Research

Basic and applied research programs cross all disciplines at Towson University and provide the foundation for viable solutions to some of the region’s most pressing needs.

Towson’s collegial academic environment fosters multidisciplinary research and scholarship that complements current knowledge in the field and leads to superior teaching.  From bioterrorism studies to the latest in teacher development, our applied research programs involve students, faculty, the community, government and the private sector.

Pursuing Partnerships

Towson’s focus on innovation and entrepreneurship facilitates collaboration and strategic partnerships with the community and the state. Towson welcomes partnerships that engage the expertise of its faculty and staff members. Professionals in our Office of Sponsored Programs and Research can help identify funding opportunities, develop project ideas into proposals, and submit complete and competitive proposals. Our Office of Undergraduate Research supports undergraduate research through research grants, travel grants and small project awards.
