The jury considering the verdict in the trial of accused balcony killer Gable Tostee has been told not to speculate about a silver item he carried in his hand as he left his Gold Coast unit.
Mr Tostee, 30, has been on trial in the Brisbane Supreme Court charged with murdering New Zealand tourist Warriena Wright in the early hours of August 8, 2014.

Tostee jury struggles with decision
A 12 person jury has a string of questions for the judge as they struggle to agree on a verdict in Gable Tostee's murder trial. 7 News Queensland
The six male and six female jurors had been deliberating for almost four hours when they asked Justice John Byrne four questions about the trial.
The questions included Mr Tostee's age at the time of the alleged offence, if they should consider how drunk Ms Wright was and an item in Mr Tostee's hand seen on CCTV footage after she died.
Justice Byrne told the jury on Tuesday they should not consider Mr Tostee's conduct after the alleged offence as part of their reasoning to reach a verdict of murder or manslaughter.
He also said as Mr Tostee's age was not part of the evidence they must not draw any conclusions from it.
However, the jury is allowed to consider if Ms Wright's state of mind was influenced by alcohol, the court heard.
Mr Tostee is not alleged to have pushed or thrown Ms Wright from his 14th floor balcony but intimidated her so greatly she felt climbing over the railing was the only way to escape from him.
The trial continues.
