Boston (pronounced i/ˈbɒstən/) is the capital and largest city of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the United States. Boston also served as the historic county seat of Suffolk County until Massachusetts disbanded county government in 1999. The city proper covers 48 square miles (124 km2) with an estimated population of 655,884 in 2014, making it the largest city in New England and the 24th largest city in the United States. The city is the economic and cultural anchor of a substantially larger metropolitan area called Greater Boston, home to 4.7 million people and the tenth-largest metropolitan statistical area in the country. Greater Boston as a commuting region is home to 8.1 million people, making it the sixth-largest combined statistical area in the United States.
One of the oldest cities in the United States, Boston was founded on the Shawmut Peninsula in 1630 by Puritan settlers from England. It was the scene of several key events of the American Revolution, such as the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party, the Battle of Bunker Hill, and the Siege of Boston. Upon American independence from Great Britain, the city continued to be an important port and manufacturing hub, as well as a center for education and culture. Through land reclamation and municipal annexation, Boston has expanded beyond the original peninsula. Its rich history attracts many tourists, with Faneuil Hall alone drawing over 20 million visitors per year. Boston's many firsts include the United States' first public school, Boston Latin School (1635), and first subway system (1897).
A multistage (or multi-stage) rocket is a rocket that uses two or more stages, each of which contains its own engines and propellant. A tandem or serial stage is mounted on top of another stage; a parallel stage is attached alongside another stage. The result is effectively two or more rockets stacked on top of or attached next to each other. Taken together these are sometimes called a launch vehicle. Two-stage rockets are quite common, but rockets with as many as five separate stages have been successfully launched. By jettisoning stages when they run out of propellant, the mass of the remaining rocket is decreased. This staging allows the thrust of the remaining stages to more easily accelerate the rocket to its final speed and height.
In serial or tandem staging schemes, the first stage is at the bottom and is usually the largest, the second stage and subsequent upper stages are above it, usually decreasing in size. In parallel staging schemes solid or liquid rocket boosters are used to assist with lift-off. These are sometimes referred to as 'stage 0'. In the typical case, the first-stage and booster engines fire to propel the entire rocket upwards. When the boosters run out of fuel, they are detached from the rest of the rocket (usually with some kind of small explosive charge) and fall away. The first stage then burns to completion and falls off. This leaves a smaller rocket, with the second stage on the bottom, which then fires. Known in rocketry circles as staging, this process is repeated until the final stage's motor burns to completion. In some cases with serial staging, the upper stage ignites before the separation- the interstage ring is designed with this in mind, and the thrust is used to help positively separate the two vehicles.

Boston We're Ready Third Stage Released September 23, 1986 Recorded 1980-1986
From the first time I heard this song this is what I envisioned. Putting on my headphones, turning the volume to MAX, closing my eyes, Boston's The Launch always evoked images of the countdown, the engines igniting, and shuttle lifting slowly from the pad, flame smoke and ash filling the air.
A video I made to the song by the band Boston, "Cool the Engines", in memory of Brad Delp, the lead singer for Boston, who commited suicide at the age of 55. You will always be remembered Brad, rest in peace.
lyrics --------------------- And Feelin' the way I do Wouldn't last a mile without you When I'm losin' the way, the things that you say Take me there My destination My destination Is by your side Right by your side And I I've taken so long, I know Never had so far to go It's not where you can be, it's what you can see That takes you there Your destination Your destination It's here inside, right here inside **I own nothing**

Artist: Boston Track 7: To Be A Man Album: Third Stage Released 1986 --- What does it take to be a man? What does it take to see It's all heart and soul A gentle hand? So easy to want and so hard to give How can you be a man 'Till you see beyond the life you live? Oh, what does it take to be a man? We can be blind, but a man tries to see It takes tenderness For a man to be what he can be And what does it mean If you're weak or strong? A gentle feelin' can make it right or make it wrong What does it take to be a man? The will to give and not receive The strength to say what you believe The heart to feel what others feel inside To see what they can see A man is somethin' that's real It's not what you are It's what you can feel It can't be too late ...
Artist: Boston Track 9: Can'tcha Say (You Believe in Me)- Still in Love Album: Third Stage Released 1986 --- Can'tcha say you believe in me? Can'tcha see what you mean to me? Everyday I think of you, You're on my mind. Some things in the past Are better left behind. Every night I dream of you, The images as clear as day. (chorus) Can'tcha say you believe in me? Can'tcha say you believe in me? You know that where there's a will there's a way. Can'tcha say you believe in me? Can't you see what it means to me? Don't leave me alone tonight, 'Cause I still love you. We've had our time apart And I knew right from the start I could never change The way I feel about you baby. We can sit here all night long And separate the right from wrong But love won't wait. ...
lyrics ------------------------------------------ In my mind I can see reminders of a past decay So far behind Like the shadows linger at the close of day. And we could see We were timeless dreamers of another day. And we were free In a dawning age we had so much to say. Oooh, the nights you came to me A bluejean lady so eager to be free. And the wind in your long hair blowin' as we stood for the band. Oh, Hollyann. Hollyann We made the dark into light. We saw the wrong and the right. We were for life And we would never concede it. Hollyann We left the world behind A million hands gave the sign. We held the line light Can you believe it? Hollyann Hollyann We could live Just to turn the world into our fantasy. And we could give Aquarius was really ...

Travel video about destination Boston in the United States of America. Boston has over half a million inhabitants and is the largest of New England's cities. As its most important commercial and financial centre, the city on the Charles River has always played an historic role and was the cradle of Independence. In the centre of Boston, Copley Square features the Trinity Church, which contrasts with the modern Hancock Tower that dominates the skyline. Park Street Church was where, in 1829, William Garrison gave his first anti-slavery speech. In the adjacent Granary Burial Ground, some of America's most famous sons are buried, such as John Hancock, Samuel Adams and Paul Revere. Beacon Hill has hardly changed over the past 150 years, an architectural gem with narrow, winding cobbled street...

"Amanda" is a power ballad by the rock band Boston written by Tom Scholz. The song was released as the first single from the band's third album, Third Stage, in 1986, a 6-year-delay after it was recorded. Although the song did not have a promotional music video, "Amanda" became the band's highest charting single in the United States and Canada. In the United States, the single topped the Billboard Hot 100 in November, 1986, for two consecutive weeks (the band's only number 1 on the Hot 100), and topped for three consecutive weeks on the Mainstream Rock chart, in October of the same year, while in the latter the single topped RPM magazine's Top Singles and Adult Contemporary charts. It was the band's first officially released single since 1978 and their first released by MCA Records. The 12...

"We're Ready" is a song written by Tom Scholz that was first released on Boston's 1986 album Third Stage. It was released in December 1986 as the second single from the album, following up on the #1 hit "Amanda." "We're Ready" itself reached #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and also reached #2 on the Billboard's Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. Billboard Magazine also named it as the #24 "Top Rock Track" for 1987, one position ahead of another song off of Third Stage, "Cool the Engines." It also reached #12 on the Cashbox chart. In Canada, it reached the Top 25 in RPM magazine's Top Singles chart. "We're Ready" was written as early as 1981, earlier than the other songs on Third Stage except "Amanda." The song ends with the sound of church bells, which are played by Scholz on electric guitar.

Somethin' changin' for me inside
Took a long time
Now there's nothin' for me to hide
I say what's on my mind
Changes, makin' me see the light
I finally see wrong from right
Now I can see every sign.
Oooh, I think I like it
I think I like what I'm feelin'
Even though it's such a surprise
But you know
Oooh, I think I really like it
I think I like what I feel
And changes really open your eyes
Oh, look at the world we make
What have we begun?
People livin' for what they take
All for number one
Changes makin' me see the light
I finally see the light
I finally see wrong from right
Now that it's all said and done
Oooh, I think I like it
I think I like what I'm feelin'
Even though it's such a surprise
But you know
Oooh, I think I really like it
I think I like what I feel
And changes really open your eyes
Oh doesn't love say enough
When you realize?
People try to come on so tough
All to fantasize
Changes takin' me through the night
I finally see the light
I've opened my eyes
Those changes can open your eyes
