Thurl Arthur Ravenscroft (/ˈθɜːrl ˈreɪvənzkrɒft/; February 6, 1914 – May 22, 2005) was an American voice actor and basso profundo known as the booming voice behind Tony the Tiger's "They're grrreat!" in Kellogg's Frosted Flakes television commercials for more than five decades. Ravenscroft was also known, albeit uncredited, as the vocalist for the song "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" from the classic Christmas television special, Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
Ravenscroft did some voice-over work and singing for Disney in both the films and the attractions at Disneyland (which were later featured at Walt Disney World). The most well known of these attractions are The Haunted Mansion, Country Bear Jamboree, The Mark Twain Riverboat, Pirates of the Caribbean, Disneyland Railroad, and Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room. His voice acting career began in 1940 and lasted until his death in 2005 at age 91.
Walter Elias "Walt" Disney (/ˈdɪzni/; December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966) was an American entrepreneur, cartoonist, animator, voice actor, and film producer. He was a prominent figure within the American animation industry and throughout the world, and is regarded as a cultural icon, known for his influence and contributions to entertainment during the 20th century. As a Hollywood business mogul, he and his brother Roy O. Disney co-founded The Walt Disney Company.
As an animator and entrepreneur, Disney was particularly noted as a filmmaker and a popular showman, as well as an innovator in animation and theme park design. He and his staff created numerous famous fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy. Disney himself was the original voice for Mickey. During his lifetime, he won 22 Academy Awards and received four honorary Academy Awards from a total of 59 nominations, including a record of four in one year, giving him more Oscar awards and nominations than any other individual in history. Disney also won seven Emmy Awards and gave his name to the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in the U.S., as well as the international resorts Tokyo Disney Resort, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disney Resort.

One of the songs on the B side of the Pirates of the Caribbean Storyteller LP ST-3937, performed by the late Thurl Ravenscroft, one of the Mellomen and voice artist.
The Haunted Mansion (1969) Disneyland LP #STER-3947 - Both sides 1 & 2 This was a promotional record for Disneyland's new attraction, "The Haunted Mansion" - Voices are Ronny Howard, Robie Lester, Thurl Ravenscroft, Pete Renoudet, Eleanor Audley, & The Grim Grinning Ghosts (Thurl Ravenscroft, Jay Meyer, Chuck Schroeder, Verne Rowe, and Bob Ebright. (Note: Not music oriented or like anything I've posted here in the past, but since it's my favorite Disneyland ride and the record was in great shape..... why not post it ?)
Here's another one called "A Child's Introduction to Melody". This LP was on the Disneyland label in 1962, but it was originally released as a "Storyteller" version where it had an 11-page book on there and it was under the title "A Child's Primer - Music How It's Made & Played", but this one is a later release. This album demonstrates about the instruments in the orchestra, just like you're in school. The album features Thurl Ravenscroft as the Owl, Bill Lee as Bertie Birdbrain and Gloria Wood as Penelope Pinfeathers. This was based on two Disney shorts including "Melody" and "Toot, Whistle, Plunk & Boom" and it's a fun album to hear. The LP was later by a rap group known as De La Soul entitled "Buddy (Remix)", you might hear the part at 2:15 and at 5:28.
In this 2009 remastered edition of the classic read-along record narrated by Thurl Ravenscroft, Mike and Karen dare to venture inside a deserted, spooky old mansion. What will they find? Probably not what you expect!
