Whether you are developing 5G products or something as simple as a common table lamp, your device must meet requirements set by a standardization body such as CISPR, ETSI, or the FCC. These EMC standards define acceptable emission and immunity levels, testing methodologies, and test equipment in order to ensure proper EMC requirements set by global and/or regional regulatory bodies. This webinar offers an introduction to the concepts of EMC testing and discusses why EMC regulations are important. This webinar also explains why we need EMC testing, what makes up the parts of EMC testing. The presenters also provide an overview of why standards exist, who sets the requirements, and which standards are most common in the commercial, A&D;, automotive, and medical industries. Presenters: Jonathan Coke, EMC Applications Engineer and Jeremy Cline, EMC Product Manager Jonathan has over 10 years in the EMC/EMI industry with the majority of his time being spent in an EMC/EMI test house or compliance lab. He joined Rohde & Schwarz two years ago. In that time, he has performed testing on many types of devices from small and large medical components, automotive devices, all the way up to the Power Generation and Distribution Systems for the 787 aircraft. Previously, he was the road team lead for 4 years with Ingenium Testing/NTS. His responsibilities included performing High Level Pulsed and Average Radio Frequency testing to DO160 and MIL STD at customer’s facilities. I have experience testing with many different standards including DO160, D6-16050, ABD, MIL STD, CISPR, ISO17025, and some custom requirements from aircraft manufacturers. Jeremy Cline is responsible for EMC Products and Systems for R&S; North America. Over the last 10+ years, Jeremy has specialized in both field and lab applications for multiple industries, and has authored several white papers and patents.
