Feminist music icons Le Tigre reunite with Hillary Clinton anthem to declare 'I'm With Her'

It's been a decade since we last heard a new track from the feminist icons that make up Le Tigre – Kathleen Hanna, JD Samson and Johanna Fateman.

But the trio have suddenly reunited and, just ahead of the final debate, released a brand new track for the purpose of getting Hillary Clinton elected on November 8. It's called I'm With Her, aka Hillary's campaign slogan, and it's infectious enough to make you wish you could dance across the Pacific and submit a vote next month.

With colourful pantsuits-ahoy and iPhone footage of cats, the video is as perfect as the opening lyrics: "She doesn't bake cookies, doesn't play much golf." (You can check out the rest of the rather on-point lyrics via Pitchfork).

Clinton may not have the full support of all feminists, but a glowing endorsement from these three will surely get her over the line.

Le Tigre aren't the only band getting on the wagon. Last week, a "30 days, 30 songs" campaign for a "Trump-free America" kicked off with Franz Ferdinand and Death Cab for Cutie among the bands releasing original anti-Trump songs in the lead-up to election day.

The campaign, brainchild of McSweeney's founder Dave Eggers, was a reaction to Trump's use of classic American songs like Elton John's Tiny Dancer at rallies, and is less of an endorsement of Clinton than an effort to prevent the disaster that would be a Trump presidency.

"We first have to divert that meteorite before we can really think about the positives that will come with a Hillary Clinton presidency," Eggers told Vogue.
