No Place is a small village near the town of Stanley in County Durham, England, east of Stanley and west of Beamish. Situated to the south of the A693, it is home to an award-winning real ale pub, the Beamish Mary Inn (dating from 1897 and originally known as the Red Robin), and lies near the Beamish Mary coal pit. The local church is known as the "Tin Chapel".
The origins of the village's unusual name are uncertain; however, theories include a shortening of "North Place", "Near Place", or "Nigh Place", or that the original houses of the village stood on a boundary between two parishes, neither of which would accept the village. The village originally consisted of four terraced houses, known as No Place. In 1937, residents of the terrace of houses to the north, known as Co-operative Villas, demolished these houses, but took on the name for their own village.Derwentside Council tried to change the name of the village to Co-operative Villas in 1983; however, they met with strong protests from local residents at the removal of all signs pointing to No Place. Today the signs say both No Place and (at the request of some residents) Co-operative Villas.
No Place Like Home is a thriller novel written by Mary Higgins Clark and published in 2005.
The story starts with 10-year-old Liza Barton accidentally shooting and killing her mother and shooting and injuring her stepfather Ted. She is acquitted of the crime and is later adopted by some distant relatives.
Twenty-four years later, the story picks up with Liza determined to bury her past. She has changed her name to Celia Foster and married Alex Nolan after her first husband Larry's death. Alex, not aware of Celia's past, gifts her with a surprise birthday present—the keys to her own parents' home in a neighboring town Mendham. Alex, Celia and her 4-year-old son, Jack, move into the home to find that it has been vandalized. Unsure of how Alex would react to her past, Celia decides to hide it from him for some more time.
Flashes of the night her mom died come back to Celia as she sets out to find out more about what really happened that night. She discreetly tries to find information about her father's accident that led to his death a year before her mother's death. One by one, a few of the older residents of the town are murdered and some of the evidence leads to Celia being suspected. Celia finds her own life in danger, as the pursuit of the murderer's identity picks up pace.

Lyrics: I've been lost before But never thought weak On the 42nd floor of this apartment suite I'm confined between these walls Of 600 feet I've been lost I've been lost before I don't wanna repeat And it's 2AM in Tokyo Yeah I'm way too far from my own home And I'm tired of this hotel room And the building site it backs onto Oh these noises I don't recognize And lights too bright for you and I It's not hard for me to feel alone And I have heard there really is no place like home I've been lost before But never on these streets I...

I will be standing strong
I will not move along
I know a place where we can hide
And safely be as one
You say that you have come
With all your work undone
You closed the door to where
You can feel safe and clean and warm
Where it's clean and warm...
There is no place where you can feel at home
No matter what you say your will won't come
One day you'll realize
You better think of twice
You'll have to take a stand
Which means you you have to choose one side
It's a long way to go
And there's no turning back
One day I´m gonna move my home
And take it back from you
When it's clean and warm...
There is no place...
