Robin McLaurin Williams (July 21, 1951 – August 11, 2014) was an American actor and comedian. Starting as a stand-up comedian in San Francisco and Los Angeles in the mid-1970s, he is credited with leading San Francisco's comedy renaissance. After rising to fame as Mork in the sitcom Mork & Mindy (1978–82), he went on to establish a career in both stand-up comedy and feature film acting. He was known for his improvisational skills.
After his film debut in the musical comedy Popeye (1980), he starred or co-starred in widely acclaimed films, including the comedy-drama The World According to Garp (1982), war comedy Good Morning, Vietnam (1987), dramas Dead Poets Society (1989) and Awakenings (1990), comedy-drama The Fisher King (1991), the animated musical-fantasy Aladdin (1992), drama Good Will Hunting (1997), and psychological thriller One Hour Photo (2002), as well as financial successes such as the fantasy adventure film Hook (1991), comedy Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), fantasy adventure Jumanji (1995), comedy The Birdcage (1996), and the Night at the Museum trilogy.
Philip David "Phil" Wickham (born April 5, 1984) is a Contemporary Christian vocalist/songwriter and guitarist from San Diego, California. Wickham has released seven CDs, Give You My World in 2003, a self-titled album in 2006, Cannons in 2007, Singalong in 2008, Heaven & Earth in 2009,Response in 2011, and Singalong 2 in 2012, The Ascension in 2013. He has also led worship at Soul Survivor.
Philip was raised in a Christian home, the second of three children (brother Evan Wickham, sister Jillian Wickham), and after feeling the need to "make his faith his own" he began leading worship for his youth group at 13 years of age. He graduated from Calvary Christian School in Vista, California. Wickham's father is currently a worship leader, and both of his parents were at one time members of Jesus movement band Parable. His older brother Evan Wickham is also a musician who used to serve at Calvary Chapel in Vista, and now currently serves at A Jesus Church-Westside, Portland, OR. His parents, John and Lisa (née, Irwin), encouraged Wickham to learn popular praise songs and to write his own. Wickham began his full-time music career by touring California and recording his first album. On November 2, 2008, Wickham married his longtime girlfriend, Mallory Plotnik. They have three daughters.
"Something Beautiful" is a song written by Guy Chambers and Robbie Williams. Originally offered to Welsh singer Tom Jones, it was released on 28 July 2003 as the third single from Williams' fifth studio album Escapology (2002).
The cliffhanger video of the song is influenced by reality shows like Pop Idol, and is one of the few which has two different endings. An interactive version of the video was created to run on Sky Digital by weapon7 where viewers could vote through the red button and discover the backstory of the participants. A spokesman for Williams told the Daily Mirror, "We wanted to find someone with the 'essence' of Robbie to perform the new track in the video – it could be a woman."
At the start of the video, fans from all over Europe try to impress judges during the audition stage of fictional reality show Manufactured Miracles; one of the members of the selection panel is Williams' father real-life father Pete Conway. Several contestants are put through to the next round, but only three emerge finalists: actor/singer Peter Caruana from Manchester, and students Rebecca Durrant and Bjorn Wenner from Essex and Hamburg respectively. They are groomed to be pop stars by learning from a choreographer and singing coach how to dance and sing like Williams and given makeovers by stylists, while experiencing the celebrity status lifestyle, with an interview at Capital FM and staying in a luxury hotel, before competing in the live shows with each finalist representing a different stage in Williams' career.

This is the raw vision/sound of an interview me and Chris Murray conducted in Sydney in late 2010 for the now-defunct cable show The Movie Club. I posted the footage a few months ago because I've always liked how it showed the low-key Robin Williams behind the sometimes manic persona I'd seen in other interviews. He was a lovely guy, very happy to chat afterwards and was instrumental in arranging for me to visit his hero, Mort Sahl, in Mill Valley, California, for another interview. He will be missed.
Beloved actor Robin Williams was found dead on Monday, police reported. He was 63. The apparent cause of death was suicide by asphyxiation, authorities said. According to his publicist, Williams had been battling severe depression. Williams was best known for his starring roles in classic comedies like Mrs. Doubtfire, Good Morning, Vietnam and Jumanji, but also in dramas like Dead Poets Society. He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Dr. Sean Maguire in Good Will Hunting. He rose to fame while playing Mork the alien in the TV show Mork & Mindy, a Happy Days spinoff. Most recently, Williams had starred in the new CBS sitcom 'The Crazy Ones.' It was cancelled after just one season. At his time of death, a sequel to Mrs. Doubtfire was in the works. Susan ...
