ALAMEDA — Raiders coach Jack Del Rio was optimistic defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. could start running on the side this week during practice, but that didn’t appear to occur Wednesday when Edwards was not on the field during the portion of practice that was open to the media.
Edwards remains on injured reserve, although he is eligible to start practicing this week if the Raiders want to designate him as their one player who can return during the season. The first game he is eligible to play is the Nov. 6 game against the Denver Broncos, but he must practice for two weeks before he can play.
— Running back Latavius Murray (toe) and right tackle (calf) both returned to practice in limited capacities. Murray has missed the past two games, while Watson has been out for the last three and also missed Week 2 with a groin injury.
— Center Rodney Hudson (knee), guard Gabe Jackson (knee), running back/special teamer Taiwan Jones (knee), guard/center Jon Feliciano (calf) were all limited at practice. Tackle Vadal Alexander, who missed Sunday’s game with an ankle injury, didn’t practice and safety/special teamer Brynden Trawick also sat out.
