OTC Markets Group Announces Quarterly Index Performance and Rebalancing

NEW YORK, Oct. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- OTC Markets Group Inc. (OTCQX: OTCM), operator of financial markets for 10,000 U.S. and global securities, today announced the third quarter 2016 performance and quarterly rebalancing of the OTCQX® indexes, the OTCQB® Venture Index, the OTCM QX ADR 30 Index and the OTCM ADR Index.
The OTCQX Composite Index (.OTCQX), which tracks the overall OTCQX Best Market, rose 3.2% in the third quarter. Thirty-eight companies were added to the Index and 22 companies were removed, including DelMar Pharmaceuticals, Inc., which graduated to NASDAQ during the quarter.
The OTCQX Billion+ Index (.OTCQXBIL), which tracks the performance of OTCQX companies with a market capitalization of $1 billion or greater, was up 3.1% in the quarter. Three companies were added to the Index in the quarter: Air Canada (OTCQX: ACDVF), BASF SE (OTCQX: BFFAF) and Interconexion Electrica S.A. E.S.P. – ISA (OTCQX: IESFY). Five companies were removed.
The OTCQX Dividend Index (.OTCQXDIV), a benchmark for dividend-paying U.S. and international companies on OTCQX, was up 3.0% in the third quarter. Seven companies joined the Index in the quarter and 12 companies were removed.
The OTCQX Banks Index (.OTCQXBK), comprised of OTCQX community and regional banks, rose 4.3% in the quarter. Ten companies were added to the Index during the third quarter and four companies were removed.
The OTCQX International Index (.OTCQXINT), a benchmark for OTCQX international companies, was up 3.2% in the quarter. Thirteen companies were added to the Index in the quarter and 14 were removed.
The OTCQX U.S. Index (.OTCQXUS), comprised of U.S. based OTCQX companies, rose 2.2% in the third quarter. Twenty-five companies were added to the Index in the quarter and eight were removed.
The OTCQB Venture Index (.OTCQB), which tracks the overall OTCQB Venture Market, declined 0.7% in the third quarter. One hundred twenty-five companies were added to the index and 109 companies were removed, including Biomerica, Inc., Ekso Bionics Holdings, Inc., Long Island Iced Tea Corp. and MabVax Therapeutics Holdings, which all graduated to NASDAQ during the quarter.
The OTCM QX ADR 30 Index (.OTCQX30), powered by BNY Mellon DR IndicesSM and comprised of the 30 largest, most actively-traded American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) on OTCQX, was down 7.4% in the third quarter. Three companies were added to the Index in the quarter and 19 companies were removed.
The OTCM ADR Index (.OTCDR), powered by BNY Mellon DR Indices and comprised of ADRs traded on the OTCQX, OTCQB and Pink® markets, was up 3.6% in the quarter. Turkiye Garanti Bankasi A.S. (OTCQX: TKGBY) was added to the Index in the third quarter and one company was removed.

All indexes are market capitalization-weighted and adjusted on a quarterly basis for additions and share changes over 5% during the months of March, June, September and December. In the case of ADRs, the DR ratio is considered. Dividends are re-invested as of the close of business the day before the ex-dividend date.
The OTCQX Composite Index, OTCQX Billion+ Index, OTCQX Dividend Index, OTCQX International Index, OTCQX U.S. Index, OTCQX Banks Index and OTCQB Venture Index have minimum liquidity screens to ensure tradability.
