Toowoomba (nicknamed 'The Garden City') is a city in the Darling Downs region of Queensland, Australia. It is located 125 km (78 mi) west of Queensland's capital city Brisbane by road. The estimated urban population of Toowoomba as at June 2014 was 113,625, with a regional population of over 160,000. A university and cathedral city, Toowoomba hosts the Australian Carnival of Flowers each September and national championship events for the sports of mountain biking and motocross. There are more than 150 public parks and gardens in Toowoomba. It has developed into a regional centre for business and government services. It is also referred to as the capital of the Darling Downs.
It is the sixteenth-largest city in Australia, the sixth largest in Queensland, after Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Townsville and Cairns. Toowoomba is the most populous inland city in the country after the national capital, Canberra.
Toowoomba's colonial history traces back to 1816 when English botanist and explorer Allan Cunningham arrived in Australia from Brazil and in June 1827 discovered 4 million acres (16,000 km²) of rich farming and grazing land, which became known as the Darling Downs, bordered on the east by the Great Dividing Range and situated 100 miles (160 km) west of the settlement of Moreton Bay. Thirteen years later when George and Patrick Leslie established Toolburra Station 56 miles (90 km) south-west of Toowoomba the first settlers arrived on the Downs and established a township of bark-slab shops called The Springs which was soon renamed Drayton. Land for the town was first surveyed in 1849, then again in 1853.

Amazing footage of East Creek near Chalk Drive / Chalk Lane rising and washing away lots of cars during Flash Flood in Toowoomba on Monday 10 January 2011. This is some of the best footage I have seen of the Flood and was taken from the second floor of our office which backs onto Chalk Lane. It shows just how fast the creek turned into a torrent and quickly flooded Chalk Drive and Chalk Lane. I also got some video of where the creek crosses Neil Street and some video of the aftermath and the huge amount of cars damaged and piled on top of one another in the Chalk Drive car park. ***** With the incredible exposure that my video is receiving all over the internet and media worldwide I would like to encourage you to donate to the relief appeals. You can donate to the Queensland Governm...

I traveled to Toowomba today to visit with my friend Merna. Upon my arrival she extolled me with her belief that Toowoomba was a pretty boring place with not all that much to see or do. But ya know, sometimes when you live in a place you might not always know what's there. So as we traveled about a bit and we found this cool path that leads through a waterfall garden. Maybe the next time I make it out to the "OutBack" of Toowooba I'll discover other really interesting things and places to explore.
A wrong turn can be exactly the right thing sometimes. Follow us along the plains to peak drive and watch as green farming land, rock cliffs and lush valleys go by. Come and play with the lions at the Darling downs zoo and meet the first white lion born in Queensland. I don't wanna hear it, all you do is talk about you!
I don't wanna hear it, cause I know none of it is true!
I don't wanna hear it, I'm sick and tired of all your lies!
I don't wanna hear it, when will you realize.
I don't wanna hear it, know you're full of shit!
Shut your fucking mouth, I don't care what you say, you keep talking,
talking shit every day, first you tell your stories, then you tell your lies...
