The great Blues-Boogie-Rock band was a noted popular live act during the 1970's. Live music and on stage Foghat was among the best. Since I first heard them in 1972, they have been my favorite band by far. Saw them numerous times live in concert. A Foghat concert was unbelievably high octane energy, and nearing the end of the concert fans would be on fumes to keep up the energy of the band. I remember how I felt back in the 1970’s during the last encore with Chateau Laffite ’59 Boogie (the long version like here). That amazing lead by Rod during the end with the song going at a blistering pace, then they bring it down to a almost smooth Jazz like tempo, then gear it up again to finish the song. It was amazing! I'm dedicating this video to the late Lonesome Dave Peverett (lead voca...

Four Stars = Classic "Rock and Roll Outlaws", along with "Night Shift" are the two dark horses in Foghat's catalog, & the two best ones, I believe. People tend to think of "Fool for the City," & "Energized" when they think Foghat. Good albums they are, but I'll take the former two, "Rock and Roll Outlaws" & "Night Shift," all day long over those. I turned on to Foghat in the mid 70's. The first album I got from them & the one I still think is best is "Rock and Roll Outlaws. This album is full of straight ahead heavy blues/boogey/rock, & probably their most energetic & heaviest album as a whole. It includes the killer "Eight Days on the Road," metallic & shiny with sharp hooks to stick in your brain. The namesake song "Rock and Roll Outlaws" is a rollicking rocking tune, its chorus will s...

Nick Jameson's musicianship was far ahead of his time. To my recollection, he was incorporating funk chops with rock before anyone else. His feel is what moved me when these records came on the radio (records were something we had when I was a kid...). He also had the vision for Foghat at that particular moment in time - as producer he came up with brilliant parts and arrangements.

Roger Earl Interview from Foghat http://musiclegends.ca Interviewed by Jason Saulnier May 25, 2010 Roger Earl Talks about the New releases "Not live at the BBC" & "Last Train Home". Roger Earl gives a good conversation about blues guitarist Eddie Kirkland. Recording the album 1975 "Fool for the City" plenty of details. http://www.foghat.net/ Roger Earl is the drummer of the band Foghat, famed for their relentless touring and strong live performances. A founding member, along with guitarist and vocalist "Lonesome" Dave Peverett, guitarist Rod Price, and bassist Tony Stevens, Earl is the only living member to have continued with the band throughout all of its various incarnations. Before founding Foghat, Earl was a member of Savoy Brown from 1967 to 1970 and auditioned (unsuccessfully) for...

I don't know why I love you like I do
After all the things that you put me through
You stole my money and my cigarettes
And I haven't seen why I should forget
I want to know, won't you tell me
I'd love to stay, yeah, yeah
Take me to the river, wash me down
Please my soul, put my feet on the ground
I don't know why she treat me so bad
After all the things that we could've had
Love is a notion that I can't forget
My sweet sixteen, I will never regret
I want to know, won't you tell me
I'd love to stay, I'd love to stay
Take me to the river, wash me down
Please my soul, put my feet on the ground
Hold me, love me, please me, squeeze me
Oh, 'til I can't, 'til I can't, 'til I can't, I can't take no more
Take me to the river, wash me down
Please my soul, put my feet on the ground
Take me to the river, wash me down
Please my soul, put my feet on the ground
Take me, take me, take me to the river
Take me, take me, take me to the river
Take me, take me, take me to the river
Take me, take me, take me to the river
Take me, take me, take me to the river
Take me, take me, take me to the river
