As the Access Hollywood tape emerged exposing Donald Trumps lewd comments and disrespectful attitude towards women, I was not surprised. Not surprised because there are many men like Donald Trump around the world. Many. I have met them personally. From groups of men in Lebanon laughing about sexually harassing women to watching the smiles spread over the faces of men throughout Latin America as I've complained of sexual harassment, there is no doubt to me that there are many men around the world that enjoy harassing women.
The referendum is pushing us to discuss our place in the world in a way not seen for years. Out-of-the-box thinking is not a luxury but an urgent necessity, and anyone calling for a paradigm shift must get involved now or risk missing this rare opportunity, and leaving the field open to the buccaneers.
Life has not always been easy but I have been lucky. I have been educated, supported and informed. I have, for the most part, felt empowered. When I have not, I have been surrounded by friends, family and colleagues who have fought for me. Until I met Lucy, I did not appreciate how lucky that made me.
And then everything fell apart. For the second time. The second time. Secondary. I can barely say the word let alone write it. The shock was immense. I was blindsided. How could it be back so silently and without warning?
These seemingly small things slowly chip away at your self identity and self esteem. They undermine your identity, making you out to be not a "real" man/woman. They shake the foundations of who you are. Some off the cuff un-thought-of comments haven't just upset me but have made me questions my choices and the way I identify.
There are many complex circumstances, as there are for anybody who has experienced disordered eating. So, I decided to choose just one of what professionals might term 'the precipitating factors' that led to my illness, and my choice was gender identity.
We as women are flooded by pictures of 'perfection'. As mothers we are met with comments such as 'when are you planning to lose that baby weight?' and images of celeb mums in size six leather hot pants two days after having their children.
The power of Dylan's lyrics comes from the fact that they are precisely that -- they are part of his songs. Awarding the prize to someone who is primarily a songwriter is a welcome move, as it appreciates that lyrics are literature too.
I'm Jessica-Jane Applegate, I'm 20 years old and I'm an elite swimmer. I've competed in competitions all over the world, I've set over 75 new British Swimming records and I've won Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in London 2012 and Rio 2016 and in 2013 was given an MBE. I also have a learning disability.
So just who did benefit from the sale? The government famously took a different approach to the conventional idea that you might sell to the highest bidder. Instead it followed the advice of financial institutions - which themselves bought into Royal Mail - in naming its price. It sold the shares at 330p and within a day the share price stood at 455p. At the time of course, the government said the valuation would ultimately be proved right. But with the average price since then having been even higher at 486p, the government effectively gave away £1billion in public assets to those who already had money going spare.
After many months of campaigning on this issue at Unicef UK, we are thrilled about the announcement. Children have been languishing in the camp in Calais for far too long, with every day being another day they are alone and in danger. Another day that they could fall prey to traffickers.
Florida likes to swing. Think of it as the Glenn Miller of US states, gliding to the left, shimmying to the right, always keeping politicians guessing which way it'll turn until the very last moment. For Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, the Sunshine State represents opportunity.
Take a bow, Keir Starmer, the fresh-out-of-the-box shadow Brexit secretary, who leapt into action as soon as he was appointed and immediately discombobulated the prime minister. Take another bow, Ed Miliband - remember him? - who galvanised his fellow MPs, from all parties.
Having a life threatening illness feels like being on the next level. You're not on earth because you're closer to death, but you're not quite in heaven either because you're still alive. You're on this strange limbo level. Mikey feels the same. Being told from the age of four that you could die at any moment and you might not make it past childhood is a lot to deal with.
A zero food waste supermarket understands that food waste is a symptom of overproduction. It works to create fair contractual relationships with its suppliers to prevent overproduction as a result of suppliers trying to insure themselves against last minute order cancellations and unpredictable order forecasting. A zero food waste supermarket would present a challenge to all retailers to take greater action to prevent food waste and would be truly worthy of newspaper headlines.
On Thursday's episode of 'The Apprentice', candidate Jessica Cunningham found that out the hard way when her fellow candidates, the media and hundreds of people on Twitter questioned her professionalism, all because she cried... But showing emotion at work shouldn't be seen as a sign that you're incapable of doing your job.
The news that the only exam board in England that still offers an A level in Art History has decided to drop the subject is a wake-up call to anyone in Britain who cares about culture. Since 1999 the number of students taking the subject has halved - from roughly 2,000 to less than 1,000 - partly because ever fewer schools teach it.
Most of us are in agreement that the sharing economy is a good thing, for business and for society. Having trust in the people around us is usually a decent sign that things are going well, and the economic and environmental benefits are clear, too.
There's a new Little Mix single this week, everyone, and I can't even write about it because it's not out till Monday. Sometimes life truly is not fair. So here are my thoughts on three songs recorded by artists who, sadly, are not Little Mix. It's The Big Three...
It is crucial because our generation has the opportunity to break the cycle of internalised misogyny. If we reiterate the importance of consent, we will not be the parents of another generation of Brock Turners.
However, with its new focus on hardware Google has called time on this fragmented approach. Their new ecosystem, much like Apple's, will encompass every device you need or want and fulfil every task you have. Including those tasks you haven't even considered technology doing yet.
Indian cuisine in the UK continues to blossom and grow and it's now up to us to keep pace. National Curry Week is a blessing that promotes the development of Indian food and it's also a great excuse for families to get back into the kitchen to cook an enjoyable meal together.
