The Yellow River or Huáng Hé is the third-longest river in Asia, following the Yangtze River and Yenisei River, and the sixth-longest in the world at the estimated length of 5,464 km (3,395 mi). Originating in the Bayan Har Mountains in Qinghai province of western China, it flows through nine provinces, and it empties into the Bohai Sea near the city of Dongying in Shandong province. The Yellow River basin has an east–west extent of about 1,900 kilometers (1,180 mi) and a north–south extent of about 1,100 km (680 mi). Its total basin area is about 742,443 square kilometers (286,659 sq mi).
The Yellow River is called "the cradle of Chinese civilization", because its basin was the birthplace of ancient Chinese civilization, and it was the most prosperous region in early Chinese history. However, because of frequent devastating floods and course changes produced by the continual elevation of the river bed (due in part to manmade erosion upstream), sometimes above the level of its surrounding farm fields, it also has the names China's Sorrow and Scourge of the Sons of Han.

held down a day job recording other people's hits for U.K. budget labels. The story of Christie's success with Yellow River is well-known. The Tremeloes spurned Jeff Christie's song, which in turn launched Jeff on his own way to a successful music career. Here a Dutch TV show interviews the players involved and gets their recollections on how the song Yellow River was produced, quickly becoming a pop classic and one of the biggest-selling singles of all time. www.yellowriver.0catch.com

The Mekong then meets the tripoint of China, Burma (Myanmar) and Laos. From there it flows southwest and forms the border of Burma and Laos for about 100 kilometres (62 mi) until it arrives at the tripoint ...

Read your free e-book: http://hotaudiobook.com/mebk/50/en/B000OI19FS/book This text had a major impact in its original Chinese version. Reviewed in the Far East Economic Review as 'one of the richest portraits of the Chinese countryside published in the reform era', it charts a long journey through the hinterland region of the Yellow River undertaken by the author between 1994 and 1996. It examines in exhaustive detail the lives and work of peasants, Party and local government officials, providing a wealth of data on the nature of life in post-reform rural China. The author argues that global integration is but the latest 'great leap forward' in a succession of reforms over a hundred years.
Written by Jeff Christie and recorded by The Compton Brothers. Released in 1972 as a single from the album "Yellow River", it reached #49 on the country charts. The label credits A. Laszio as composer.
Finally, many of the peppers and tomatoes are ready for harvest at the river garden. As most of you know, I do not live there so I am unable to water and feed this garden on a regular basis. Feel free to join me for a quick walk in September and I will how you how it is doing. I'd like to show you some beautiful red bell peppers I started from seed (indoors) earlier in the year. This is my second visit to the garden this month. More information on California Poppies: https://plants.usda.gov/plantguide/pdf/pg_esca2.pdf

So long, boy you can take my place
Got my papers, I've got my pay
So pack my bags and I'll be on my way
To Yellow River
Put my gun down, the war is won
Fill my glass, now the time has come
I'm going back to the place that I love
At Yellow River
Yellow River, Yellow River
Is in my mind and in my eyes
Yellow River, Yellow River
Is in my blood, it's the place I love
Got no time for explanations, got no time to lose
Tomorrow night you'll find me
sleeping underneath the moon
At Yellow River
Cannon fire lingers in my mind
I'm so glad that I'm still alive
And I've been gone for such a long time
At Yellow River
I remember the nights were cool
I still can see the water pool
And I remember the girl that I knew
At Yellow River
Yellow River, Yellow River
Is in my mind and in my eyes
Yellow River, Yellow River
Is in my blood, it's the place I love
Got no time for explanations, got no time to lose
Tomorrow night you'll find me
sleeping underneath the moon
At Yellow River
Yellow River, Yellow River
Is in my mind and in my eyes
Yellow River, Yellow River
