Vinod Khanna, born on 6 October 1946, to Kamla and Kishanchand Khanna, a textiles, dyes and chemicals businessman.
Vinod Khanna debuted in Sunil Dutt's 1968 film Man Ka Meet as a villain. He acted in multi-starrer films often playing supporting and negative roles in hit films such as Purab Aur Paschim (1970), Sachaa Jhutha (1970) and Mera Gaon Mera Desh (1971).] His big break was in the 1971 film Mere Apne directed by Gulzar.
Khanna was one of the most successful actors in the Bollywood, competing with Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna and Jeetendra. His pairing with Amitabh Bachchan was both critically acclaimed and commercially successful.
In 1997, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and was elected from Gurdaspur constituency in Punjab.
Vinod Khanna's latest film is Dabangg which is super hit movie starring Salmaan Khan and Sonakshi Sinha.

Vinod Khanna was born in Peshawar, British India on 6th October 1946 in a business family which migrated from Punjab to Delhi, to settle down in Mumbai in 1947. At the age of nineteen, while he was reading Commerce at Sydenham College in Mumbai, in his Junior year, his film career was launched with the film 'Man Ka Meet'. His parents were Kisnanchand and Kamla Khanna. He has two sons Akshaye Khanna and Rahul Khanna by his wife Gitanjali whom he divorced and married Kavita in the year 1990 having two daughters by her Sakshi and Shraddha.

The movie story deals with Shakti Velu after having witnessed his dad being killed by the local police, and being orphaned and homeless, Shakti Velu develops a hatred and distrust of the police in India. He is befriended by another homeless boy named Shanker, who asks him to accompany him to Bombay's slums, where they live with a kind-hearted Muslim named Karim Baba, and his daughter, Shama. This is where Shakti and Shankar spend their childhood. When they mature, they take to petty crime. Here too, Shakti witnesses police brutality and atrocities, especially at the hands of sadistic, alcoholic, and womanizing Police Inspector Ratan Singh. When Karim Baba is arrested, jailed, and found hanging by his neck in police custody, Shakti hunts down Ratan Singh, and kills him in broad daylight in front of the several hundred people. An investigation is launched, but no one comes forward as a witness. Thus Shakti gets his reputation as a Don with a good heart i.e., Dayavan. Shakti marries local prostitute, Neelu, and has two children, Suraj and Sarita. He becomes even more powerful and influential all over Bombay, and his working partners are powerful criminal dons who have ruled over Bombay for eons. Shakti eventually replaces these dons, and becomes Bombay's only Don. This creates enemies for him and his family, but he believes since he has not really done any harm to anyone, he and his family will be safe. It is this belief that will take a heavy toll on his life and that of his family, when the truth dawns that he, himself, is responsible for being kind to a man, who will ultimately bring forward ruin to the Velu family.

Gangadhar Choudhary rules a small community in rural India with an iron hand, and will never permit anyone to speak up against him. He owns most of the land surrounding his palatial home - save for the small patch of land owned by Veer Singh. He summons Veer to his house, and offers him substantial compensation for his land, but Veer refuses, and the Gangadhar has him killed. Veer's widow dies of shock, leaving behind a young Suraj to be brought up by a kindly widow Mrs. Salma Khan, who is also the mother of Iqbal. Years go by, Suraj grows up joins the Indian Armed Forces, and after a meritorious career, he resigns and returns home to avenge his father's death. What he does not know that he must first come to terms with the local Police Inspector Iqbal Khan, and then the wealthy Collector of the District, Rajpal Chauhan, before he can even think of touching a single hair of Gangadhar Choudhary.

Vinod Khanna
Vinod Khanna (born 6 October 1946) is an Indian actor and producer of Bollywood films. He is also an active politician. He is the sitting MP from Gurdaspur. He appeared in 141 films between 1968 and 2013.
He also played the lead role in the Pakistani film Godfather released in 2007.
Early life
Khanna was born to Kamla and Kishanchand Khanna, a textiles, dyes and chemicals businessman, on 6 October 1946, in Peshawar, British India (now in Pakistan). He has three sisters and one brother. Shortly after his birth, India was partitioned and the family left Peshawar and reached Mumbai.
He attended Queen Mary School, Mumbai until class II and then transferred to St. Xavier's High School, Fort. In 1957, the family moved to Delhi where he attended Delhi Public School, Mathura Road. Although the family moved back to Mumbai in 1960, he was sent to Barnes School in Deolali, near Nashik. During his time at the boarding school Khanna watched the epic Solva Saal and Mughal-e-Azam and fell in love with motion pictures. He graduated with a commerce degree from Sydenham College, Delhi.

When Karim Baba is arrested, jailed, and found hanging by his neck in police custody, Shakti hunts down Ratan Singh, and kills him in broad daylight in front of the several hundred people. An investigation is launched, but no one comes forward as a witness. Thus Shakti gets his reputation as a Don with a good heart i.e., Dayavan. Shakti marries local prostitute, Neelu, and has two children, Suraj and Sarita. He becomes even more powerful and influential all over Bombay, and his working partners are powerful criminal dons who have ruled over Bombay for eons. Shakti eventually replaces these dons, and becomes Bombay's only Don. Imtihan ("The Test") is a 1974 Indian Hindi film starring Vinod Khanna, Tanuja and Bindu. The story of the film revolves around an idealistic professor who decides to reform a group of rowdy students at a college.It is inspired by the 1967 British film To Sir, with Love, and has inspired the television series Jeet. The film was shot in Nashik.Pramod Sharma (Vinod Khanna) is the son of a wealthy businessman (Murad). An idealistic person, he leaves his family business to become a lecturer of history at the college Adarsh Mahavidyalya. The students of the college are highly indisciplined, and the crowd includes Rakesh (Ranjeet), a rowdy student involved in several unlawful activities. Pramod tries to reform these students. Rita (Bindu), the college chairman's daughter and a student, develops an infatuation for Pramod.
Meanwhile, Pramod meets Madhu (Tanuja), the daughter of the college principal H. P. Shastri (Abhi Bhattacharya). He learns that she was in love with Vijay, a pilot, and both were expected to marry soon. Unfortunately, Vijay's plane crashed and he died. The shock of this news lead to Madhu falling off the stairs, resulting in a permanent damage to her leg. Madhu falls in love with Pramod, who brings positivity to her life.He encourages her to follow-up on her hobbies, especially painting, and go out more often. Rita, who is jealous of Pramod's relationship with Madhu, falsely accuses him of sexual harassment, supported by Rakesh. The rest of the story tells of how Pramod gets through this imtihan ("test") of life. In the end, Pramod proves his innocence and takes leave from the college, joined by Madhu.

Vinod Khanna, born on 6 October 1946, to Kamla and Kishanchand Khanna, a textiles, dyes and chemicals businessman.
Vinod Khanna debuted in Sunil Dutt's 1968 film Man Ka Meet as a villain. He acted in multi-starrer films often playing supporting and negative roles in hit films such as Purab Aur Paschim (1970), Sachaa Jhutha (1970) and Mera Gaon Mera Desh (1971).] His big break was in the 1971 film Mere Apne directed by Gulzar.
Khanna was one of the most successful actors in the Bollywood, competing with Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna and Jeetendra. His pairing with Amitabh Bachchan was both critically acclaimed and commercially successful.
In 1997, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and was elected from Gurdaspur constituency in Punjab.
Vinod Khanna's latest film is Dabangg which is super hit movie starring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha.
