Madurai is a major city and cultural headquarters in the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India. It is the administrative headquarters of Madurai District and the 31st largest urban agglomeration in India. Madurai is the second largest city by area and third largest city by population in Tamil Nadu. Located on the banks of River Vaigai, Madurai has been a major settlement for two millennia and is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world.
Madurai is closely associated with the Tamil language, and the third Tamil Sangam, a major congregation of Tamil scholars, is said to have been held in the city. The recorded history of the city goes back to the 3rd century BCE, being mentioned by Megasthenes, the Greek ambassador to India, and Kautilya, a minister of the Mauryan emperor Chandragupta Maurya. Signs of human settlements and Roman trade links dating back to 300BC are evident from excavations by Archeological Survey of India in Manalur. The city is believed to be of significant antiquity and has been ruled, at different times, by the Pandyas, Cholas, Madurai Sultanate, Vijayanagar Empire, Madurai Nayaks, Carnatic kingdom, and the British.
Shriya Saran (pronounced [ʂrɪjaː saːɽɳ]; born 11 September 1982), also known by the mononym Shriya, is an Indian film actress, model and presenter. She has acted in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi language films, as well as a few films in English, Malayalam and Kannada.
Saran was born in Dehradun and spent most of her childhood in Haridwar. In 2001, her dance master gave her the opportunity to appear in Renoo Nathan's debut music video "Thirakti Kyun Hawa", which brought Saran to the attention of many Indian filmmakers.
Although Saran aspired to become a well-known dancer, she was rather offered a leading role. Thus, Saran made her film debut in 2001 with the Telugu film Ishtam, and had her first commercial success with Santhosham (2002). She subsequently appeared in several more Telugu films, while making in-roads in the Hindi and Tamil film industries. In 2007, Saran starred in Sivaji, the highest-grossing Tamil film at that time. She also gained critical acclaim for her role in the 2007 Bollywood film Awarapan. In 2008, Saran played the lead role in her first English film, the American-Indian co-production The Other End of the Line. Her following projects included popular films such as Kanthaswamy (2009) in Tamil, and Pokkiri Raja (2010) in Malayalam, her roles in which established her as one of the leading actresses in the South Indian film industries. In 2012, she was cast in the British-Canadian film Midnight's Children under the direction of Deepa Mehta, based on Salman Rushdie's Booker Prize-winning novel of the same name, for which she received international critical acclaim. She achieved further commercial success by starring in films such as Pavitra (2013) and Chandra (2013). In 2014, Shriya Saran starred in the critically acclaimed Telugu film Manam, which she received accolades for her performance.

The Meenakshi Amman temple complex in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, is an awe-inspiring sight to behold, and one of the finest examples of a south Indian Hindu temple. Soaring to over 50 meters (150 feet) high, the 14 gateway towers, or gopurams, are stunningly decorated with thousands of full color carvings. We also manage to get a look inside the temple, where there is a real elephant! Technical notes: Shot in 1080p HD with a Canon 60D camera. Roadside corn drying, Chettinad mansions, lunch on banana leaves, fun night time tuk-tuk ride thru flooded Madurai, bazaar and amazing Masala milk mixing that has to be seen to be believed! South India travel video. Overseas Adventure Travel group tour Soul of India-the Colorful South, Monday 10/27/14: Tanjore to Madurai: A group of people was spreading corn on the side of the road to dry. Sudha explained that the people of the area have the right to use the road and vehicles just go around the “claimed” section. It was a little weird at the beginning because we were all thinking that the delicious bread you had been eating all this time came from corn that at some point was also spread out on some road, but we were told that this corn was meant for cattle feed-and I choose to believe it....
Que fato absurdo
Ter que viver calado
Sempre na tensão
Já não agüento
Silêncios intensos, vícios
Sempre a vencer
Se calar é tão fácil
Que eu não posso mais
Devo... deixar... isso... tudo?
Que loucura!
Saia do seu instante
Se quiser mudar
Que loucura!
Nada vem do ar
A coisa é tão simples
Que só você não percebe
Tenho que falar
Abra seu jogo
Relaxe seu ego, assuma
Se quiser amar
