Anthony Paul Beke (born 20 July 1966), known professionally as Anton du Beke, is an English ballroom dancer and television presenter, best known as a professional dancer on the BBC One celebrity dancing show Strictly Come Dancing since the show began in 2004. In 2009, he presented the UK version of Hole in the Wall, for the BBC, replacing Dale Winton after being a team captain in 2008.
His professional dance partner since 1997 has been Erin Boag.
du Beke was born in Sevenoaks, Kent to a Hungarian father, Antal Xavier Beke (1939-2001), and a Spanish mother, Ascensión (née Lema). He also has two younger siblings. He attended Wildernesse School in Sevenoaks.
du Beke began dancing at 14, when he discovered his local dance school, the Holton School of Dancing in Sevenoaks. The school was run by Beryl Holton together with her mother Velda and later with her husband Stephen Turner. He took his first dancing exam in June 1981 and started competitive dancing a few years later. He had three partners during these formative years before the Holton School of Dancing closed in 1987 when Beryl and Stephen Turner moved with his banking career to Dorset. Du Beke left school at 16 to follow an amateur dancing career. At 17 he decided to specialise in ballroom. Whilst he danced during the evenings and at weekends he had a day job as a salesman in "The Bed Post" in Petts Wood, South London where he was known as Tony Beke.

"Joseph" is a masculine given name originating from Hebrew, recorded in the Hebrew Bible, as יוֹסֵף, Standard Hebrew Yossef, Tiberian Hebrew and Aramaic Yôsēp̄. In Arabic, including in the Qur'an, the name is spelled يوسف or Yūsuf. The name can be translated from Hebrew יהוה להוסיף YHWH Lhosif as signifying "JEHOVAH will increase/add".
In the Old Testament, Joseph is Jacob's eleventh son and Rachel's first (Yossef ben-Yaakov in the Jewish Bible). In the New Testament, Joseph is the husband of Mary, the mother of Jesus. In the New Testament there is another Joseph as well, Joseph of Arimathea, a secret disciple of Jesus who supplied the tomb in which Jesus was buried.
The form "Joseph" is used mostly in English, French and German-speaking countries. The name has enjoyed significant popularity in its many forms in numerous countries, and Joseph was one of the two names, along with Robert, to have remained in the top 10 boys' names list in the US from 1925 to 1972. It is especially common in contemporary Israel, as either "Yossi" or "Yossef", and in Italy, where the name "Giuseppe" was the most common male name in the 20th century.
Birds of a Feather is a British sitcom originally broadcast on BBC One from 1989 to 1998, then revived on ITV in 2014. Starring Pauline Quirke, Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph, it was created by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, who also wrote some of the episodes along with many other writers.
The first episode sees sisters Tracey Stubbs (Linda Robson) and Sharon Theodopolopodos (Pauline Quirke) brought together when their husbands are sent to prison for armed robbery. Sharon, who lived in an Edmonton council flat, moves into Tracey's expensive house in Chigwell, Essex. Their Jewish next-door neighbour, and later friend, Dorien Green (Lesley Joseph), is a middle-aged married woman who is constantly having affairs with younger men. In the last two BBC series, the location is changed to Hainault before returning to Chigwell in series 10 (the first aired on ITV).
The series ended its original BBC One run on Christmas Eve 1998 after nine years, but returned just over 15 years later, on 2 January 2014, on ITV for its tenth series overall, running for eight episodes. The opening episode of the new series attracted nearly 8 million viewers, giving ITV its highest rated comedy since Barbara in 2000. In January 2015, there was an eleventh series. In March 2015, it was confirmed that the show would return for a twelfth series in January 2016, which is the third on ITV.
