Towson University offers the most comprehensive sports program in the metropolitan Baltimore area, fielding 19 NCAA Division I varsity teams that compete in the Colonial Athletic Association, the nation’s top mid-major conference. We’ve got a sport for every type of fan.

Tiger fans fill the stands at Johnny Unitas® Stadium to watch our football, field hockey, lacrosse and track teams compete. John B. Schuerholz Park is our baseball park, and Burdick Pool is the venue for swimming and diving. Our basketball, gymnastics and volleyball teams play at our new 5,200-seat SECU Arena.

The Towson Sports Network broadcasts live and pre-recorded programming ranging from Tiger Talk, our weekly radio show, to features with Towson head coaches and live streams of athletic events. Fans can also follow coaches and teams on Facebook and Twitter.

Campus Recreation

TU offers countless ways to stay in shape and have fun! Towson students, faculty and staff have free access to all Campus Recreation facilities, including the fitness center, gymnasiums, pool and turf fields. 

Campus Rec programs are a great way to stay active through sports and exercise, learn new skills, and meet new people.  

 

Aquatics & Safety

Burdick Pool, a 25-yard, eight-lane pool, is located in Burdick Hall. You can get in shape through lap swim, recreational swim, or special programming, such as swim lessons. Campus Rec also offers a variety of American Red Cross safety courses, including CPR, AED and First Aid. Learn more about aquatics at Towson.

Competitive Sports

TU students participate in a variety of sport activities offered through Campus Recreation’s Sport Clubs and Intramural Sports. With many sport teams available at varying levels of competition, there’s something for all sports-loving students and for those who just want to have some fun being active with friends.

Fitness

From free weights and cardio machines, to group fitness and personal training, Campus Recreation supports the Towson community’s pursuit of a healthy, active lifestyle. Get more information about the Fitness Center in Burdick Hall. 

Outdoor Adventures

Check out Outdoor Adventures for opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. In addition to on-campus clinics in kayaking and programs on the challenge course in TU’s Glen Woods, Outdoor Adventures regularly takes students on trips for backpacking, camping, climbing, and more.

Burdick Hall Renovations

Burdick Hall is currently undergoing extensive construction that will expand the facility by 94,000 square feet. The expansion will provide the TU community with increased space for recreational activities within modern facilities. The expansion is set for completion in 2017.
