Most Buddhist Temples in Korea are built on mountains. This one is unique in that it is built on the sea in Busan. This is both a tourist attraction, and an active place of worship. This was our outing to learn about history, gain more context, and to visit the museum next door.
Today we got to cover more of Busan like the fish market, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple and Gwangan Bridge.

Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is different from other temples as they normally built on the hill or in the woods. However, Haedong Yonggung Temple is unique because it's built on the coast. You can see this magnificent temple from different viewing decks at different angle and you will find out why it is called as Haedong Yonggung Temple.
Jalgachi Market and Gukje Market are located at the traditional market of the Nampo-dong area. First of all, let me explain what kind of market the Jalgachi Market is. Actually, Jalgachi Market is a seafood market! It is well known that Busan is the biggest port in Korea and therefore it is obvious that Busan has abundant seafood resources! There are all kinds of seafood in Jalgachi Market such as octopus, crab, prawns, deep-sea fish and lots of seafood which I don't even know their names. But most important is seafood there is bigger than other place's. Some seafood even looks quite terrified!

Located against the majestic blue sea, Haedong Younggung Temple is one of three Buddhist Temples in Korea dedicated to the Goddess Buddha. It's located near the seaside city of Busan in southern Korea. When visiting this area of the country, this is a place not to be missed.
To get to the temple, bus 181 is the easiest way to get there. If you're traveling and have your bags with you, store them in lockers at either the Busan Train Station, Express Bus Terminal, or Haundae Station. All three locations are serviced by bus 181, but your travel time to Yonggungsa Bus Stop will vary by starting point (60 min. from the train station, 90 min. from BXBT, and 30 min. from Haundae).

After being to Beomeosa Temple on the slopes of Mt. Geumjeongsan it was time to complete the perfect circle of Feng Shui on one day and head over to Haedong Yonggungsa, Temple by the Sea. Haesu Gwaneum Daebul (Seawater Great Goddess Buddha), Daeungjeon Main Sanctuary, Yongwangdang Shrine, Gulbeop Buddhist Sanctum (enclosed in a cave), and a three-story pagoda with four lions can all be seen looking out over the ocean.
We took metro again to Jangsan station (201) and from there it was easiest and fastest to take a taxi for another 10-15 minutes until arriving at the temple.
"Haedong Yonggung Temple (Hangul: 해동 용궁사) is a Buddhist temple in Gijang-gun, Busan, South Korea. The temple was built in 1376 by the teacher known as Naong during the Goryeo Dynasty. The temple complex is a large one and one of few in Korea to be set on the seaside. As such, combined with its proximity to Haeundae Beach and the east side of Busan, the temple is popular with sightseers, particularly during Buddha's Birthday celebrations when the complex is decorated with paper lanterns."

One of the biggest holiday of the year in Korea is Buddha's Birthday, celebrated by millions of people. My third of five videos to celebrate this wonderful holiday is at Haedong Yonggungsa Temple. I chose this temple to visit because in my opinion, this is one of the most unique temples in all of Korea. Since it's located in Busan, you'll be able to enjoy the beautiful city. Haedong Yonggungsa Temple (해동 용궁사) - Busan/South Korea
After being to Beomeosa Temple on the slopes of Mt. Geumjeongsan it was time to complete the perfect circle of Feng Shui on one day and head over to Haedong Yonggungsa, Temple by the Sea. Haesu Gwaneum Daebul (Seawater Great Goddess Buddha), Daeungjeon Main Sanctuary, Yongwangdang Shrine, Gulbeop Buddhist Sanctum (enclosed in a cave), and a three-story pagoda with four lions can all be seen looking out over the ocean. We took metro again to Jangsan station (201) and from there it was easiest and fastest to take a taxi for another 10-15 minutes until arriving at the temple. You can see this magnificent temple from different viewing decks at different angle and you will find out why it is called as Haedong Yonggung Temple.
Jalgachi Market and Gukje Market are located at the traditional market of the Nampo-dong area. First of all, let me explain what kind of market the Jalgachi Market is. Actually, Jalgachi Market is a seafood market! It is well known that Busan is the biggest port in Korea and therefore it is obvious that Busan has abundant seafood resources! There are all kinds of seafood in Jalgachi Market such as octopus, crab, prawns, deep-sea fish and lots of seafood which I don't even know their names. But most important is seafood there is bigger than other place's. Some seafood even looks quite terrified!

Located against the majestic blue sea, Haedong Younggung Temple is one of three Buddhist Temples in Korea dedicated to the Goddess Buddha. It's located near the seaside city of Busan in southern Korea. When visiting this area of the country, this is a place not to be missed.
