An experimental video presenting a key part of Big Boss' story, in a different light; through a different "dimension". The point of this video is to fully engross the viewer by making you experience Snake's mental state and view things from his perspective, after completing a traumatic mission that scarred him for life. With that said, this video was edited to be intentionally unpleasant to watch – containing intense flashes, sounds, effects, etc., and could potentially trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy. Please keep that in my mind before watching. This was a different type of project in a sense that the structure (intro, build up, climax, etc.) is practically non-existent. Ordinarily, I would form a basic idea in my head and start with a rough planning of the video, which often leads to not editing a project in order (beginning to end). That was not the case with this project, as it was edited spontaneously and progressively, from start to finish (the first phase anyway). This was absolutely necessary, because for every editing session of this project, I've tried to put myself in Big Boss' shoes and edit accordingly. I'm sure we've all experienced unfortunate events, been in dark place and lived through traumatic experiences, that scarred us in a certain way. Those experiences eat us alive from the inside, inhabiting our minds and bodies like a disease and can cause serious damage, as we keep it locked away inside ourselves. This is exactly how I related and interpreted Big Boss' state during the MGS3 ending sequence – physically present, mentally absent; overwhelmed by an immense rush of memories and emotions - a dead man walking ("Ever since I killed The Boss, I was already dead." – Big Boss, MGS4).
