Amber Alert: Five children missing from Home Hill in north Queensland

Police are calling for urgent assistance to help find five children possibly at "significant risk" after going missing in north Queensland.

They issued an Amber Alert at 7am to help find the children, believed to be travelling with a 31-year-old man.

Police said the children were last seen at a residence in Third Avenue, Home Hill, about 100 kilometres south of Townsville, on Monday morning.

A six-year-old boy, and four girls aged five, four, one and two months were believed to be travelling in a car with Zane Smallwood, the father of three of the children.

Police said the car was a 2002 Ford Falcon sedan with Queensland registration 947-WKD.

They said the children were believed to be travelling in the Townsville area.
