Biography of Soke Takayuki Kubota 10th dan
Movie about soke Takayuki Kubota 10th dan Gosoku-ryu karate from www.empiremediallc.com Born in Kumamoto, Japan, Takayuki Kubota began studying martial arts at the age of four under the direction of his father, Denjiro Kubota. Because of his insatiable desire to learn every aspect of the arts, he trained daily and studied several different styles of martial arts. He distinguished himself by earning advanced instructor ratings in Judo, Aikido, Kendo, Iaido and meditation as well as calligraphy and several other arts. Grand Master Kubota began his teaching career at the age of 14 and it has flourished ever since. At age eighteen he opened his first dojo in Tokyo. He has taught police techniques for over 35 years from simple handcuffing to the world famous baton and Kubotan techniques. He has taught at 34 law enforcement agencies all over the world including the Tokyo and Los Angeles police departments, the FBI and the California Highway patrol. An American citizen since 1974, Grand Master Kubota devotes much of his time to teaching karate at his school in Glendale, California. Although he is well known for having been an instructor to some of the most prominent members of our society, he is most sincerely interested in the development of karate at all levels ...

MANY STEPS
I traveled around the world to create the film which concept is "collecting the steps from all over the world and playing a music with the steps".
All of us breathe in the same air and step on the same ground.

Now, I'm in Tokyo. I was struck by strong earthquake when I was preparing for the final check. Many friends around the world worried about my safety. I was so touched. My family, me and Tokyo are OK. But the people of disaster area are in deep sorrow still now. Not only that, they spend their days worrying about aftershocks, tsunami and nuclear reactor problem. I want to support the people through every means I can. And, I hope that they resume peaceful everyday life as soon as possible.
We have received warm support from all over the world. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

It is a work made as the visual identity of architects office Sturdy Style.
Their corporate identity is home creating without stereotype.
The architect faces the white box symbolizing a home,
and designs harmony between the life and the environment.
By using CG, we can see his imagination graphically.
Finally he creates the ideal home with his sincere desire.

In this installation YesYesNo teamed up with The Church, Inside Out Productions and Electric Canvas to turn the Auckland Ferry Building into an interactive playground. Our job was to create an installation that would go beyond merely projection on buildings and allow viewers to become performers, by taking their body movements and amplifying them 5 stories tall.
We used 3 different types of interaction - body interaction on the two stages, hand interaction above a light table, and phone interaction with the tracking of waving phones. There were 6 scenes, cycled every hour for the public.
We had a great deal of fun making this, hope you enjoy it too.

Takayuki Miyauchi - Ginga Nagareboshi Gin opening theme (live)
I can't believe I found this after so many years of searching. My heart is still beating like crazy. Takayuki Miyauchi himself singing the opening theme of Ginga Nagareboshi Gin. Miyauchi is the one who sings also the other songs from GNG, except one with Satoko Yamano. My dream has been to see actual footage of Miyauchi performing this or any song from my favourite anime, and here it is.

Takayuki Kubota's Kubotan and How To Use It
Takayuki Kubota, born September 20, 1934) is a Japanese master of karate. He founded the Gosoku-ryu style of karate, and is the founder and president of the International Karate Association. Kubota holds the title of Sōke for his development of the Gosoku-ryū style of karate. He is also the inventor and patent-holder of the Kubotan self-defense key chain. Kubota was a self-defense instructor for the Tokyo Police department in the 1950s, where he was noted for his expertise in practical karate. He has devoted his life to learning, creating, and teaching the application of self-defense techniques to military, law enforcement, and civilian personnel. He has earned black belt degrees in karate, judo, aikido, kendo, and iaido. The Kubotan self-defense keychain is a close-quarter self-defense weapon developed by Takayuki Kubota. It is essentially a derivation of the yawara stick, usually 5.5 inches (14 cm) long and 0.56 inch (1.5 cm) in diameter, slightly thicker or the same size as a marker pen. Attached with a key ring for convenience and concealment, the Kubotan appears as an innocuous key fob to the untrained eye, although it may be considered an offensive weapon in some jurisdictions. Apart from its size and shape, much of its usage is quite similar to the yawara stick. As with the yawara stick, the principal areas for attacks in self-defense include bony, fleshy and nerve targets such as knuckles, forearms, bridge of the nose, shins, stomach, solar plexus, spine, temple ...
