Too much of a coincidence to happen so shortly after 911? Could it really have been a bomb? American Airlines Flight 587 was a regularly scheduled passenger flight from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City to Santo Domingo's Las Américas International Airport in the Dominican Republic. On November 12, 2001, the Airbus A300-600 flying the route crashed into the Belle Harbor neighborhood of Queens, a borough of New York City, shortly after takeoff. All 260 people on board the flight were killed, along with five people on the ground. It is the second-deadliest aviation incident involving an Airbus A300, after Iran Air Flight 655 and the second-deadliest aviation incident to occur on U.S. soil, after American Airlines Flight 191. To date, no single-airplane crash incident th...

A full length full flight video in real time with American Airlines, from Dublin to Philadelphia, onboard Boeing 757-200 N936UW operating flight AA723 on April 1 2016. **Every moment of the flight included from airport to airport. ATC for full flight.** We begin our journey outside Dublin Airport's Terminal 2, before making our way through the airport, pre-clearing US immigration, and boarding our ride for today: Boeing 757-200 N936UW. Once we are all boarded we push back, but the crew are unable to start one of the engines - so we return to the gate for the engineers to fix the fault. We finally push back and taxi to runway 10 for departure, where we depart almost 2 hours behind schedule. Once airborne, we head across Ireland before beginning our transatlantic crossing, flying at a...

Made in the 1940s, FLAGSHIPS OF THE AIR presents a brief history of transportation, ending with the invention of the airplane, and the compression of time and space that came along with it. The film features the Douglas DC-3, American Airlines flagships. Stewardess service is seen at the 6 minute mark, and a transcontinental journey. The film emphasizes the safety of air travel, and explains how pilots navigate, and the safety checks made with meteorologists prior to flight. A travel agency is seen at the 18:30 mark. Views of New York City from the air are seen at the 23 minute mark. The Douglas DC-3 is a fixed-wing propeller-driven airliner. Its cruise speed (207 mph or 333 km/h) and range (1,500 mi or 2,400 km) revolutionized air transport in the 1930s and 1940s. Its lasting effect on ...
