Wesley Barry (August 10, 1907 – April 11, 1994) was an American child actor in silent motion pictures. He later became a producer and director of both film and television. As a director, he was sometimes billed as Wesley E. Barry.
Born in Los Angeles, Barry was seven years old when a young director was attracted by his facial features, and put him to work at the old Kalem Studios. He was not noted for his freckles until Marshall Neilan cast him in Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, with his freckles uncovered (earlier producers had insisted that all subjects cover facial blemishes with grease paint).
Soon, Barry became a star in his own right, and 1920's Dinty put him over with great success. Later screen productions which served him as starring vehicles are School Days, Rags to Riches, Heroes of the Street, and Warner specials. He was eleven years old when he appeared opposite Mary Pickford in Daddy-Long-Legs, and later, in Cecil B. DeMille's Male and Female, opposite Gloria Swanson.
Wesley, a shortened version of "Wesleydale", is a name with an Anglo-Norman etymology. The "wes" portion of the name refers to the Western cardinal direction, while the word "lea" refers to a field, pasture, or other clearing in a forest. Thus, the name's origin refers to a "western lea," or a field to the west.
The name was predominantly used as a surname until John Wesley, founder of the Methodist church, inspired some parents to name their sons after him while also retaining the parents' own surname.
Barry may refer to:
Barry Michael Rose OBE (born 24 May 1934) is a choir trainer and organist. He is best known for conducting the choir of St Paul's Cathedral at the wedding of Charles, Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales formerly Lady Diana Frances Spencer at St Paul's Cathedral in London on 29 July 1981.
Born in Chingford, England, Rose grew up playing hymns on the piano at his local Sunday school, and later accompanying the choir on the harmonium at the mission church of St Anne's Chingford Hatch. Leaving the Sir George Monoux Grammar School, Walthamstow, at the age of 16, he set out on a career in commerce, working in the insurance departments of W. H. Smith & Son Ltd. and Joseph Rank Ltd. In 1956 he joined Martindale Sidwell's choir at Hampstead Parish Church as a bass, going on from there two years later to become organist and choirmaster at St Andrew's Church, Kingsbury, North West London. It was while he was at Kingsbury that he decided to leave the world of commerce, and despite not having any of the required qualifications for entry, the principal (Sir Thomas Armstrong) offered him a place at London's Royal Academy of Music to study organ with C. H. Trevor. In April 1960, whilst still an unqualified academy student, at the age of 25 he became the youngest cathedral organist in the country when he was appointed as the first Organist & Master of the Choristers at the new Guildford Cathedral. At Guildford he founded a choir to sing the daily services, their first public appearance being the service of consecration on 17 May 1961 in the presence of the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and other members of the royal family.
"Never Gonna Give You Up" is a single by Rick Astley, released on July 8, 1987. Written and produced by Stock Aitken Waterman. The song was released as the first single from his debut album, Whenever You Need Somebody (1987). The song was a worldwide number-one hit, initially in the singer's native United Kingdom in 1987, where it stayed atop the chart for five weeks and was the best-selling single of that year. It eventually topped the charts in 25 countries, including the United States and West Germany.
The song won Best British Single at the 1988 Brit Awards. In 2004, it was voted no. 28 in 50 Most Awesomely Bad Songs... Ever by VH1.
The music video for the song has become the basis for the "Rickrolling" Internet meme. In 2008, Rick Astley won the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Act Ever with the song, as a result of collective voting from thousands of people on the internet, due to the popular phenomenon of Rickrolling. It was also featured as a downloadable track for the Rock Band series.
A Hollywood native (born there in 1907), seven-year-old Wesley Barry was spotted by a director at Kalem who was taken with the boy's face full of freckles, and he went on to become one of the most popular child actors in the business. Barry had been making picture for several years when director Marshall Neilan scrubbed off the layers of greasepaint that covered his freckles (the standard "solution" at the time in Hollywood to cover up facial blemishes) and let the boy's naturally wild hair grow out instead of being slicked down. Audiences were charmed by the young actor's naturalness and "all-American" looks and flocked to his films. His biggest success was Dinty (1920), but he also scored with Penrod (1922), School Days (1920) and Rags to Riches (1922). Barry was not one of those former ...

The Flash is a popular show currently running on the CW with Grant Gustin starring as the role of Barry Allen a.k.a. the Flash, and John Wesley Shipp as his father Henry Allen. It is well known that actor John Wesley Shipp previously played Barry Allen a.k.a. the Flash on another TV show which lasted one season of 1990 through 1991. If you like the current show but have never seen the older one, this video aims to tell you everything you’d want to know about the original show all in under nine minutes. Also, although I don’t want to write any spoilers of what happens in Season 2 and 3 of the current Flash show, I’ll just say that if you’re fan of the character Jay Garrick (the Golden Age Flash) then this video should appeal to you. This is the fair use act in activity. I don't mean an...

Samuel Wesley (1766-1839) was the son of the Methodist hymn-writer, Charles Wesley and father of the composer Samuel Sebastian Wesley. The text comes from the first three verses of Psalm 114: In exitu Israël de Aegypto : domus Jacob de populo barbaro, Facta est Judaea sanctificatio ejus : Israël potestas ejus. Mare vidit, et fugit : Jordanis conversus est retrorsum. In exitu Israël de Aegypto : domus Jacob de populo barbaro. An extract from a BBC radio series entitled “Music for the Iron Voice”. The edition in question (“The Romantic Era in England”) was broadcast on 9 December 1985 and featured the choir of Winchester Cathedral, directed by Martin Neary. This monumental anthem by Wesley was the only choral work in the broadcast. Although undated, it is thought to have been written while Wesley was in post at either Leeds or Winchester, which would place it somewhere between 1842 and 1865. Sir Edward Elgar heard the piece performed under Wesley’s direction in Worcester and was sufficiently impressed to orchestrate it for the 1923 Three Choirs Festival. Not many actors gets to play two different characters in the same series, but anything's possible with 'The Flash' and its alternate universes. Actor John Wesley Shipp recently gave an interview talking about his new appearance as the true Jay Garrick, stating, "Where [Henry] would be very nurturing, Barry would come to him when he wanted to be vulnerable, Jay doesn't know from that. Jay knows that right here and right now, you want to be a superhero. Okay, it's big boy rules. I look like your dad, sorry about that. Jay does not have any emotional investment in Barry, does he? He has an emotional investment in the Speed Force and in maintaining his legacy and making sure this kid doesn't screw it up." http://comicbook.com/2016/09/30/john-wesley-shipp-describes-barrys-relationship-to-jay-ga...

All nations whom Thou hast made shall come and worship Thee, O Lord, and shall glorify thy name. For thou art good and doest wondrous things: for only thou art holy, thou only art the Lord. I've been hit! Oh My God! Oh My God!
The ground burst and cold soaks my shirt. Send word!
The claret river forms at my boots with a flash and rain of dirt,
I've been met for the hundredth time. Call the medic.
This wounds meant to cripple! Run!
The red crest on his head and a choice off his lips.
He sat never once phased. While I'm open and spilling!
Is this the end? Am I a sheep for the slaughter?
Am I just a sheep for the slaughter? Oh, no!
Oh Death, must you reap one more?
Medic! I've been hit! Oh my God! Oh my God!
The ground burst and cold....send word!
The claret river forms and pools over my head.
And for a moment I'm submerged in the lake,
and a sparks birth could not be heard.
All night the thunder of war raged and it finally seemed as if I had met the eye.
With fights more lost than won I walk away with one trophy.
A thousand scars on my own chest, only to realize nowhere else was I hit.
But then with Your grip gloved by mercy,
I was wrenched back to the storm!
Lay dead or charge the line! Another patch wont do!
Cut it from my chest, and begin this run.
