"In Love" is a song written by Mike Reid and Bruce Dees, and recorded by American country music artist Ronnie Milsap. It was released in June 1986 as the third single from the album Lost in the Fifties Tonight.

Success and reception

"In Love" was Milsap's 44th single to be released, and his 29th No. 1 hit on the Billboard country charts. The song came during the peak of his success as country music singer as it was part of an uninterrupted string of several No. 1 hits to his credit.

The song was also one of several songs written by songwriter Reid which became major hits for Milsap.

"Fool in Love" is a song by Barbadian recording artist Rihanna, from the deluxe edition of her sixth studio album Talk That Talk (2011). The song was written by Ester Dean, Lukasz Gottwald, Henry Walter. Production was helmed by Lukasz Gottwald, Cirkut and Dean. Musically, "Fool in Love" is a rhapsodic ballad, and instrumentation consists of acoustic and electric guitars, synthesizers and drums. The lyrics revolve around Rihanna being the protagonist, and how she has met a relatively good man who her parents do not approve of, but requests that they accept her decision to be with him due to their love for each other, despite familial concerns.

It received comparisons to Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and Britney Spears' "Criminal". The song's composition, production and vocal performance was acclaimed by music critics, however, some criticized its lyrics. Upon the release of Talk That Talk, "Fool in Love" debuted on the South Korea Gaon International Chart at number 70, with digital sales of 6,536 downloads. It also charted on the UK R&B Chart at number 35 and on the UK Singles Chart at number 123.

"A Fool in Love" is the debut single for the team of Ike & Tina Turner. Originally written by Ike Turner, the song became the first official single featuring Tina Turner and was the duo's first hit single, released on the Sue Records label in 1960.

Overview

History

In 1958, Anna Mae Bullock had won a spot on blues musician Ike Turner's Kings of Rhythm band after taking a microphone from her sister and singing several B. B. King songs. Originally, Bullock was Turner's background vocalist and Turner included Bullock in his 1958 single, "Boxtop". Despite Bullock's insistence to be the Kings of Rhythm's lead vocalist, her requests were rebuffed by Turner, who had other singers fronting the band. Bullock's stage name was simply "Little Ann". During this time, Bullock dated the band's saxophonist, Raymond Hill, becoming a mother to Hill's child at eighteen.

In the meantime, Turner, who had for years recorded mostly blues music and had since been linked to the beginnings of rock 'n roll with the release of "Rocket 88", had begun to be influenced by the music of Ray Charles, Sam Cooke and James Brown and decided to bring his band away from their early blues years to a more soulful direction. Turner then wrote several songs in this style, including a song he had originally intended for a male vocalist, Art Lassiter, titled "A Fool In Love". When Lassiter got into an argument with Turner over the song and the monetary assets the song may receive, he left the band before he recorded the song.
