Dublin Airport, (Irish: Aerfort Bhaile Átha Cliath) (IATA: DUB, ICAO: EIDW), is an international airport serving Dublin, the capital city of Ireland. It is operated by daa. The airport is located 5.4 nmi (10.0 km; 6.2 mi) north of Dublin in Collinstown, County Dublin. In 2015, over 25 million passengers passed through the airport making it the airport's busiest year on record. It is also the busiest of the state's airports by total passenger traffic. It also has the greatest traffic levels on the island of Ireland followed by Belfast International Airport, County Antrim.
The airport has an extensive short and medium haul network, served by an array of carriers as well as some intercontinental routes focused in the Middle East and North America. It serves as the headquarters of Ireland's flag carrier – Aer Lingus, regional airline Stobart Air, Europe's largest low-cost carrier – Ryanair, ASL Airlines Ireland, together with a fifth airline, CityJet, which does not maintain major operations here.
Dublin (/ˈdʌblᵻn/, Irish: Baile Átha Cliath [blʲaːˈklʲiəh]) is the capital and largest city of Ireland. Dublin is in the province of Leinster on Ireland's east coast, at the mouth of the River Liffey. The city has an urban area population of 1,273,069. The population of the Greater Dublin Area, as of 2011, was 1,801,040 persons.
Founded as a Viking settlement, the Kingdom of Dublin became Ireland's principal city following the Norman invasion. The city expanded rapidly from the 17th century and was briefly the second largest city in the British Empire before the Acts of Union in 1800. Following the partition of Ireland in 1922, Dublin became the capital of the Irish Free State, later renamed Ireland.
Dublin is administered by a City Council. The city is listed by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network (GaWC) as a global city, with a ranking of "Alpha-", placing it among the top thirty cities in the world. It is a historical and contemporary centre for education, the arts, administration, economy and industry.
On Wednesday I headed to Ireland primarily to spot at DUB. All I can say is, It was absolutely amazing! We got to the first spotting location. The runway 28 mounds at about 10am where we caught some epic heavy rotations as runway 10 was in use. Shortly after, a very friendly local spotter gave us a lift down the runway to the Runway 10 mounds outside the horizon business park. The view from here was incredible. We stayed till about half 3 before making our way back to the terminal, but no one wanted to leave! The weather was perfect. Really warm and sunny but with a 17 knot crosswind making some landings interesting! As far as movements go, we were not disappointed. Honeywell 757, WOW Air A320, Avanti Air F100 just to name a few! There were even a couple of waving pilots so look out for al...
Another amazing day at DUB, Very poor weather made for some breathtaking condensation shots along with a few bumpy landings and waving pilots! Movement wise we were spoit for choice with not one but two of the CityJet Sukhoi Superjets turning up. EI-FWA and FWB landed within 10 minutes of eachother! Air Europa,Sunwing and Ryanair Dreamliner 737's, Alitalia A320, Belavia CRJ-200. All caught as well! It was also great to meet up with the same local spotter who gave us a lift last time. If it wasn't for him we would have missed the SSJ's. He was also kind enough to give us a lift to the airport! What a great guy! Quite a lengthy compilation so sit back, relax and enjoy! Also look out for the return FR446 flight on EI-EKT with an amazing engine view and buzzsaw sound! Thanks for watching! -Su...
This video is property of 'The Aviators' 1080p HD! Another great day at Dublin once again on this day of Monday 27th June 2016, This time no rain forecasted. Lots of interesting A/C movements and football flights returning fans back from France. The reason of my visit was to catch (EI-FWA) Sukhoi Superjet 100-95B, which I knew was operating from Dublin and hoping I would see it and it payed off! Also (EC-MIO) A330-343 WOW, night previous the flight was down as A320, then morning switched to A321 and I didn't expect to see the A330 which stared a big crowd of local spotters. Nice to (YR-FZA) Fokker F100 Carpatair which we missed out on at Liverpool which was a no show on a football charter. Lots of great sounds, schemes, close ups & aircraft! I have included all flight numbers and dest...
http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com A torrential rain storm accompanied us as we took the Airlink 747 bus that left directly across our hotel to the Dublin Airport. What do you expect after two sunny, blue sky days? Told by United Airlines personnel that we had to check in three hours before the flight back to Newark, Steve and I arrived at 6a and discovered check-in counters don't open until two hours before the flight! Dublin Airport is light, airy, and easy to get around. Travelers to the US are giving Customs Forms at check-in, go through security and then wait for US Customs Pre-clearance to open. I had never heard of any such thing and don't know if Dublin is the only airport to do this or if others in the EU Community also have a pre-clearance. However, once through, there is one more...
A short video describing how to use the United States Customs and Border Protection (USCBP) facility at Terminal 2 in Dublin Airport. The United States Customs and Border Protection (USCBP) facility at Terminal 2 in Dublin Airport is a purpose built facility that allows US bound passengers to undertake all immigration, customs and agriculture inspections at Dublin prior to departure.Having cleared USCBP, passengers arriving in the US are treated as domestic arrivals, which allows for a faster processing through their arrival airport in the United States including the checking through of any baggage to the traveller's final destination. Dublin Airport is one of only a handful of airports outside North America that offer the CBP facility.
Birmingham airport notified Dublin about two pieces of rubber being found at the intersection and so they asked for emergency services on landing. The pilot declared a Pan pan.

This is a short video to show the route from the car rental compounds at Dublin airport to the M50. For some of the rental companies, you can collect the rental car, very close to the terminals, in which case, the directions on this video do not become relevant until point 1:39 on the video, where you will join this roundabout (as the red car is doing), and you take the 2nd exit of the roundabout, signposted M50/M1/City Centre. The journey time should take you about 7/8 minutes to the start of the M50. At 4:15 and 4:59, It also show two of the main exits off the M50 that visitors will be taking: - Jct 7 for Athlone, Galway, Longford, Westport and the west in general. Jct 9 for Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford, Cashel, Cork, Limerick and the south in general At 5:50, it shows the return route t...
