Barry was a comedy digital radio station broadcasting to the five mainland state capital cities in Australia. The station is owned by Austereo and was the second permanent digital-only station the company has launched, alongside Radar Radio. The station was launched on 16 July 2010. It ceased operation in June 2012.
The station aired a 5-minute loop on digital radio promoting the station was coming between 4 June to 16 June.
Two weeks prior to the station launch on 16 July 2010, the station ran a campaign to save the name Barry from extinction. Ads aired on all Today Network and Triple M Network FM stations pointing people to savebarry.com.au.
Programming format consisted of a mix of pre-recorded and live comedy segments:
Barry may refer to:
Alex Lowe (born 15 January 1968) is an English actor and comedian. He is the creator and voice behind the character Barry from Watford on Steve Wright's BBC Radio 2 show and Absolute Radio's Iain Lee show.
Lowe began calling the Iain Lee radio show on the London talk radio station LBC 97.3 in May 2005, as Barry from Watford. It was during Lowe's first call that Barry's wife Margaret (later to be played by Catherine Tate in Barry's stage show) would be introduced. Barry became popular amongst LBC listeners, who requested that his calls be repeated on future shows.
'Barry "The" Saint-Michael' has been a popular caller on Iain Lee's radio show, which later moved to the radio station Absolute Radio. Since 2006, Alex has also put on live performances called 'Let's Talk To Barry', a 50-minute show telling about life in Watford, which also features audio clips from Catherine Tate and Iain Lee.
In October 2008 Barry called into Harry Shearer's Le Show radio show to discuss the American Presidential election, he was credited as 'Barry Martin', which Shearer later corrected to 'Barry Saint-Martin'. He called again on 4 January 2009 to discuss the recent holiday celebrations, and corrected his name to be 'Barry Barry Saint-Michael'.
Barry Gray (born John Livesey Eccles; 18 July 1908 – 26 April 1984) was a British musician and composer best known for his collaborations with television and film producer Gerry Anderson.
Born into a musical family in Blackburn, Lancashire, Gray was encouraged to pursue a musical career from an early age. Starting at the age of five – with piano lessons – he studied diligently and became a student at the Manchester Royal College of Music and at Blackburn Cathedral. He studied composition under the Hungarian teacher Matyas Seiber. Gray's first professional job was for B. Feldman & Co. in London, where he gained experience in scoring for theatre and variety orchestras. From there, he joined Radio Normandy as a composer-arranger. After serving for six years with the Royal Air Force during World War II he returned to the music industry to work with such names as Vera Lynn and Hoagy Carmichael.
In 1956 Gray joined Gerry Anderson's AP Films and scored its first marionette puppet television series, The Adventures of Twizzle. This was followed by Torchy The Battery Boy and Four Feather Falls, a puppet Western based on a concept suggested by Gray. His association with Anderson lasted throughout the 1960s. Although best known for his score to Thunderbirds (in particular the "March of the Thunderbirds" title music), Gray's work also included the themes to all the other "Supermarionation" productions, including Fireball XL5, Stingray, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons and Joe 90. Recording sessions were held at Olympic Studios, Pye Studios and CTS Studios in London, Anvil Studios in Denham, Buckinghamshire and Gray's own studios at his residence in Esher, Surrey.
Kevin Gerard Barry (20 January 1902 – 1 November 1920) was the first Irish republican to be executed by the British since the leaders of the Easter Rising. Barry was sentenced to death for his part in an Irish Volunteers operation which resulted in the deaths of three British soldiers.
Barry's execution outraged nationalist public opinion in Ireland and its diaspora, largely because of his age. The timing of the execution, only days after the death by hunger strike of Terence MacSwiney, the republican Lord Mayor of Cork, brought public opinion to fever-pitch. His treatment and death attracted great international attention and attempts were made by U.S. and Vatican officials to secure a reprieve. His execution and MacSwiney's death precipitated a dramatic escalation in violence as the Irish War of Independence entered its most bloody phase. Due to his refusal to inform, Barry became one of the most celebrated Irish republicans.
A ballad bearing Barry's name, relating the story of his execution, has been sung by artists as diverse as Paul Robeson,Leonard Cohen,Lonnie Donegan, and The Dubliners. At the exact place where Kevin Barry was captured (North King Street/Church Street) there are 2 blocks of flats (apartments) named after him.
On Iain Lee's new show on BBC WM95.6 a lady is describing her reasons for parking in a Disabled Bay. Barry calls in to put his own take on it and to extol the virtues of a minty Viscount Biscuit! Also, check out one of Barry's first calls to Iain back in the day (more to come) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G63At2PfcXE

I had the pleasure of hearing Kevin Barry read this wonderful radio play of his at the Boyle Arts festival in July 2015. It consists of a conversation between a father and son who both suffer from insomnia. He mentioned that the original play was still on the RTE Radio website and I thought that it deserved potentially a wider audience here overtime as well. Great stuff! 'Maybe the Night' by Kevin Barry. Tommy and Dad are after putting down a night of it. Again! Starring Michael Harding and David Pearse. Dad was played by Michael Harding, Tommy was played by David Pearse. Dramaturg was Jesper Bergmann Sound Supervision was by Damian Chennells Producer Kevin Brew The Series producer of Radio Drama is Kevin Reynolds You can still still download or listen at his link as well http://www.r...
Trans World Radio Barry is passionate about the outdoors having flown premier hang gliding sites off the east coast of Australia during his university years; hiked the Walls of Jerusalem National Park [Tasmanian’s only remote alpine National Park]; cycled the South Island of New Zealand; hiked from the Friendship Highway in Tibet to Mt Everest Base Camp [north side]; traveled overland from Nairobi through the Masai Mara to Zanzibar, canoed the Upper Zambezi River above Victoria Falls thankfully avoiding the various hippopotamus and crocodiles that make it their home, and eventually made it to Harare. Still journeying for snow sports, and in search of remote fishing spots but with more creature comforts. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently...
The same as with the Andy although without AM of course. Remember to get the dealers to do the work as the "HP" mode is best for the dealers to make and not the end user. May cost you a few pounds or euros but better end result www.simonthewizardcom

Bavaria is the largest German territory. Its typical atmosphere is given by little towns and villages. Wooden shells, high red tiled roofs with many little skylights, old signboards, town walls, ancient churches, domes and steeples, narrow streets and riverbanks, huge green areas and many flowers take us to a wonderfully calm and merry world. Beside the well known Octoberfest holder Munich and the medieval older town look keeper Nuremberg, Regensburg and Augsburg there are castles like the romantic Neuschwanstein that are waiting for the traveller. There are glittering lakes in the green pinewood like the Königssee and the Chiemsee, and mountaintops like the snow-capped Zugspitze. Though Bavaria is only one territory within the German territories everyone can feel it is quite different fro...
