Perth off-road rubbish disgrace: 'Because of you, places like this get shut'

A Hilton resident says he is "disgusted and furious" after finding a large amount of rubbish illegally dumped on a popular Perth trailbike track.

Kaya Rubin found the mess while walking on the Thomas Road trail in Kwinana on Sunday and and had a simple message for those responsible for it.

"People like you are the reason why places like this are getting shut down all around Australia," he said.

Among the debris was carpets, broken furniture, cords, old tyres and household rubbish.

Western Australia is the only state in the country to allow unlicensed riders and non-road registered motorbikes to ride in designated areas.

There are currently only five remaining off-road tracks in the state where it is allowed.

From 2006 to 2008 the Thomas Road track was closed temporarily while the Town of Kwinana attempted to privatise its management.

It has since been considered for expansion to 140 hectares under a draft Perth and Peel Green Growth plan.
