Ferrari prangs on Great Eastern Highway during luxury car cruise

Date: October 17 2016

If you think you're having a bad day, spare a thought for this driver who had a very costly prang in Perth's southern suburbs while cruising in a group of four luxury cars.

According to witness, Mitchell Reardon, the Ferrari driver had just taken off from traffic lights near Rivervale, when his car spun out of control around 2pm on Monday.

"I didn't actually see the crash, I was probably 30 seconds behind it, but I heard all four of them rev past me," he said.

"There were three other cars with him, other Ferraris, or maybe Lamborghinis.

"There were skid marks all across the road - and the way he's gone up [on the footpath] - I reckon he spun out and ended up there.

"When I'd pulled around the corner, three of the cars had pulled over on the side of the road and the other one was facing back the other way with pretty much the bonnet destroyed."

Mr Reardon said he saw the group of men with their hands on their hips, as they inspected the damage.

The incident temporarily closed the left lane of the highway, but the vehicle has since been cleared.

Ferrari's come with a hefty price tag, usually between $200,000 to $450,000.

WAtoday understands there was luxury car show near the site of the incident earlier on Monday.
