Peter Philip Smith OAM (born 29 May 1939 in Melbourne, Victoria) is an Australian radio and television voice-over artist. He is primarily known for his work with GTV-9 Melbourne as their announcer, including being the announcer on the nationally screened quiz show Sale of the Century for twenty-one years.
Peter was educated at Wesley College, Melbourne.
Upon leaving school, Smith joined the Australian Broadcasting Corporation as a messenger boy before progressing through the ranks to an announcer on the home service and Radio Australia.
On radio in the 1960s, Pete worked with radio station 3AK as a "Good Guy" and with Bert Newton on the Greater 3UZ as it was known during the seventies. From 1995 to 1998, he was a regular voice-over announcer on the national drive-time show Martin/Molloy alongside comedians Tony Martin and Mick Molloy.
Since this time he has made guest appearances on comedy-based radio programmes, including Get This with Tony Martin and Tough Love with Mick Molloy, both aired on Triple M.

Bob goes to Ethiopia and, horrified at the scale of the famine, plans a global rock concert to be staged simultaneously in England and America the next summer. He brings in hard-headed rock promoter Harvey Goldsmith who provides a realistic anchor to Bob's idealistic wish-list of performers. Preparations are fraught with arguments, and Bob is especially disappointed not to secure Bruce Springsteen, in anticipation of whose services he postponed the event. After addressing his old school, where he was less than academically bright but hopes to inspire the students, and with five days before the big event, Bob gets involved with the complicated matter of financial logistics and organizing international broadcasts but gets Prince Charles and Princess Diana to attend simply by asking them. Finally the day of the concerts arrives and, as Paul McCartney sings 'Let it Be', Harvey and Bob know that they have triumphed. The show over, the two men sit alone to reflect on matters.

One night, after hearing shots, Smith gives shelter to a wounded man, whom he hides from Coughlin. Before leaving, the man, Marcas, promises to return the favor and the coat he borrows from him. Later, Smith enters the police, and his chief, Mather, suspects he is protecting Marcas, who is actually a gangster. Marcas sends a girl, Mary Monks, to deliver a luxurious coat with a fur collar to Smith. Pete and Mary get along well, and for his sake, she betrays Marcas, who is eventually shot to death by the cops, after having stopped his mob from killing Smith. Mary goes away alone into the night, and when Mather finds out that Pete is protecting her, he drops away the evidence of her presence on the spot.

The British Gamelan Trail. Pete Smith is the director of The Oxford Gamelan Society, a member of Southbank Gamelan Players and leading Gamelan groups in many other places. The British Gamelan Trail is an oral history project to find out how gamelan has become so popular that it is now part of the British heritage. When I first came to London in 1999, I was amazed to discover how many gamelan there were here. I wondered how did this come about? What made people here want to learn the music of so distant a culture? What attracted or inspired them to learn gamelan? And how on earth does it fit in British Society? Cream - Ginger Baker at Royal Albert Hall, London. November 26th, 1968 9 of 11 "Farewell Concert" is the live recording of the Cream's final concert at the Royal Albert Hall on November 26th, 1968. Directed by Tony Palmer, the film incorporates pieces of six performances with narration by BBC announcer Patrick Allen, along with interviews with the band members themselves, showcasing their playing abilities. The film has often been criticized for both its mediocre sound and visual effects. In 2005, a special extended edition of the concert appeared featuring full versions of all songs separated from the narration and interviews. The new version featured digitally remastered sound and video including three bonus songs.

Edward Keith Smith was born in Melbourne in 1917. He was taken out of school at age 13 as his parents could not afford to keep him there. He went to work in a foundry, doing painful and exhausting work, before being offered an apprenticeship as a signwriter. He started selling his comedy sketches to radio stations and appearing in radio plays for the ABC. He served in New Guinea and the Solomon Islands during World War II. On discharge in 1946 he moved to Sydney, where his career as an actor and writer took off. Smith's most popular program was "The Pied Piper" (initially radio, later on television), in which he conducted candid interviews with children. He also devised and wrote (with veteran radio writer George Foster) the scripts for the 13 episodes of the television series "Mrs. Finneg...

There's probably one senior guy at work who tells you this at least once a month. You've got an idea for an amazing new feature or practice that's going to save your company both time and money, but it's too 'cutting edge'; your management fears the unfamiliar and you are cruelly stifled. "It doesn't work like that in Enterprise" is a passionate and motivational story about my journey as a developer in the face of one of the worst fallacies in our industry. The extremes of my experience will make you laugh & cry in equal measure, and maybe help put your own frustrations into perspective. Just remember, it does get better... and you probabl...
Here we go around again
Curve of life spiraling
Everything we've ever known
As the seed of life gets blown
And the miracle of time
When will that time just end?
Remember, you decide to take that vow
Grab that ring it's not a whim, not a whim
When you'd be cashing in
Try to turn your life around
And all the things you do resound
And then you can't lose control
Say, your time has come and then
Hard to pinpoint find the seam
Where that one time ends
Where that time begins
Remember, you decide take to that vow
Take a stand, grab that ring
It's not a whim, it's not a whim
It's only time that you're cashing in
In the white noise of desire
We can't hear a single thing
Floating 'round the fragile bough
The afflictions of the human soul
It's beauty immaterial
You decide, stand along the fallen ones
Take revenge, defeated sons
Rend that coat from seam to seam
It's only time, it's only time
That you spend, you spend
It's only time, you spend
It's only time, you spend
