Top Obama adviser suggests Hillary Clinton SKIP final debate over Trump's suggestion she be drug tested
- David Axelrod tweeted that Hillary Clinton 'will/should' reconsider coming to the final debate in Las Vegas
- Axelrod was shocked that Donald Trump called for 'drug testing?!?' of Hillary Clinton, which the nominee said this weekend in New Hampshire
- The Obama adviser suggested Clinton pulling out 'given the depths to which this has sunk'Â Â
David Axelrod, one of President Barack Obama's top strategists, floated the idea that maybe Hillary Clinton should skip the final presidential debate.
'Drug testing?!? You have to wonder if @HillaryClinton will/should reconsider next debate, given the depths to which this has sunk,' the political operative who helped Obama get to the White House twice tweeted Saturday. Â
Axelrod was referring to comments Clinton's Republican rival Donald Trump made on the campaign trail earlier that day.

'Athletes, they make them take a drug test right?' Trump mused. 'I think we should take a drug test prior to the debate.' Â
'Why don't we do that? We should take a drug test prior, because I don't know what's going on with her, but at the beginning of her last debate, she was all pumped up at the beginning, and at the end it was like, "Oh, take me down,"' Trump said, doing an impression of Clinton.Â

David Axelrod, who helped President Obama get elected twice, thought maybe Hillary Clinton should skip the last debateÂ
'She could barely reach her car. So I think we should take a drug test. Anyway, I’m willing to do it,' Trump said.Â
The comments come after Trump audibly sniffed through the first debate, in which he blamed the noises on his broken microphone, and then again through last Sunday's debate in St. Louis.Â
After Trump's first case of the sniffles, former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean, a medical doctor, suggested the billionaire was on drugs. Â
'Notice Trump sniffing all the time. Coke user?' Dean, a supporter of Clinton's, tweeted.Â
After the second debate 'Star Wars' actress Carrie Fisher made the same allegation.Â
'I'm an expert & ABSOLUTELY,' Fisher replied when a fan tweeted at her to ask if Trump was on coke.Â

Fox News' Bret Baier (left) asked Donald Trump's running mate Mike Pence (right) about The Donald's drug comments the billionaire said this weekendÂ
This morning, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi suggested to CNN's Jake Tapper on 'State of the Union' that Trump was 'projecting,' when he made these comments.Â
'I'm curiously watching the behavior of Donald Trump, because he's always projecting,' she argued.Â
'When his – he knows that his temperament is not going over very well he said, "I have the temperament for the job." When he knows that his stamina is lagging he says, "I have the – I have the stamina for the job,"' Pelosi said. Â
'When he knows that he has exposure in terms of women, he projects onto Bill Clinton,' she continued. Â Â
'When he knows that – I don't know what this drug things is, but I'm very suspicious that he is saying, she should take a drug test,' Pelosi said. 'What's he talking about there.'Â
When Fox News' Bret Baier, standing in for 'Fox News Sunday' host Chris Wallace, who is preparing to be the next debate's moderator, asked someone who might know what Trump was talking about, vice presidential nominee Mike Pence, the Indiana governor deflected.Â
'Governor, do you think Secretary Clinton should take a drug test before Wednesday?' Baier asked Trump's running mate.Â
'Well, look, all I know for sure is that Donald Trump is going to be ready for the debate Wednesday night,' Pence replied. 'The American people are going to see someone who is prepared to lead this country, prepared to bring the kind of strength and determination that it's going to require to really turn this country around.'
