In real estate, a lot or plot is a tract or parcel of land owned or meant to be owned by some owner(s). A lot is essentially considered a parcel of real property in some countries or immovable property (meaning practically the same thing) in other countries. Possible owner(s) of a lot can be one or more person(s) or another legal entity, such as a company/corporation, organization, government, or trust. A common form of ownership of a lot is called fee simple in some countries.
A lot may also be defined as a small area of land that is empty except for pavement or similar improvement. An example would be a parking lot. This article covers lots as parcels of land meant to be owned as units by an owner(s).
Like most other types of real estate, lots owned by private parties are subject to a periodic real estate tax payable by the owners to local governments such as a county or municipality. These real estate taxes are based on the assessed value of the real property; additional taxes usually apply to transfer of ownership and property sales. Other fees by government are possible for improvements such as curbs and sidewalks or an impact fee for building a house on a vacant lot.
The Vacant Lot was a short-lived comedy sketch show which CBC Television ran for only six episodes starting in December 1993. The Vacant Lot was extended for another 13 episodes, but the CBC later changed their minds and the remaining 13 episodes, although scripted, were never taped.
CBC sold the show to Comedy Central, which did not air the episodes until July 1994. The Vacant Lot was shown as a Fourth of July marathon on that network.
Nick McKinney, a member of The Vacant Lot, is the brother of The Kids in the Hall member and Saturday Night Live veteran Mark McKinney. The show's other cast members were Rob Gfroerer, Vito Viscomi, and Paul Greenberg.
The Vacant Lot's opening theme music was "Pretty Vacant" by The Sex Pistols.

The Vacant Lots have developed a layered and powerful sound with only two people that combines a minimalist aesthetic of rock n roll with hypnotic guitar riffs, intense drum patterns, dynamic electronics, poetry-driven lyrics and live visual projections.
The group has cited Native American drumming, Indian tanpura, early rock n roll, The Gun Club, and Television as major influences on their sound.

New York is a state in the Northeastern United States and is the United States' 27th-most extensive, fourth-most populous, and seventh-most densely populated state. New York is bordered by New Jersey and Pennsylvania to the south and Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont to the east. The state has a maritime border in the Atlantic Ocean with Rhode Island, east of Long Island, as well as an international border with the Canadian provinces of Quebec to the north and Ontario to the west and north. The state of New York, with an estimated 19.8 million residents in 2015, is often referred to as New York State to distinguish it from New York City, the state's most populous city and its economic hub.
With an estimated population of nearly 8.5 million in 2014, New York City is the most populous city in the United States and the premier gateway for legal immigration to the United States. The New York City Metropolitan Area is one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world. New York City is a global city, exerting a significant impact upon commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment, its fast pace defining the term New York minute. The home of the United Nations Headquarters, New York City is an important center for international diplomacy and has been described as the cultural and financial capital of the world, as well as the world's most economically powerful city. New York City makes up over 40% of the population of New York State. Two-thirds of the state's population lives in the New York City Metropolitan Area, and nearly 40% live on Long Island. Both the state and New York City were named for the 17th century Duke of York, future King James II of England. The next four most populous cities in the state are Buffalo, Rochester, Yonkers, and Syracuse, while the state capital is Albany.
Very first episode of the sketch comedy show from the canadian comedy troupe, "The Vacant Lot." First aired in 1994. With members, - Paul Greenberg - Nick McKinney - Rob Gfroerer & Vito Viscomi. The show sadly, only ran for 6 episodes before being cancelled, but in that time they had some classic sketches & I think it was one of the best comedy shows ever made & it would have been even better if they'd have been given more of a chance. Enjoy! crappy VHS rip from 1994... aired in the US with alternating episodes of "Kids in the Hall" on July 4th because that makes perfect sense for a couple of Canadian sketch shows, right? (if this stuff ever gets a proper commercial release i swear i'll take this down BUT NOT BEFORE) Rob Gfroerer / Vito Viscomi / Nick McKinney / Paul Greenberg
The Vacant Lot : P. Ciccone : guitar, vocals / P. Corio : drums / B. Wilder : bass / J. Mitro : guitar. "New York band The Vacant Lot are still fairly much an unknown commodity, but that's bound to start changing pretty soon as they begin to get some records out and people outside of the city get a chance to hear their fabulous brand of punk rock flavored power pop. The Vacant Lot favor the energetic side of punk and the melodic side of sixties garage pop and blend them together in a way that produces the kind of tunes that stick in your head all day if you play their stuff once in the morning. The best indication where they're coming from perhaps comes from the fact that they cover the Real Kids' great "All Kindsa Girls" and play it a little faster than the original while hanging onto the...

24 hours, some time ago
since you were around
there's a lot of people here
since the building came down
since the building came down
24 hours, some time ago
since you were around
no guards, no answerphones
since the building came down
since they pulled it down
Now I've seen a lot of people
around here
this kind of thing
must stop
(caught dumb again), can't read
this vacant lot
24 hours, some time ago
since you were around
there's a lot of people here
since the building came down
since you left town
24 hours who's counting?
well I'm allowed
No calls no messages
since the building came down
since the building came down
24 hours, some time ago
since you were around
there's a lot of people here
just standing round
