The late Socialist President Francois Mitterrand was known as the great seducer of French politics. Now, more than 20 years after he died, the seducer is at it once again. France's publishing sensation of the year is this week's release of Mitterrand's Letters to Anne, a book containing more than 1,200 letters sent to his secret lover (and, from 1974, mother to his child) Anne Pingeot between 1962 and his death in 1996. France's publishing sensation of the year is this week's release of Mitterrand's Letters to Anne, a book containing more than 1,200 letters sent to his secret lover (and, from 1974, mother to his child) Anne Pingeot between 1962 and his death in 1996.
The letters show a side of the president that his sphinx-like public persona never betrayed. They are full of love, tenderness and devotion, and expressed in a French that has literary critics baying with delight.
Small wonder that the book's launch - coinciding with the centenary of Mitterrand's birth near Cognac - has triggered a bout of nostalgia for the great man, against whom modern-day presidents seem to shrivel by comparison.
Mitterrand was a socialist senator and former minister 46 years of age when he met Anne Pingeot - 27 years his junior - on the beach at Hossegor in south-west France.

L.F.T.A. tells the story of an Nth generation Clemmons who lives in a a post-apocalyptic earth of some reality and is taking care of someone (the viewer) while also collecting letters, from personal stories to secret documents, that have been scattered to the wind, as he tries to piece together what happened.
If you would like to take part, please follow the instructions below:
1. Use your imagination! Put yourself into a post-apocalyptic mindset and write or type a letter to a loved one, as a member of a secret organization, a personal diary, or something more!
2. Typed letters should be kept to 1 side of one page, since it can contain more paragraphs and words than a handwritten letter.
3. Handwritten letters can be 2 to 3 sides max (unless you send in multiple pages and space your writing).
4. Your letter should not contain your full real name. First names are okay. This is for your own privacy and security of course.
5. Get creative! Dab your paper with a wet tea bag or soak it in coffee, and tear and/or burn the edges to give it that worn, old look and then throw it in the oven to bake at 200 degrees Fahrenheit. I spent about 3 hours myself doing this to most of the letters in Part 2.
