Andy Capper

Andrew Richard "Andy" Capper (born February 14, 1973) is a New York-based director / journalist and Executive Producer at Vice Media.

Career

Having co-founded the UK division of Vice with Andrew Creighton, Capper has contributed to wide array of fields related to Vice Magazine. Since 2002 through to the present day, Cappaer has been Senior Director / Producer / Editor at Vice Media LLC. Capper created Vice series' such as Rule Britannia (TV series) and also co-produced two seasons of the six part Vice.com series Fashion Week Internationale together with co-creators Charlet Duboc and William Fairman, travelling to Fashion Week in locations such as Islamabad, New York, Medellin, Phonm Penh and Lagos, Nigeria. In 2014, he created the Vice.com series' Weediquette and The Real, and also produced segments for Vice's Emmy Award-winning show on the HBO network.

Capper has directed several promo videos for artists like Snoop Dogg, ASAP Rocky, Vybz Kartel, Fucked Up, Black Lips, Haleek Maul, Parquet Courts, Turbonegro, Popcaan, Beenie Man and Tifa, as well as creating and producing the Noisey.com franchises Noisey Chiraq, Noisey Jamaica and Noisey Raps. Capper also worked with Jonathan Glazer and J Spaceman of Spiritualized on an installation for The Creators Project at the Coachella Festival which centred on the Spiritualized song "Ladies & Gentleman, We Are Floating In Space". Last year he shot a tour documentary around the Brooklyn band Parquet Courts called Light Up Gold Road Trip, which will be released April 17 on Noisey.com as the first ever Noisey Films production.

Paul Rice

Paul Rice is the President & CEO of Fair Trade USA, the leading third-party certifier of Fair Trade products in the United States. Since launching Fair Trade USA (previously TransFair) in 1998, Paul has pushed to mainstream the Fair Trade movement and expand its impact. He has challenged hundreds of companies to rework their global supply chains to obtain high-quality products that support community development and environmental protection.

Paul’s work as a social entrepreneur has helped over 1.2 million farmers receive a fair price for their crops and compete in the global marketplace through direct, long-term contracts with international buyers. With thousands of certified products found in 200,000 retail locations today, Fair Trade USA’s Fair Trade Certified label is considered to be the leading mark of sustainability and responsible sourcing in the US.

Paul has been criticized in recent years for his decision to resign Fair Trade USA’s membership from Fairtrade Labeling Organization (FLO), the international fair trade labeling organization. While he argues that the split was necessary for expansion, some critics worry that scaling Fair Trade will dilute its impact. Paul is committed to expanding Fair Trade to impoverished laborers, whether or not they work on a cooperative, through his “Fair Trade for All” platform.
