India Matters: Mahadalits is a term coined by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the poorest and most marginalized among Dalits. 21 castes are included in the Mahadalit category, ostensibly for their socio- economic development and for better targetting of government schemes. Bihar has also become the first state to set up a Mahadalit Development Commission. Some view this as Nitish Kumar's attempt to carve out a voter base of his own. But the chief minister says the development of Mahadalits is at the top of his priorities and that his vision of development is an inclusive one. The chief minister has flaunted economic data to show how effective policies and governance have created a resurgent Bihar. But how do these claims translate on the ground, particularly for those at the centre of the state's politics?

We all are responsible for poverty in India because we are not raising our voice for our country, However its very simple concept to finished the poverty in India in 30 days only but NGO, Government, Corporate Employees, Politicians and every Indian should be determined & have clean hearts and must decide to work together on poverty. If 125 Crores of Inidan will contribute 1 Rupee each and the amount if reached to poor people without any corruption than in next 30 days No one will be poor in our country..I can bet on this concept because i have experimented and realized the power & value of 1 rs only...trust me you can also try the same this concept... Were the words of the Director / Producer of the Documentary UMMEEDE.
Director said "when education will be free and job oriented and we will have dedicated teachers, honest officers for implementation of various schemes launched by government and new employment sources then only our development can be made in real terms ".
the film is shot in Patna city of Bihar. through this film the director Pranjal Singh wanted to show the poverty and struggle people still go through for their living. people expect a lot from the government but the harsh reality is that government change after every 5 years but the condition of these people remains the same since Indian independence back in 1947 . The basic needs of the people are not met here and people struggle hard for water and sanitary issues.
Director Pranjal Singh , said "while shooting it was very hard for me and my team to see those small kids living a tough life where the struggle is for food , water , shelter and education ....the things which are said to be the basic rights for Indian citizen." The director also said that " By the medium of this documentary and I being a citizen of Bihar could like to question the current and previous governments of Bihar that what kind of development have they made , because development is not about developing things which are already doing good real development is about taking a step forward and develop people who live in slums and lack behind in their basic needs, "

Bihar
Bihar (/bᵻˈhɑːr/; Hindustani pronunciation: [bɪˈɦaːr]) is a state in East India. It is the 13th largest state of India, with an area of 94,163 km2 (36,357 sq mi). The third largest state of India by population, it is also contiguous with Uttar Pradesh to its west, Nepal to the north, the northern part of West Bengal to the east, with Jharkhand to the south. The Bihar plain is split by the river Ganges which flows from west to east.
On November 15, 2000, southern Bihar was ceded to form the new state of Jharkhand. Close to 85% of the population lives in villages. Additionally, almost 58% of Biharis are below the age of 25, giving Bihar the highest proportion of young people compared to any other state in India. The official languages of the state are Hindi and Urdu. Other languages commonly used within the state include Bhojpuri, Maithili, Magahi, Bajjika, and Angika (Maithili being the only one of these to be publicly accepted by the government).
In ancient and classical India, Bihar was considered a centre of power, learning, and culture. From Magadha arose India's first empire, the Maurya empire, as well as one of the world's most widely adhered-to religions, Buddhism. Magadha empires, notably under the Maurya and Gupta dynasties, unified large parts of South Asia under a central rule.

India Matters: Mahadalits is a term coined by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the poorest and most marginalized among Dalits. 21 castes are included in the Mahadalit category, ostensibly for their socio- economic development and for better targetting of government schemes. Bihar has also become the first state to set up a Mahadalit Development Commission. Some view this as Nitish Kumar's attempt to carve out a voter base of his own. We all are responsible for poverty in India because we are not raising our voice for our country, However its very simple concept to finished the poverty in India in 30 days only but NGO, Government, Corporate Employees, Politicians and every Indian should be determined & have clean hearts and must decide to work together on poverty. If 125 Crores of Inidan will contribute 1 Rupee each and the amount if reached to poor people without any corruption than in next 30 days No one will be poor in our country..I can bet on this concept because i have experimented and realized the power & value of 1 rs only...trust me you can also try the same this concept... Were the words of the Director / Producer of the Documentary UMMEEDE.
Director said "when education will be free and job oriented and we will have dedicated teachers, honest officers for implementation of various schemes launched by government and new employment sources then only our development can be made in real terms ".
the film is shot in Patna city of Bihar. through this film the director Pranjal Singh wanted to show the poverty and struggle people still go through for their living. people expect a lot from the government but the harsh reality is that government change after every 5 years but the condition of these people remains the same since Indian independence back in 1947 . The basic needs of the people are not met here and people struggle hard for water and sanitary issues.
Director Pranjal Singh , said "while shooting it was very hard for me and my team to see those small kids living a tough life where the struggle is for food , water , shelter and education ....the things which are said to be the basic rights for Indian citizen." The director also said that " By the medium of this documentary and I being a citizen of Bihar could like to question the current and previous governments of Bihar that what kind of development have they made , because development is not about developing things which are already doing good real development is about taking a step forward and develop people who live in slums and lack behind in their basic needs, "

Another ancient University, named as Tiladhaka University has been discovered at Telhara area in Nalanda. This university also finds mentions in the writings of Chinese Traveller Hiuen Tsang.

In Part Two of my India travel video guide, I travel to Bodhgaya, one of the most sacred places in all of the Buddhist religion. It was at this location 2,500 years ago that a young Prince Siddhartha sat under a fig tree, meditated and found enlightenment, thus becoming the Buddha.
I start off by visiting the many temples that have been built by various Buddhists from around the world, including temples dedicated to Buddhists living in China, Japan, Tibet and Nepal. I then visit the Tergar Monastery, one of the largest Buddhist complexes in the region, which is a short walk from the main road.

Chandika Asthan,considered as one of the sacred Shakti-Peeth out of 64 Shakti-Peet available on the earth .
Kastaharni Ghat,beautiful bank of The Ganga.
Tomb of Pir Shah Nufa,Sufi saint from Persia who was sent to Munger by Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti of Ajmer in 1177.
Bhimbandh Wildlife Sanctuary, covers an area of around 682 km2 consist of a hot water spring, sambar, chital, nilgai, wild boar, tiger and panther.
Pirpahar, tomb on hill near bank of Ganga.
Sitla Mandir, a marbled Lord Shiva temple made between a small pond near Matriye Sadan hospital.
Lord Badi Durga Maa temple situated at Shadipur, a place in Munger.
Jai Prakash Udayan also known as Company Garden, because it has been made during an era of British rule when they came here as East India Company. It is a very beautiful garden and it is also a famous picnic-spot.
The Kali Pahadi at Jamalpur is also a place of interest in Munger. It is a range of hills and mountains where people go for fun.it is a famous picnic spot.
Ecological Golf course at Jamalpur.it is one of the oldest golf course of India.it is an 18 hole Golf Course owned by Indian Railways.
Sita Kund in Daryapur, Munger. It is a place where Maa Sita had given her Agni Pariksha it had hot water spring .

People from various nearby place come to various Ganges ghats on religious occasions. The city also see huge crowd during Durga Puja festival.
Kastaharni Ghat is one of various bathing ghats on the Ganges and religiously the most significant. This is one of the few places where the Ganges meanders and flows in the northern direction (Uttarvahini Ganges). Because of this it is considered very auspicious by Hindu believers.
Chandika Sthan is one of the sixty-four shakti peeth spread across India and is situated on the north-east corner of Munger. It sees a huge crowd of devotees all round the year and specially during Navratras.
Munger has one of the oldest railway manufacturing units and also the Tobacco factory owned by ITC Limited.
Earlier spelled Monghyr and now Munger it has a rich and glorious past and stories abound. Madarsa Rahmania is the largest Islamic School in the state.
Bhimbandh and Kharagpur Lake are great picnic spot. It has a stream of hot water coming from the mountains nearby and one stream of cold water also, both the streams merge here only and then are later joined in ganges river.

Vikramshila is an ancient site located 40 km away from the Bhagalpur city of Bihar. The small town is famous for housing Vikramshila University, which was built under the guidance of Dharmapala, a Pala king of 8th century AD. Situated on top of the hills along the banks of river Ganges, the university became a learning center of Tantric Buddhism. Over the years, Vikramshila became one of the most popular Buddhist destinations in India and a major tourist spot in Bihar.
During the ancient period, there was a temple located at the center of Vikramshila University. A life-size copy of the Mahabodhi tree was enshrined in this temple. It is believed that around 108 temples were constructed around it. The study of Guhyasamaja Tantra was carried out in 53 of those temples. Some of the great scholars, including Santipa, Jetari, Ratnavajra, Jnanasrimitra, Naropa and Atisa, have been closely associated with Vikramshila University.
In the present times, Vikramshila stands as a site for the remains of this University, which was built with bricks and decorated with terracotta plaques in the walls of the two-tier circumambulatory paths. Carved pillars, Buddhist images and pictures of Hindu deities have been excavated from this ancient site. The town of Vikramshila is 10 km north of Kahalgaon and 291 km from Patna, the capital city of Bihar.

(488 by 244 metres) At its peak, the university attracted scholars and students from as far away as Tibet, China, Greece, and Persia.[6] Nalanda was ransacked and destroyed by a Turkish Muslim army under Bakhtiyar Khilji in 1193. The great library of Nalanda University was so vast that it is reported to have burned for three months after the invaders set fire to it, ransacked and destroyed the monasteries, and drove the monks from the site. In 2006, Singapore, China, India, Japan, and other nations, announced a proposed plan to restore and revive the ancient site as Nalanda International University.
Another ancient University, named as Tiladhaka University has been discovered at Telhara area in Nalanda. This university also finds mentions in the writings of Chinese Traveller Hiuen Tsang.

Ganga Rail–Road Bridge is a bridge across river Ganges, connecting Digha Ghat in Patna and Pahleja Ghat in Sonepur in the Indian state of Bihar. Upon completion in March 2015, the bridge would provide easy roadway and railway link between northern and southern parts of Bihar. The first trial with was done on 8 August 2015, and was proved successful.
Presently, Rajendra Setu is the only bridge that carries railway tracks across the Ganges in the state of Bihar. It was opened in 1959.
Initially sanctioned as a rail bridge, the Ganga Rail Bridge project was converted to a rail-cum-road bridge in 2006. Total cost of the project was put at ₹13,890 million, out of which ₹8,350 million was for the rail part, and ₹5,540 million was for the road part. It was expected to be completed in five years.
When completed, the 4,556 metres (14,948 ft) bridge would be amongst the longer bridges in India. The total length of construction, including approaches, would be 20 km. It would be a K-truss bridge.
According to a media report the bridge is expected to be completed by 2017. Railways is working hard to complete Ganga Rail–Road Bridge project within the stipulated time of March 2016 to ease the huge traffic flow on the Mahatma Gandhi Setu. The work is most likely to get completed by the end of 2016 as the remaining fund of Rs 300-350 crore has been allocated in the Rail Budget 2015-16.
In 1996, survey work for the proposed bridge was initiated by the Railways at three possible sites – Digha-Sonepur, Gulzarbagh-Hajipur and Ict Ghat-Sonepur. Ram Vilas Paswan was then the Union Railway Minister and he lent his support to the Gulzarbagh-Hajipur site, as Hajipur was the constituency from which he was elected. Lalu Prasad Yadav, then Chief Minister of Bihar, lent his support to the Digha-Sonepur site. In the wake of the conflicting support of the political heavy weights, disturbances broke out at Sonepur. One person was shot dead. Many experts opined in favour of building the rail bridge adjacent to the Mahatma Gandhi Setu, the road bridge connecting Hajipur with Patna. However, political opinion prevailed and the Digha-Sonepur site was selected. Rs. 24 million was spent on the survey alone. The bridge was finally sanctioned during the term as Union Railway Minister of Nitish Kumar, present Chief Minister of Bihar. The scope of work was expanded when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Union Railway Minister.

the film is shot in lucknow and Patna city of Bihar . through this documentary film the director Pranjal Singh wanted to show the real and harsh face of the society. he focused on senior citizens living in old age home and facing the adversities of life. Senior citizens expect a lot from their children but they often leave them in old age homes to count the last few days of life in hope of seeing their children again.Pranjal Singh during his interview shared some of his memories which he undergo during his shoot of the film.
he told that during one of the interviews a senior citizen said that due to western culture and trending nuclear family system people are now not willing to take care of their parents and thus the old age homes are rising every day. Director Pranjal Singh , said "while shooting it was very hard for me and my team to see this tough phase of life . The director also said that " By the medium of this documentary and I being a child would like to question everyone out there that what is more precious for you all... love and care of your mother or the fake face of society . take a step forward and spread unconditional love to the old people around you this is all they want.
An old man radha mohan singh who has also appealed the court for euthanasia ( mercy killing )who lives in one of the old age homes told the team that "when a tree grows old it provides shelter to the young generation but people today do not need the valued knowledge. of the elders. we elders do not need anything else except love and respect and we want to spend our left days with small kids this will be like sweet to our dinner plate.
internationally senior citizens population counts approx. 60 crore , india's counting is approx. 10 crores . In the end pranjal concluded his speech with a request that we all should respect and care our parents as because of them we are here in this world and this is our very first duty to do so.

the film is shot in lucknow and Patna city of Bihar . through this documentary film the director Pranjal Singh wanted to show the real and harsh face of the society. he focused on senior citizens living in old age home and facing the adversities of life. Senior citizens expect a lot from their children but they often leave them in old age homes to count the last few days of life in hope of seeing their children again.Pranjal Singh during his interview shared some of his memories which he undergo during his shoot of the film.
he told that during one of the interviews a senior citizen said that due to western culture and trending nuclear family system people are now not willing to take care of their parents and thus the old age homes are rising every day. Director Pranjal Singh , said "while shooting it was very hard for me and my team to see this tough phase of life . The director also said that " By the medium of this documentary and I being a child would like to question everyone out there that what is more precious for you all... love and care of your mother or the fake face of society . take a step forward and spread unconditional love to the old people around you this is all they want.
An old man radha mohan singh who has also appealed the court for euthanasia ( mercy killing )who lives in one of the old age homes told the team that "when a tree grows old it provides shelter to the young generation but people today do not need the valued knowledge. of the elders. we elders do not need anything else except love and respect and we want to spend our left days with small kids this will be like sweet to our dinner plate.
internationally senior citizens population counts approx. 60 crore , india's counting is approx. 10 crores . In the end pranjal concluded his speech with a request that we all should respect and care our parents as because of them we are here in this world and this is our very first duty to do so.
