How It Happened

  • Towson had one last chance with 33 seconds left.  They drove to the Dartmouth 39 yard line with one second to play, but the last-second 56-yard field goal was blocked.
  • Towson pulled within one score in the third quarter as Diondre Wallace intercepted a pass and returned it 20 yards to the Big Green 11 yard line.
  • Three plays later, Deshaun Wethington scored from one yard out, his first touchdown of his career.
  • The Tigers got on the board early as the defense forced two-straight three-and-outs to start the game.  On the second possession, DeShaun Wethington went up the middle for 17 yards on a draw play.
  • Four plays later, Ellis Knudson hit Christian Summers over the middle for a 15 yard touchdown.
  • The Big Green took advantage of a penalty near midfield to get a 25-yard field goal.
  • Dartmouth took its first lead of the game in the second quarter as an interception turned into a 10-play touchdown drive.
  • The lead grew to 13-7 late in the first half as the Tigers failed on fourth down in their own territory.  The Big Green turned it into a 38-yard field goal.
