Humans are creatures of rhythm and repetition. From our breath to our gait: rhythm is central to our experience, and often brings us pleasure. We can find pleasure in the rhythm of a song, or even the rows of an orchard. Of course, too much repetition can also backfire. David Silverstein describes what poetic repetition is and why it works.

What is the Middle Distance Run?
The middle distance run in marathon training, I love that 2-hour window, and yes the middle distance run allows me to sneak in some extra 2 hour runs along the marathon training path. I break down and explain in this vlog what the middle distance run is and how I work it into my training schedule. Looking forward to your thoughts on how you squeeze in that middle and long-distance runs into your training.

ENDURANCE TRAINING! Middle distance track session to maintain speed and build stamina.
After months of track running training, Ilford AC is transitioning athletes to longer distance events as the season shift to cross country.
Here the squad take on 4 x 800m efforts with five minutest rest between intervals.
The objective is to get FASTER as the session progresses - ideally, knocking 2 or more seconds off the time each rep. Negative splitting helps you get more out of a running session because you don't fade and save something in reserve for when you're fully warmed up!
