Richard Paul "Rick" Astley (
/ˈrɪk ˈæstli/; born 6 February 1966) is an English singer-songwriter, musician, and radio personality. He is known for his 1987 song, "Never Gonna Give You Up", which was a #1 hit single in 25 countries. Astley holds the record for being the only male solo artist to have his first 8 singles reach the Top 10 in the UK and by retirement in 1993 had sold approximately 40 million records worldwide.
After retiring from the music industry in 1993, Astley made a comeback in 2007 when he became an Internet phenomenon, as his video for "Never Gonna Give You Up" became part of a popular Internet meme known as "Rickrolling". Astley was voted "Best Act Ever" by Internet users at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2008.
Richard Paul Astley was born on 6 February 1966 in Newton-le-Willows, Lancashire, England, becoming the fourth child of his family. His parents divorced when he was five, and Astley was brought up by his father. His musical career started when he was ten, singing in the local church choir. During his schooldays, Astley formed and played the drums in a number of local bands, where he met guitarist David Morris. After leaving school at sixteen, Astley was employed during the day as a driver in his father's market-gardening business and played drums on the Northern club circuit at night in bands such as “Give Way” - specialising in covering Beatles and Shadows songs - and “FBI”, which won several local talent competitions.

Neil Ellwood Peart ( /ˈpɪərt/; born September 12, 1952), OC, is a Canadian musician and author. He is the drummer and lyricist for the rock band Rush. Peart has received numerous awards for his musical performances, and is known for his technical proficiency and stamina.
Peart grew up in Port Dalhousie, Ontario (now part of St. Catharines). During adolescence, he floated from regional band to regional band in pursuit of a career as a full-time drummer. After a discouraging stint in England to concentrate on his music, Peart returned home, where he joined a local Toronto band, Rush, in the summer of 1974.
Early in his career, Peart's performance style was deeply rooted in hard rock. He drew most of his inspiration from drummers such as Keith Moon and John Bonham, players who were at the forefront of the British hard rock scene. As time passed, however, he began to emulate jazz and big band musicians Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich. In 1994, Peart became a friend and pupil of jazz instructor Freddie Gruber. It was during this time that Peart decided to revamp his playing style by incorporating jazz and swing components. Gruber was also responsible for introducing him to the products of Drum Workshop, the company whose products Peart currently endorses.

A 26 per cent rise in rates helped revenue per available room -- the standard measure used by hotels -- reach one of its highest levels since it opened in 2005, said the hotel manager Alexander Schneider.
"Despite the opening of many other luxury hotels and resorts in Abu Dhabi, Emirates Palace has continued to achieve a very high performance over the past years," said Mr Schneider.
The hotel, meanwhile, hopes to raise its international profile further -- as a backdrop for film productions. "Emirates Palace is the only venue in the region qualified to offer a unique backdrop for film shootings and to curate a movie premiere screening in its auditorium at the same time," Mr Schneider added.
Abu Dhabi is expected to add as many as 6,000 new hotel rooms over the next three years according to CBRE Middle East, the property broker.
"There is still a lot of supply to come up but that also makes it far more affordable than Dubai and travellers from within the UAE will remain one of its key markets," said Matthew Green, the head of research and consultancy at CBRE. The broker expects hotel occupancy in Abu Dhabi to rise from about 65 per cent in 2012 to about 70 per cent this year.
Emirates Palace is currently focusing on Chinese, Indian and Latin American markets as Etihad Airways funnels more travellers from those countries through the emirate. India is Abu Dhabi's largest tourism market in terms of the number of guests.
Emirates Palace has also become a popular wedding venue for families from India, Russia and China, said Mr Schneider.
The capital's flagship hotel is owned by the Government of Abu Dhabi, and is managed by the Geneva-based Kempinski Hotels.

The Emirates Palace is a seven star luxury hotel in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Emirates Palace is located on 1.3 km of private beach and surrounded by 85 hectares of gardens, with 114 domes that are 80 meters high. It is a 30 minute drive from Abu Dhabi airport and 1.5 hours drive from Dubai airport.
The building was designed by architect, John Elliott RIBA, who was Senior Vice President at Wimberly, Allison, Tong and Goo, (WATG) an international firm specialising in Luxury Hotels. It opened in November 2005 but certain restaurants and spas did not open until 2006. The hotel was built by and is owned by the Abu Dhabi government, and is currently managed by the Kempinski Group.
The costs to build the hotel were 3.9 billion GBP or 11.02 billion AED or about 6 billion USD. The Emirates Palace occupies 850,000m² of floor space. Now it is time to take that vocabulary and put it into a sequence. You can think of this, your vocabulary, as being letters and your sequence as being words.
So we are writing or choreographing a beginner Irish Dance routine.
In this example we'll use three of our basic Irish Dance moves, the first being skips, which we'll demonstrate for you here. A series of three skips. And one-two-three, two-two-three, three-two-three. We will also use point hop backs a series of two which we'll demonstrate for you here: and point hop back, point hop back. We will also use the side seven. In this instance traveling to the right side. We'll demonstrate that for you here. And hop two, three, four, five, six, seven.
Taking those three basic Irish Dance vocabulary moves, the skips, point hop backs, and the side sevens we'll now create them in a routine. We'll begin by doing four skips in a circle around oneself. And hop one-two-three, hop two-two-three, hop three-two-three, hop four-two-three. We'll add on two hop backs on the right foot first. And point hop back, point hop back. We'll finish with a side sevens traveling to the right. Cut two, three, four, five, six, seven.
This completes our sequence and gives us eight bars or eight counts of music. We'll demonstrate that sequence more fluidly for you now and I will count us in for eight.
