In the UK, on 21 October 2016, Gordon Anglesea was found guilty of sexually abusing boys at a North Wales children's home, Bryn Estyn, and at a young offenders institution.
Anglesea is a former police superintendent.
He is also a freemason and has been a school governor.

Disgraced former police chief Gordon Anglesea was today found guilty of sexually abusing two teenage boys in the 1980s.
For decades, the 79-year-old had tried to escape allegations he had been a paedophile while serving as a police officer in North Wales.
But today Anglesea’s sordid past finally caught up with him when the jury at Mold Crown Court found him guilty.
He was convicted of four charges of indecent assault but cleared of one count of a more serious sexual offence against two boys 30 years ago, when they were aged 14 or 15.
The verdict marks the end of a long-running saga involving allegations of child abuse levelled against the former North Wales Police officer and Freemason stretching back decades.
Anglesea, of Gwynant, Old Colwyn , was a policeman for 34 years and worked as an inspector in Wrexham between 1975 and 1983.

According to the SP, 12 Pakistanis died. According to the SP, the Pakistani Army loaded the bodies of their dead in ambulances - many have even been buried in villages.
Timing:
"...you can say roughly 3-4 hours... between 2 am and 4 or 5am... the attack continued between that time," the SP said.

Superintendent (supt), often shortened to "super", is a rank in British police services and in most English-speaking Commonwealth nations. In many Commonwealth countries the full version is superintendent of police (SP). The rank is also used in most British Overseas Territories and in many former British Colonies. In some countries, such as Italy, the rank of Superintendent is a low rank.
Australia
In Australia, the rank of superintendent is the next senior rank from chief Inspector and is less senior than a chief superintendent (Victoria Police, South Australia Police, New South Wales Police, Queensland Police) or an assistant commissioner (Western Australia Police). Some officers also hold the rank of detective chief superintendent (though this is seldom used) and detective superintendent. Superintendents wear an epaulette bearing one pip below a crown, the same rank badge as a lieutenant-colonel and wear police caps with a laurel wreath across the brim to indicate seniority.

Disgraced former police chief Gordon Anglesea was today found guilty of sexually abusing two teenage boys in the 1980s.
For decades, the 79-year-old had tried to escape allegations he had been a paedophile while serving as a police officer in North Wales.
But today Anglesea’s sordid past finally caught up with him when the jury at Mold Crown Court found him guilty.
He was convicted of four charges of indecent assault but cleared of one count of a more serious sexual offence against two boys 30 years ago, when they were aged 14 or 15.
The verdict marks the end of a long-running saga involving allegations of child abuse levelled against the former North Wales Police officer and Freemason stretching back decades.
Anglesea, of Gwynant, Old Colwyn , was a policeman for 34 years and worked as an inspector in Wrexham between 1975 and 1983.

The SP was contacted by someone pretending to be ‘IG Mushtaq’ (Inspector General, his superior officer) who demanded details about the casualties from India's 29th September strike.
The SP confirmed the following:
Locations:
"There were attacks on separate places... several places were attacked... they also met resistance," He confirmed that Samana (in Bhimber), Hazira (in Poonch), Dudhniyal (in Neelam) and Kayani (in Hathian Bala) had been struck, and then cordoned by the Pakistani Army immediately.
Bodies:
According to the SP, 12 Pakistanis died. According to the SP, the Pakistani Army loaded the bodies of their dead in ambulances - many have even been buried in villages.
Timing:
"...you can say roughly 3-4 hours... between 2 am and 4 or 5am... the attack continued between that time," the SP said.
Jihadi movement:
And then, the SP said something that can trigger attention from as far as the UN – Pakistani cooperation with jihadis, and assisting them in cross-border movement:
"The Army brings them, sir... it is in their hands,"
