With the introduction of Sure Signal in the Department of Health's Richmond office, there has been a significant increase in connectivity and therefore efficiency. Put simply, there have been fewer dropped calls and the ability to make more calls on mobile while in the building. To improve connectivity even more, Vodafone installed voice over IP Telephony. This enabled the landline and mobile phones to ring simultaneously, which as you can imagine has improved productivity quite considerably.

The Center for Health Equity invests in key neighborhoods—or the places in our city that have been deprived of sufficient resources and attention, and which bear the highest burden of disease. These areas include North and Central Brooklyn, the South Bronx, and East and Central Harlem. In order to “right” this injustice, the Center for Health Equity has district public health offices (DPHOs) in each of these neighborhoods. Having the DPHOs located in the neighborhood offers the ability to establish and engage community partners. By engaging partners, collective impact in our health equity work is possible. Featuring out reach programes like “Shop Health”, a department initiative that aims to change the retail environment to introduce healthier options in local bodegas. And The Brownsville ...
http://www.downsizinggovernment.org/health-and-human-services The Department of Health and Human Services runs the huge and fast-growing Medicare and Medicaid. These programs fuel rising health costs, distort markets, and are plagued by waste and fraud. The department also runs other costly subsidy programs, including Head Start, TANF, and LIHEAP. Growth in HHS spending is creating a federal fiscal crisis, and the 2010 health care law sadly makes the situation worse. The department spent around $908 billion in 2013, or about $7,500 for every U.S. household. It employs 70,000 workers.
The Department of Health and Human Services holds an townhall to highlight what the health care law, the Affordable Care Act, is doing to improve the health of racial and ethnic minorities, and help achieve health equity for all Americans.
South African musician, songwriter and actor, Kabelo Mabalane, has become an ambassador for voluntary medical male circumcision in South Africa. He encourages men to be circumcised by telling his own story of circumcision. Kabelo was circumcised after school when, in a discussion with a group of friends, he realised that he was the only one not circumcised. The Department of Health strategic plan is for 4.3 million men aged 14 - 35 to be circumcised in five years because this will have the quickest and most significant impact on the HIV epidemic. It is anticipated that this could avert more than 1.2 million infections and save the country more than R48-billion in HIV-related healthcare costs. For more news, visit: http://www.sabc.co.za/news

California developed a solution to assist people across the state and is one of the few states to have an office devoted to giving people tips and resources to get the best care possible. California's Office of the Patient Advocate was established July 2000 to publish a yearly Health Care Quality Report Card[75] on the top HMOs, PPOs, and Medical Groups and to create and distribute helpful tips and resources to give Californians the tools needed to get the best care.[76] Additionally, California has a Help Center that assists Californians when they have problems with their health insurance.
