In this mini documentary we take a look at some Easter eggs, secrets, and history of the Nintendo 3DS. The Nintendo 3DS is a handheld game console by Nintendo, and is the successor to the Nintendo DS (NDS). The system is capable of displaying stereoscopic 3D and has received several revisions such as the Nintendo 3DS XL, the Nintendo 2DS and the New Nintendo 3DS. The console's price was reduced from $249 to $169 amid disappointing launch sales. Nintendo offered free Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Game Boy Advance (GBA) games from the eShop through emulated gameplay to consumers who bought the system at the original launch price. This move paid off, as the Nintendo 3DS systems combined have sold over 60 million units. We hope our analysis of the 3DS explained the inner workings of device and its games. The Nintendo 3DS is finally upon us, and while you can't exactly call it the first portable 3D gaming system (Hello, Virtual Boy!), it definitely looks like this will be the most successful one yet. The pre-orders alone passed those for the Nintendo Wii, so it seems a lock that the 3DS will go on to be pretty successful.
Thus far the Nintendo 3DS is only available in aqua blue and black, although we are sure more colors will appear down the road. We've got a black one for your unboxing viewing, and while there isn't a whole lot of surprises to be had in the actual box, the device does feel surprisingly light. Considering how much tech is packed into this thing, kudos to the folks at Nintendo!
Also worthy of being noted is that it is backwards compatible with the DSi and DS, so you won't have a pile of old games laying around that are now useless to you. Always a good thing when companies keep this in mind when building a new platform.

Nintendo 3DS
The Nintendo 3DS (Japanese: ニンテンドー3DS, Hepburn: Nintendō Surī Dī Esu, abbreviated to 3DS) is a portable game console produced by Nintendo. It is capable of displaying stereoscopic 3D effects without the use of 3D glasses or additional accessories. Nintendo announced the device in March 2010 and officially unveiled it at E3 2010 on June 15, 2010. The console succeeds the Nintendo DS, featuring backward compatibility with older Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi video games, and competes with the Sony's PlayStation Vita handheld console.
The handheld offers new features such as the StreetPass and SpotPass tag modes, powered by Nintendo Network; augmented reality, using its 3D cameras; and Virtual Console, which allows owners to download and play games originally released on older video game systems. It is also pre-loaded with various applications including these: an online distribution store called Nintendo eShop, a social networking service called Miiverse; an Internet Browser; the Netflix, Hulu Plus and YouTube streaming video services; Nintendo Video; a messaging application called Swapnote (known as Nintendo Letter Box in Europe and Australia); and Mii Maker.

In this mini documentary we take a look at some Easter eggs, secrets, and history of the Nintendo 3DS. The Nintendo 3DS is a handheld game console by Nintendo, and is the successor to the Nintendo DS (NDS). The system is capable of displaying stereoscopic 3D and has received several revisions such as the Nintendo 3DS XL, the Nintendo 2DS and the New Nintendo 3DS. The console's price was reduced from $249 to $169 amid disappointing launch sales. Nintendo offered free Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Game Boy Advance (GBA) games from the eShop through emulated gameplay to consumers who bought the system at the original launch price. This move paid off, as the Nintendo 3DS systems combined have sold over 60 million units. We hope our analysis of the 3DS explained the inner workings of device and its games. The Nintendo 3DS is finally upon us, and while you can't exactly call it the first portable 3D gaming system (Hello, Virtual Boy!), it definitely looks like this will be the most successful one yet. The pre-orders alone passed those for the Nintendo Wii, so it seems a lock that the 3DS will go on to be pretty successful.
Thus far the Nintendo 3DS is only available in aqua blue and black, although we are sure more colors will appear down the road. We've got a black one for your unboxing viewing, and while there isn't a whole lot of surprises to be had in the actual box, the device does feel surprisingly light. Considering how much tech is packed into this thing, kudos to the folks at Nintendo!
Also worthy of being noted is that it is backwards compatible with the DSi and DS, so you won't have a pile of old games laying around that are now useless to you. Always a good thing when companies keep this in mind when building a new platform.

I still enjoy my 3DS, and the Wii U gets a surprising amount of usage in our house since the kiddos love Mario Kart. But I don’t see any way we get a NX or whatever it’s going to be called. The U was such a disappointment in terms of games. 3rd party went all to hell, but even Nintendo did’t do much with their own stuff ... ....

It’s still a rumor, but...we’re pretty confident there will be something related to Nintendo’s upcoming console breaking next week ... While we wait to see what Nintendo’s preparing to roll out next, here are some games we’d really love to ship alongside the (possibly) handheld/console hybrid ... Or, make a faithful side-scrolling 2.5D game with similar ideas as Super Metroid on the Super Nintendo ... Nintendo Kart....

The latest iteration of the open world action-adventure video game “The Legend of Zelda” has already been confirmed by Japanese gaming company Nintendo to come out on the Wii U and its latest gaming platform, the NX, by next year, although it has yet to make an announcement to the game’s exact release date ... It has become the standard for Nintendo to release an Amiibo figure close to the release date of an upcoming game....

Rather than have two concurrent Mario RPG series, Nintendo has kept most of that genre’s trappings confined to the Mario & Luigi series for over a decade ... The 3DS title eliminated XP and leveling, severely handicapping any sense of progression ... Each time I encountered an enemy, it felt like a punch to the gut ... Then, I’d encounter an area filled with enemies and I’d be reminded of how thoroughly Nintendo dropped the ball with this game ... ....
