बिहार में नीतीश कुमार की शराबबंदी को पटना हाई कोर्ट ने असंवैधानिक बताया है। एक मामले की सुनवाई करते हुए हाईकोर्ट ने शराबबंदी पर टिप्पणी की है जिसमें कोर्ट ने इस फैसले को रद्द कर दिया है। अब बिहार में लोग पहले की तरह विदेशी शराब पी सकते हैं। कोर्ट ने उत्पाद अधिनियम की धारा में संशोधन कर किए गए शराबबंदी के फैसले को सही नहीं माना है। राज्य में शराब मिलने पर पूरे परिवार को जेल भेजने जैसे कानून को लेकर हाईकोर्ट को एतराज था।

The Patna High Court struck down Bihar Government's legislation which banned sale and consumption of liquor in the state, terming it illegal. The high court's decision comes just days after Bihar CM Nitish Kumar had roped in more than 40 Lakh JD(U) volunteers to speak in favour of the ban. The ban on liquor in Bihar was aggressively championed by Nitish Kumar who claimed that the state has witnessed positive changes following the ban that came to effect on April 5. Under the Bihar Prohibition & excise bill 2016, strict penalties were imposed such as possible arrest of all members of a family if a liquor bottle was found in a house. In the new bill, all sections were made non-bailable, where only courts could grant bails. But ever since this statewide liquor ban was brought in, Nitish Kumar has been facing severe criticism from opposition calling this act 'draconian'.

Patna High Court
Patna High Court is the High Court of the state of Bihar. It was established on 3 February 1916 and later affiliated under the Government of India Act 1915. The court is headquartered in Patna, the administrative capital of the state.
History of Court
Proclamation made by Governor-General of India on 22 March 1912. The foundation-stone of the High Court Building was laid on Monday, 1 December 1913 by His Excellency the late Viceroy and Governor-General of India, Sir Charles Hardinge of Penshurst. The Patna High Court building on its completion was formally opened by the same Viceroy on 3 February 1916. Hon. Sir Justice Edward Maynard Des Champs Chamier was the first Chief Justice of Patna High Court. Starting 18 April 2015, the Patna High Court has planned year long centenary celebrations of 100 years of establishment and the occasion was inaugurated by the President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee chaired by the Governor of Bihar Shri Keshari Nath Tripathi and Chief Justice of India, Justice Mr.H. L. Dattu and the Chief Justice of Patna High Court Justice Mr.L. Narasimha Reddy

Patna
Patna 
i/ˈpætnə, ˈpʌt-/ is the capital and largest city of the state of Bihar in India. Patna is the second largest city in eastern India after Kolkata. It had an estimated population of 1.68 million in 2011, making it the 19th largest city in India. With over 2 million people, its urban agglomeration is the 18th largest in India. Patna also serves as the seat of Patna High Court.
One of the oldest continuously inhabited places in the world. Patna was founded in 490 BCE by the king of Magadha. Ancient Patna, known as Pataliputra, was the capital of the Magadha Empire under the Haryanka, Nanda, Mauryan, Shunga, Gupta and Pala empires. Pataliputra was a seat of learning and fine arts. Its population during the Maurya period (around 300 BCE) was about 400,000.
The modern city of Patna is situated on the southern bank of river Ganges. The city also straddles the rivers Sone, Gandak and Punpun. The city is approximately 35 kilometres (22 mi) in length and 16 to 18 kilometres (9.9 to 11.2 mi) wide. In June 2009, the World Bank ranked Patna second in India (after Delhi) for ease of starting a business. As of 2011-12, Patna had the highest per capita gross district domestic product in Bihar, at ₹63,063. Using figures for assumed average annual growth, Patna is the 21st fastest growing city in the world and 5th fastest growing city in India according to a study by the City Mayors' Foundation. Patna registered an average annual growth of 3.72% during 2006-2010.

Nitish Kumar
Nitish Kumar (born 1 March 1951) is an Indian politician who has been Chief Minister of Bihar since February 2015. Previously he served as the Chief Minister of Bihar from 2005 to 2014 and served as a minister in the Union Government of India. He belongs to the Janata Dal (United) party. He endeared himself to Biharis, used to low expectations from previous regimes, when as Chief Minister, his socialist policies bore dividends in appointing more than 100,000 school teachers, ensuring that doctors worked in primary health centers, electrification of villages, paving of roads, cutting female illiteracy by half, turning around a lawless state by cracking down on criminals and doubling the income of the average Bihari
On 17 May 2014 he resigned, owning responsibility for his party's poor performance in the 2014 general elections, and was succeeded by Jitan Ram Manjhi. However, he returned to office in February 2015 after a political crisis and won the state elections of November 2015.

बिहार में नीतीश कुमार की शराबबंदी को पटना हाई कोर्ट ने असंवैधानिक बताया है। एक मामले की सुनवाई करते हुए हाईकोर्ट ने शराबबंदी पर टिप्पणी की है जिसमें कोर्ट ने इस फैसले को रद्द कर दिया है। अब बिहार में लोग पहले की तरह विदेशी शराब पी सकते हैं। कोर्ट ने उत्पाद अधिनियम की धारा में संशोधन कर किए गए शराबबंदी के फैसले को सही नहीं माना है। राज्य में शराब मिलने पर पूरे परिवार को जेल भेजने जैसे कानून को लेकर हाईकोर्ट को एतराज था।

The ban on liquor in Bihar was aggressively championed by Nitish Kumar who claimed that the state has witnessed positive changes following the ban that came to effect on April 5. Under the Bihar Prohibition & excise bill 2016, strict penalties were imposed such as possible arrest of all members of a family if a liquor bottle was found in a house. In the new bill, all sections were made non-bailable, where only courts could grant bails. But ever since this statewide liquor ban was brought in, Nitish Kumar has been facing severe criticism from opposition calling this act 'draconian'.

Built in: Gupta period (4th-6th century AD), the octagonal tower at top was added during the Mughal period. Another important Buddhist attraction in Sarnath is Chaukhandi Stupa. It is located about 13Kms from Varanasi. Stupas serve as shrine for relic of the Buddha and also are descendents of burial mounds.
It is said that Chaukhandi Stupa was originally built as a terraced temple during the Gupta period, between the 4th and 6th Century. This was erected to mark the place where Lord Buddha and his first disciples met traveling from Bodh Gaya to Sarnath.
The octagonal tower on the top of the ancient stupa was added during the medieval period. By the order of the Mughal emperor Akbar, Govardhan, the son of Raja Todarmal, the finance secretary in Akbar’s court, built this octagonal tower on top of the stupa in 1588. Tourist attractions nearby the Chaukhandi supa are Dhamekha stupa, Dharmajika stupa, Dharmachakra stupa, ruins of Mulagandhakuti Vihara, Mulagandhakuti temple, Archaeological Ruins, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) museum, 80 ft high standing statue of Buddha in Thai Buddha Vihara.
