The Riddler, A.K.A. Edward Nigma (sometimes Nygma), is one of Batman's more famous villains in his rogue's gallery so today, let's take a look at his complete history and origins!

The Riddler is the single least effective villain Batman faces across all four Arkham games, for the following reasons. Beware of spoilers ahead for Arkham Knight and subscribe to Outside Xbox for more Batman! http://www.tinyurl.com/SubToOxbox
When a villain calls himself The Riddler, the least you expect is some quality riddles, but it's not clear Riddler even knows what a riddle is. See the video above for sample non-riddles.
By the time we get to Arkham Knight, Riddler has given up altogether on challenging Batman with puzzles, electing instead to build a bunch of ludicrously elaborate racetracks that only someone with some kind of rocket-powered car would be able to complete. That's not a riddle either, Eddie.
Then he managers to create advanced Batman-proof robots to bring down the Bat, but fails to foresee a scenario where someone other than Batman fights his Batman-proof Riddler-bots. Catwoman, for instance. He also created a Catwoman-proof robot, which he only uses when Batman is around.
Why not just make one robot, that is impervious to both Batman and Catwoman, then let it beat them to death in a locked room? I guess that's why I'm not a Riddle-themed supervillain. That and I know how riddles work.

Riddler
The Riddler (Edward Nigma) is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly as an adversary of the superhero Batman. Created by writer Bill Finger and artist Dick Sprang, the character first appeared in Detective Comics #140 (Oct. 1948). The Riddler takes delight in incorporating riddles and puzzles into his criminal plots, often leaving them as clues for the authorities and Batman to solve. The character is one of Batman's most enduring enemies and belongs to the collective of adversaries that make up Batman's rogues gallery.
Frank Gorshin portrayed the character in the 1960s Batman television series, and Jim Carrey portrayed him in the 1995 film Batman Forever. In 2009, the Riddler was ranked as IGN's 59th Greatest Comic Book Villain of All Time.
Character overview
The Riddler is obsessed with riddles, puzzles, and word games. He frequently delights in over-stating his "intellectual superiority" and on forewarning both Batman and the police of his capers by sending them complex clues. With this self-conscious use of a gimmick, Riddler's crimes are flamboyant and ostentatious. The character is depicted as wearing a domino mask either with a green suit and bowler hat, or a green unitard with question mark prints. A black, green, or purple question mark serves as his visual motif.

When a villain calls himself The Riddler, the least you expect is some quality riddles, but it's not clear Riddler even knows what a riddle is. See the video above for sample non-riddles.
By the time we get to Arkham Knight, Riddler has given up altogether on challenging Batman with puzzles, electing instead to build a bunch of ludicrously elaborate racetracks that only someone with some kind of rocket-powered car would be able to complete. That's not a riddle either, Eddie.
Then he managers to create advanced Batman-proof robots to bring down the Bat, but fails to foresee a scenario where someone other than Batman fights his Batman-proof Riddler-bots. Catwoman, for instance. He also created a Catwoman-proof robot, which he only uses when Batman is around.
Why not just make one robot, that is impervious to both Batman and Catwoman, then let it beat them to death in a locked room? I guess that's why I'm not a Riddle-themed supervillain. That and I know how riddles work.
