➡I'm on Tumblr! http://btmmr.tumblr.com/ Recorded live at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan, this May 16, 1990 concert contains all the highlights of the night. A little history on this tour- for his 1990 Sound + Vision tour, Bowie pleged that this would mark the final tour where fans could hear his greatest hits like 'Space Oddity' and 'Ashes To Ashes', since he didn't want to become a 'Greatest Hits'-type of performer *cough* Rolling Stones *cough*. One of my favorite movies from the 1980's, this is a remake of the beautiful, haunting 1942 CAT PEOPLE. This version keeps the same idea: a mysterious young virgin travels to the decadent charm of New Orleans and discovers she is the descendent of a race of feline humans who transform into ravenous beasts when sexually aroused, and then must kill to regain their human form. David Bowie's theme song goes perfectly with the dark tone of the film, with a little goth rock influence thrown in. I've used the longer album version here. The movie definitely goes off in some very Freudian directions, but it's hard to imagine another actress in 1982 who could so immediately suggest a panther than Nastassja Kinski with her hypnotic, green-eyed, thick-lipped beauty. Luckily for us, she had a Euro...

David Bowie interview with Kerry O'Brien on Australian TV program "7.30 Report" broadcast in 2004. Re-broadcast on TV program "Rage" on 15 January 2016 as part of a tribute to David Bowie. RIP.
Talk with Michael Parkinson and as second guest Tom Hanks. Bowie performs "Everyone says "HI"" from the album "Heathen" and "Life on Mars" in the show. About the song "Life on Mars" and the link to Frank Sinatra: When released as a single in 1973, it reached number three in the UK and stayed on the chart for thirteen weeks. In 2015 Neil McCormick, chief rock music critic of "The Daily Telegraph", ranked it as number one in his "100 Greatest Songs of All Time" list. In 1968 Bowie wrote the lyrics "Even a Fool Learns to Love", set to the music of a 1967 French song "Comme d'habitude", composed by Claude François and Jacques Revaux. Bowie's version was never released, but Paul Anka bought the rights to the original French version, and rewrote it into "My Way", the song made famous by Frank Si...

As well as being one of the greatest and most influential musicans of all time, David Bowie also had a really impressive movie career. These are my 5 favourite of his movie roles. RIP Starman
David Bowie was many things. Glam rocker, style icon, father, husband, White Duke and incredible performer. But for all the amazing contributions he made to the world of music over the course of his long and storied career, he also gave the world of film and television plenty to talk about. Bowie, who died on Jan. 10 at 69 after a battle with cancer, was a prolific actor, bringing his presence and gravitas to films and TV shows that were lucky enough to have him. We rounded up 10 of his most unforgettable performances, all of which you should watch as soon as you can. It's worth it. Be Smarter. Faster. David Bowie stars as Bernie, an old school London gangster in this movie from 1998. Contains possibly the worst scene I've ever seeen him act in at the end of the clip. This film was in my opinion, his worst choice. Still, it's fun to see him South London himself up in a Michael Caine kind of way. Film aka Everybody Loves Sunshine. PS: I actually love Bowie's movie work and I know he's not the greatest actor in the world but in fact if you look very closely, he gives some really wonderful subtle performances; even in BUSTED in the scene where he has the gun against his head, (clip 2)... watch his hand when the gun is taken away...he trembles. It's small things like that that hardly anyone notices that make him a good actor for me. I think he can act when given the right rol...

The Next Day was, by many fan admissions, the ultimate "comeback" record for Bowie. Breaking a nine-year silence in which the only word of Bowie was from a couple of compilation releases and reissues, The Next Day was a welcomed and well-recieved record by fans and critics alike.
