Corruption or bastardisation refer to the popularly held, but unscientific, idea that language change constitutes a degradation in the quality of a language, especially when the change originates historically from human error or prescriptively discouraged usage. Descriptive linguistics typically does not support this concept, since from a scientific point of view such changes are neither good nor bad.
Words are commonly said to be "corrupted" or "bastardized" if they undergo a change in spelling or pronunciation when borrowed from one language to another (e.g. "Cajun" [from "Acadian"]). This example illustrates that normal phonological developments (in this case, palatalization of /dj/ to /dʒ/) can be labeled by some as "corruption", a position which demands that any language change from a previous state be thus labeled. In this view, English would be a "corruption" of Proto-Germanic, the Romance languages would be "corruptions" of Latin, and Latin would ultimately be a "corruption" of Proto-Indo-European.
Corruption is a form of dishonest or unethical conduct by a person entrusted with a position of authority, often to acquire personal benefit. Corruption may include many activities including bribery and embezzlement, though it may also involve practices that are legal in many countries.Government, or 'political', corruption occurs when an office-holder or other governmental employee acts in an official capacity for personal gain.
The word corrupt when used as an adjective literally means "utterly broken". The word was first used by Aristotle and later by Cicero who added the terms bribe and abandonment of good habits. Stephen D. Morris, a professor of politics, writes that [political] corruption is the illegitimate use of public power to benefit a private interest.
Economist Ian Senior defines corruption as an action to (a) secretly provide (b) a good or a service to a third party (c) so that he or she can influence certain actions which (d) benefit the corrupt, a third party, or both (e) in which the corrupt agent has authority. Daniel Kaufmann, from the World Bank, extends the concept to include 'legal corruption' in which power is abused within the confines of the law — as those with power often have the ability to make laws for their protection.
Payap University (Thai: มหาวิทยาลัยพายัพ; rtgs: Phayap) established in 1974, is a private institution founded by the Church of Christ in Thailand. Payap is a founding member of the Association of Private Higher Education Institutions in Thailand, and an active member of the Association of Christian Universities and Colleges in Asia, as well as the Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning.
Payap University history begins with the founding of the Thailand Theological Seminary. That seminary has now been integrated into Payap University as the McGilvary College of Divinity, one of eleven academic divisions of the university. Initially, seminary students were accepted after completing elementary school. High school graduation gradually became the pre-requisite for a seven-year bachelor of divinity (BD) course that was formally initiated in 1960. The second predecessor of Payap University was the McCormick Hospital School of Nursing, established in 1923. After first accepting students with minimal educational qualifications, in 1961 the school of nursing made high school graduation a pre-requisite for entrance. Degrees awarded by these institutions, however, were not recognized as college degrees by the Royal Thai Government.
Wycliffe's Bible is the name now given to a group of Bible translations into Middle English that were made under the direction of John Wycliffe. They appeared over a period from approximately 1382 to 1395. These Bible translations were the chief inspiration and chief cause of the Lollard movement, a pre-Reformation movement that rejected many of the distinctive teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. In the early Middle Ages, most Western Christian people encountered the Bible only in the form of oral versions of scriptures, verses and homilies in Latin (other sources were mystery plays, usually conducted in the vernacular, and popular iconography). Though relatively few people could read at this time, Wycliffe’s idea was to translate the Bible into the vernacular, saying "it helpeth Christian men to study the Gospel in that tongue in which they know best Christ’s sentence".
Long thought to be the work of Wycliffe himself, the Wycliffite translations are now generally believed to be the work of several hands. Nicholas of Hereford is known to have translated a part of the text; John Purvey and perhaps John Trevisa are names that have been mentioned as possible authors. The translators worked from the Vulgate, the Latin Bible that was the standard Biblical text of Western Christianity, and the text conforms fully with Catholic teaching. They included in the testaments those works which would later be called deuterocanonical by most Protestants, along with 3 Esdras which is now called 2 Esdras and Paul's epistle to the Laodiceans.
Steven Arthur "Steve" Pinker (born September 18, 1954) is a Canadian-born American cognitive scientist, psychologist, linguist, and popular science author. He is Johnstone Family Professor in the Department of Psychology at Harvard University, and is known for his advocacy of evolutionary psychology and the computational theory of mind.
Pinker's academic specializations are visual cognition and psycholinguistics. His experimental subjects include mental imagery, shape recognition, visual attention, children's language development, regular and irregular phenomena in language, the neural bases of words and grammar, and the psychology of cooperation and communication, including euphemism, innuendo, emotional expression, and common knowledge. He has written two technical books which proposed a general theory of language acquisition and applied it to children's learning of verbs. In particular, his work with Alan Prince published in 1989 critiqued the connectionist model of how children acquire the past tense of English verbs, arguing instead that children use default rules such as adding "-ed" to make regular forms, sometimes in error, but are obliged to learn irregular forms one by one.

A brief overview of the corruption scandal that Payap University and Paul Sidwell of the Austrailian National University and president of SEALS tried to cover up. Why would Dr. Sompan the President of Payap University Linguistics Institute and Paul Sidwell of SEALS try to cover up the cheating scandal which occurred at Payap University Linguistics when Jeff German and Steve Doty of Wycliffe Bible Translators and Summer Institute of Linguistics covered up the cheating engaged in by Dr. Sigrid Lew? Takun J is Liberia’s premier Hip-Co artist. In terms of musical genre, Hip-Co (Co as in short for colloquial) is uniquely Liberian. In short, it’s music of the vernacular, the way people speak and relate to each other. Hip-Co evolved in the 1980s and has always been socially & politically bent. In the ‘90s it continued to develop through the civil wars, and today stands as a definitive mark of Liberian culture. Takun J has climbed his way to the top of the scene and is widely know both here and abroad. Linguistically, he sets the tone for street talk in Monrovia. But Russ Tanner helped me out and made it possible to reconnect on Skype and we could add Anthony J Hilder. You have to listen to him. Anthony knows a lot of the NWO and what is going on. My voice was still hacked and because of the intruder you will hear an "echo-effect". But I could edit the whole thing and cut out the disturbing parts. Now, after some time finally I could upload this video with a great sound-quality. Only the last 10 minutes I couldn´t recover, because I was kicked out completely even from my Live-Stream-Channel. India is clearly the world's least likely democracy because when the first elections were held in 1952 nearly 70 percent of the electorate was illiterate. And it was never expected that there would be a second election. The first elections were dismissed as the biggest gamble in history. It's also an unnatural nation because of the extraordinary diversity of religious and linguistic groups you find within this territory. And it's also extremely large. It also has a colonial history. And before the British came India was governed according to the principles of the caste system, which is a very hierarchical and inegalitarian way of organising society. So to create a democracy on such unpropitious and unfertile soil was a staggering achievement. To unite a country of so many different and d...

An objective lesson in coherence or an incoherent object lesson? This question is posed by the opening credits; it soon reveals itself to be an essential key to understanding the logic around which the film is based. It consists of a single character who with great gusto and enthusiasm relates a story using all possible communicative media at hand. In addition to gestures, vocal sounds and a form of sign-language, there are illustrations, objects created specially to match the text and words which fly by the viewer at a rapid tempo. Add to all of that ominous music and dramatic sound effects and it becomes a veritable whirlpool of potential signification; the audience is confronted with a barrage of signs and is set the task of making sense of it all. Seeing the Zatoichi films immediately triggered a recognition of source for many other films and odds and ends of media which I had come across previously during my life. Yet, perhaps quixotically, I had not encountered any of the "Crimson Bat" films, but did happen upon another variant which took it's cue from Zatoich, launching it into a bizarre sort of mash-up of a tease, seemingly ruching straight to the brink o...

Why is so much writing so bad, and how can we make it better? Is the English language being corrupted by texting and social media? Do the kids today even care about good writing? Why should any of us care? In The Sense of Style, the bestselling linguist and cognitive scientist Steven Pinker answers these questions and more. Rethinking the usage guide for the twenty-first century, Pinker doesnt carp about the decline of language or recycle pet peeves from the rulebooks of a century ago. Instead, he applies insights from the sciences of language and mind to the challenge of crafting clear, coherent, and stylish prose. In this short, cheerful, and eminently practical book, Pinker shows how writing depends on imagination, empathy, coherence, grammatical knowhow, and an ability to savo...
