Spot on! Katie Holmes is hippie chic in polka dot blouse and high-waist jean shorts during grocery run

She once had her own clothing line, so it's safe to say fashion has played a big role in Katie Holmes' life.

And on Thursday, the 37-year-old proved she could just as easily rock a casual look as she headed out for a grocery run in Calabasas in a hippie chic look.

Katie's look consisted of a red polka dot blouse and a pair of high waist jean shorts, which put her toned legs on maximal display.

She slung a black leather purse across her body and scraped her brunette locks up into a slightly messy top knot.

The Batman Begins actress also wore a pair of sunglasses and accessorized the look with a delicate silver necklace.

Clearly in a laid back mood, the actress also appeared to go for very minimal makeup.

The actress looked relaxed as she strolled across the street with her grocery bag in hand before heading towards the driver's seat with just her keys and a wallet in hand.

Make like Katie in a blouse by Isabel Marant

As Katie Holmes headed out here to run errands in Los Angeles, she rocked a distinctly laid back aesthetic.

The 37 year old star look chic in her casual ensemble in denim shorts with a blouse tucked in and a pair white tennies.

The printed red blouse is by chic French label Isabel Marant. We love the relaxed boho feel of it which the brand is synonymous with.

Marant is the queen of Parisienne cool and her fans include every super chic fashion maven out there. From Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to Kate Hudson and Sienna Miller to Diane Kruger, every cool girl loves a bit of Marant's effortless aesthetic.

Sadly, Katie's blouse is now sold out but if you want to walk in the shoes of the stars, click right to shop the brand at Net-a-Porter or check out the peasant style blouse below for alternatives.

Katie, who splits her time between Los Angeles and Manhattan, is mother to 10-year-old daughter Suri.

The actress recently announced via Instagram that she would be voting for presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and, during an interview with People earlier this month, revealed that she and Suri 'watch the debates together'.

'It’s wonderful to have my 10-year-old see a woman up there doing well and being very clear and thoughtful in her responses and in her passion for what she wants to do for our country,' she told the website. 'That’s so powerful for a 10-year-old girl to see.'
