Deluce's Patent are a contemporary Folk group covering traditional English, Irish, America and Scottish folk songs, as well as performing their original material.
The band members are: Conor O' Sullivan (Guitar, Banjo and Vocal), Adrian Spillett (Vocal, Guitar, Bouzouki and Box), Evelyn O' Connell (Vocal and Banjo), Deirdre Granville( Vocals, Fiddle, Harp and Flute). Between the four of them they have a lot of musical experience, good variety of voices and a unique sound that reflects the eclectic tastes of all members. They have a nice blend of instruments, distinctive harmonies and a strong stage presence.
Deirdre Granville studied both traditional and classical music from a young age. She has performed and toured with the Kerry Chamber and Youth Orchestras amongst others. She is an accomplished harpist, flautist and violinist and has won the All-Ireland title on the harp. A first class honours Music graduate (UCC), Deirdre has performed extensively
throughout the UK, Europe, Australia and America and now teaches and plays
regularly in her native Dingle.
Adrian Spillett has been a well established folk singer in his native Cork now for several years. As well as being a founding member of the Corner House singing session which has hosted some of Cork's finest musicians and songwriters, Adrian has performed in Germany and Australia.
Conor O' Sullivan started playing music in his early teens and since then has established himself as a well respected musician in Cork and beyond. As well as being a regular in the vibrant Cork traitional music scene he has performed in America, Germany and the UK. Besides playing with a host of singer/songwriters at home and abroad, Conor has shared the stage with such legends as Altan and North Cregg.
Evelyn O' Connell is a native of Brosna, Co. Kerry and now resides in Cork. Her passion for traditional singing was instilled in her from both her parents from an early age. Although also a classical singer, Evelyn's first love is the traditional songs of Ireland,
England and Scotland. She has performed throughout Ireland, Australia and
Europe.

If there ever was a perfect Mycroft Holmes, it was Robert Morley, who resembled the Sidney Paget illustrations a lot. So this is for him.
Well, this clip is not an adaptation from the pages of A. C. Doyle, but the first movie having Holmes solving the case of real-life Jack the Ripper. John Neville, a very good actor, is too much of a clean, fancyful Dandy character to be my taste as Holmes, although he does fine. Donald Houston is a bore as Watson, but the movie also had a perfectly rat-faced Lestrade in Frank Finlay (who played the part again in the Seventies).
The Prime Minister is Cecil Parker, Dudley Foster played the Home Secretary.

John Neville (actor)
John Reginald Neville, CM, OBE (2 May 1925 – 19 November 2011) was an English theatre and film actor who moved to Canada in 1972. He enjoyed a resurgence of international attention in the 1980s as a result of his starring role in Terry Gilliam's The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988).
Early life and education
Neville was born in Willesden, London, the son of Mabel Lillian (née Fry) and Reginald Daniel Neville, a lorry driver. He was educated at Willesden and Chiswick County Schools for Boys, and after World War II service in the Royal Navy trained as an actor at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, before starting his professional career as a member of the Trent Players.
Career

Neville was a West End idol of the 1950s, hailed as "one of the most potent classical actors of the Burton-O'Toole generation". A leading member of London's Old Vic Company, he played many classical leading roles, including Romeo in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet (a role he repeated on American television for the anthology series Producers' Showcase), and an acclaimed Richard in Richard II, with Virginia McKenna as Queen Anne. He also alternated with Richard Burton the parts of Othello and Iago in Othello. He was a frequent visiting player at the Bristol Old Vic. He received good reviews in the musical adaptation of Lolita, called Lolita, My Love, which closed in Boston en route to Broadway.

Sherlock Holmes - A Study in Terror (1965)
If there ever was a perfect Mycroft Holmes, it was Robert Morley, who resembled the Sidney Paget illustrations a lot. So this is for him. Well, this clip is not an adaptation from the pages of A. C. Doyle, but the first movie having Holmes solving the case of real-life Jack the Ripper. John Neville, a very good actor, is too much of a clean, fancyful Dandy character to be my taste as Holmes, although he does fine. Donald Houston is a bore as Watson, but the movie also had a perfectly rat-faced Lestrade in Frank Finlay (who played the part again in the Seventies). The Prime Minister is Cecil Parker, Dudley Foster played the Home Secretary. Deluce's Patent are a contemporary Folk group covering traditional English, Irish, America and Scottish folk songs, as well as performing their original material.
The band members are: Conor O' Sullivan (Guitar, Banjo and Vocal), Adrian Spillett (Vocal, Guitar, Bouzouki and Box), Evelyn O' Connell (Vocal and Banjo), Deirdre Granville( Vocals, Fiddle, Harp and Flute). Between the four of them they have a lot of musical experience, good variety of voices and a unique sound that reflects the eclectic tastes of all members. They have a nice blend of instruments, distinctive harmonies and a strong stage presence.
Deirdre Granville studied both traditional and classical music from a young age. She has performed and toured with the Kerry Chamber and Youth Orchestras amongst others. She is an accomplished harpist, flautist and violinist and has won the All-Ireland title on the harp. A first class honours Music graduate (UCC), Deirdre has performed extensively
throughout the UK, Europe, Australia and America and now teaches and plays
regularly in her native Dingle.
Adrian Spillett has been a well established folk singer in his native Cork now for several years. As well as being a founding member of the Corner House singing session which has hosted some of Cork's finest musicians and songwriters, Adrian has performed in Germany and Australia.
Conor O' Sullivan started playing music in his early teens and since then has established himself as a well respected musician in Cork and beyond. As well as being a regular in the vibrant Cork traitional music scene he has performed in America, Germany and the UK. Besides playing with a host of singer/songwriters at home and abroad, Conor has shared the stage with such legends as Altan and North Cregg.
Evelyn O' Connell is a native of Brosna, Co. Kerry and now resides in Cork. Her passion for traditional singing was instilled in her from both her parents from an early age. Although also a classical singer, Evelyn's first love is the traditional songs of Ireland,
England and Scotland. She has performed throughout Ireland, Australia and
Europe.

The band members are: Conor O' Sullivan (Guitar, Banjo and Vocal), Adrian Spillett (Vocal, Guitar, Bouzouki and Box), Evelyn O' Connell (Vocal and Banjo), Deirdre Granville( Vocals, Fiddle, Harp and Flute). Between the four of them they have a lot of musical experience, good variety of voices and a unique sound that reflects the eclectic tastes of all members. They have a nice blend of instruments, distinctive harmonies and a strong stage presence.
Deirdre Granville studied both traditional and classical music from a young age. She has performed and toured with the Kerry Chamber and Youth Orchestras amongst others. She is an accomplished harpist, flautist and violinist and has won the All-Ireland title on the harp. A first class honours Music graduate (UCC), Deirdre has performed extensively
throughout the UK, Europe, Australia and America and now teaches and plays
regularly in her native Dingle.
Adrian Spillett has been a well established folk singer in his native Cork now for several years. As well as being a founding member of the Corner House singing session which has hosted some of Cork's finest musicians and songwriters, Adrian has performed in Germany and Australia.
Conor O' Sullivan started playing music in his early teens and since then has established himself as a well respected musician in Cork and beyond. As well as being a regular in the vibrant Cork traitional music scene he has performed in America, Germany and the UK. Besides playing with a host of singer/songwriters at home and abroad, Conor has shared the stage with such legends as Altan and North Cregg.
Evelyn O' Connell is a native of Brosna, Co. Kerry and now resides in Cork. Her passion for traditional singing was instilled in her from both her parents from an early age. Although also a classical singer, Evelyn's first love is the traditional songs of Ireland,
England and Scotland. She has performed throughout Ireland, Australia and
Europe.

If there ever was a perfect Mycroft Holmes, it was Robert Morley, who resembled the Sidney Paget illustrations a lot. So this is for him.
Well, this clip is not an adaptation from the pages of A. C. Doyle, but the first movie having Holmes solving the case of real-life Jack the Ripper. John Neville, a very good actor, is too much of a clean, fancyful Dandy character to be my taste as Holmes, although he does fine. Donald Houston is a bore as Watson, but the movie also had a perfectly rat-faced Lestrade in Frank Finlay (who played the part again in the Seventies).
The Prime Minister is Cecil Parker, Dudley Foster played the Home Secretary.

This stunningly conceived, musically vibrant Orfeo was taped at Brussels' La Monnaie in 1998. The much-lauded production later traveled to the Brooklyn Academy of Music where it was as great a success as it had been in Belgium. And indeed, anyone coming to this DVD is in for a treat, a veritable feast for both eye and ear. Choreographer/director Trisha Brown, conductor René Jacobs, and designer Roland Aeschlimann have created an ideal fusion of words, action, sight, and sound, one that never lets the viewer down and manages to tell the story in an elegant, unusual, and ultimately intensely moving manner.
The utter absence of realism in the physical production is no problem at all. The stage is bare and is dominated by a gigantic blue moon (later yellow) as backdrop; a suspended dancer moves gracefully and weightlessly in front of it as La Musica sings; the chorus (members of the Collegium Vocale) are dressed like the Trisha Brown Dancers and move about the stage with them with such comfort that they all seem part of the same family.
Brown's movements are not typical of any particular type of dance--the performers whirl and seem almost to fly. All movement is effortless and agile but at the same time remarkably clear-cut and exact. The dancers' arms create arbors for Orfeo and Euridice and they move like things in nature (all of the characters sway and use their torsos and arms with absolute grace); the opera's pastoral setting is evoked without a blade of grass. A foreboding, stage-high black structure contains Caronte, ready to take Orfeo to Hades. You watch the performance as a child would, in appreciation of something entirely new.
Orchestra and Chorus are the best to be found in any media, but there are better sung individual performances of this opera to be had on CD--one led by John Eliot Gardiner and another by René Jacobs--so this set should be seen either as an additional version or for what it is, a stunning staging of the piece with some very fine singing, and indeed, the best video version available.
Simon Keenlyside is a remarkable singing actor and proves himself lithe enough both vocally and physically to fit into this production. But he is a baritone and his dark timbre, while handsome, is not really what this music calls for. That having been said, his is a moving, intelligent portrayal and will bring few complaints. Soprano Juanita Lascarro sings La Musica and Euridice very well and she looks lovely. Graciela Odone's Messenger is properly tragic, but her voice lacks distinction.

John Hurt was the brilliant, but underrated British actor who starred for fifty years on stage, screen, and television. John Wetton was the singer/songwriter/bassist for King Crimson and most notably the 1980’s supergroup, Asia.
Sir John Vincent Hurt, CBE (22 January 1940 – 25 January 2017) was an English actor whose screen and stage career spanned six decades. Hurt was regarded as one of Britain's finest thespians;[1] director David Lynch described him as "simply the greatest actor in the world".[2]
Hurt initially came to prominence for his role as Richard Rich in the film A Man for All Seasons (1966), and gained BAFTA Award nominations for his portrayals of Timothy Evans in 10 Rillington Place (1971) and Quentin Crisp in television film The Naked Civil Servant (1975) – winning his first BAFTA for the latter. He was also visible as Caligula in BBC TV series I, Claudius (1976). Hurt's performance in prison drama Midnight Express (1978) brought him international renown, and earned Golden Globe and BAFTA Awards, along with an Academy Award nomination. His BAFTA-nominated portrayal of astronaut Kane, in science-fiction horror Alien (1979), yielded a scene which has been named by a number of publications as one of the most memorable in cinematic history.[3]
Hurt earned his third competitive BAFTA, along with his second Oscar and Golden Globe nominations, as Joseph Merrick in David Lynch's biopic The Elephant Man (1980). Other significant roles during the 1980s include Bob Champion in biopic Champions (1984), Mr. Braddock in the Stephen Frears drama The Hit (1984), Winston Smith in Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984), and Stephen Ward in the drama depicting the Profumo affair, Scandal (1989). Hurt was again BAFTA-nominated for his work in Irish drama The Field (1990), and played the primary villain, James Graham, in the epic adventure Rob Roy (1995). His later films include the Harry Potter film series (2001–11), the Hellboy films (2004 and 2008), supernatural thriller The Skeleton Key (2005), western The Proposition (2005), political thriller V for Vendetta (2006), sci-fi adventure Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008), Cold War espionage film Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011), and Jackie Kennedy biopic Jackie (2016). John Hurt was the brilliant, but underrated British actor who starred for fifty years on stage, screen, and television. Though other actors overshadowed him with their performances, none displayed his versatility, which included his role in “The Elephant Man” (1980), as Winston Smith in “Nineteen Eighty-Four” (1984), and memorable roles in the Harry Potter series, “Alien”, and on television in “I, Claudius” and “Dr. Who”. Mike Connors embodied the transforming television detective beginning with the noir 1950’s “Tightrope” (1959-19600 and culminating in the well-known series, “Mannix” (1967-1975). Barbara Hale played the redoubtable Della Street opposite Raymond Burr in the iconic drama “Perry Mason” (1957-1966). John Wetton was the singer/songwriter/bassist for King Crimson and most notably the 1980’s supergroup, Asia.
Sir John Vincent Hurt, CBE (22 January 1940 – 25 January 2017) was an English actor whose screen and stage career spanned six decades. Hurt was regarded as one of Britain's finest thespians;[1] director David Lynch described him as "simply the greatest actor in the world".[2]
Hurt initially came to prominence for his role as Richard Rich in the film A Man for All Seasons (1966), and gained BAFTA Award nominations for his portrayals of Timothy Evans in 10 Rillington Place (1971) and Quentin Crisp in television film The Naked Civil Servant (1975) – winning his first BAFTA for the latter. He was also visible as Caligula in BBC TV series I, Claudius (1976). Hurt's performance in prison drama Midnight Express (1978) brought him international renown, and earned Golden Globe and BAFTA Awards, along with an Academy Award nomination. His BAFTA-nominated portrayal of astronaut Kane, in science-fiction horror Alien (1979), yielded a scene which has been named by a number of publications as one of the most memorable in cinematic history.[3]
Hurt earned his third competitive BAFTA, along with his second Oscar and Golden Globe nominations, as Joseph Merrick in David Lynch's biopic The Elephant Man (1980). Other significant roles during the 1980s include Bob Champion in biopic Champions (1984), Mr. Braddock in the Stephen Frears drama The Hit (1984), Winston Smith in Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984), and Stephen Ward in the drama depicting the Profumo affair, Scandal (1989). Hurt was again BAFTA-nominated for his work in Irish drama The Field (1990), and played the primary villain, James Graham, in the epic adventure Rob Roy (1995). His later films include the Harry Potter film series (2001–11), the Hellboy films (2004 and 2008), supernatural thriller The Skeleton Key (2005), western The Proposition (2005), political thriller V for Vendetta (2006), sci-fi adventure Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008), Cold War espionage film Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011), and Jackie Kennedy biopic Jackie (2016). Sherlock Holmes - A Study in Terror (1965)
If there ever was a perfect Mycroft Holmes, it was Robert Morley, who resembled the Sidney Paget illustrations a lot. So this is for him. Well, this clip is not an adaptation from the pages of A. C. Doyle, but the first movie having Holmes solving the case of real-life Jack the Ripper. John Neville, a very good actor, is too much of a clean, fancyful Dandy character to be my taste as Holmes, although he does fine. Donald Houston is a bore as Watson, but the movie also had a perfectly rat-faced Lestrade in Frank Finlay (who played the part again in the Seventies). The Prime Minister is Cecil Parker, Dudley Foster played the Home Secretary. John Reginald Neville, CM, OBE was an English theatre and film actor who moved to Canada in 1972. He enjoyed a resurgence of international attention in the 1980s as a result of his starring role in Terry Gilliam's The Adventures of Baron Munchausen.

Deluce's Patent are a contemporary Folk group covering traditional English, Irish, America and Scottish folk songs, as well as performing their original material.
The band members are: Conor O' Sullivan (Guitar, Banjo and Vocal), Adrian Spillett (Vocal, Guitar, Bouzouki and Box), Evelyn O' Connell (Vocal and Banjo), Deirdre Granville( Vocals, Fiddle, Harp and Flute). Between the four of them they have a lot of musical experience, good variety of voices and a unique sound that reflects the eclectic tastes of all members. They have a nice blend of instruments, distinctive harmonies and a strong stage presence.
Deirdre Granville studied both traditional and classical music from a young age. She has performed and toured with the Kerry Chamber and Youth Orchestras amongst others. She is an accomplished harpist, flautist and violinist and has won the All-Ireland title on the harp. A first class honours Music graduate (UCC), Deirdre has performed extensively
throughout the UK, Europe, Australia and America and now teaches and plays
regularly in her native Dingle.
Adrian Spillett has been a well established folk singer in his native Cork now for several years. As well as being a founding member of the Corner House singing session which has hosted some of Cork's finest musicians and songwriters, Adrian has performed in Germany and Australia.
Conor O' Sullivan started playing music in his early teens and since then has established himself as a well respected musician in Cork and beyond. As well as being a regular in the vibrant Cork traitional music scene he has performed in America, Germany and the UK. Besides playing with a host of singer/songwriters at home and abroad, Conor has shared the stage with such legends as Altan and North Cregg.
Evelyn O' Connell is a native of Brosna, Co. Kerry and now resides in Cork. Her passion for traditional singing was instilled in her from both her parents from an early age. Although also a classical singer, Evelyn's first love is the traditional songs of Ireland,
England and Scotland. She has performed throughout Ireland, Australia and
Europe.

If there ever was a perfect Mycroft Holmes, it was Robert Morley, who resembled the Sidney Paget illustrations a lot. So this is for him.
Well, this clip is not an adaptation from the pages of A. C. Doyle, but the first movie having Holmes solving the case of real-life Jack the Ripper. John Neville, a very good actor, is too much of a clean, fancyful Dandy character to be my taste as Holmes, although he does fine. Donald Houston is a bore as Watson, but the movie also had a perfectly rat-faced Lestrade in Frank Finlay (who played the part again in the Seventies).
The Prime Minister is Cecil Parker, Dudley Foster played the Home Secretary.

In 1993, NBC aired a made-for-TV film version with a cast including John Neville, F. Murray Abraham and Kim Miyori. The film used the title and general premise of Verne's novel, but had its heroes carry out the journey in an earth-penetrating machine. A television series was supposed to follow, but was never produced.
