James VI and I (19 June 1566 – 27 March 1625) was King of Scotland as James VI from 24 July 1567 and King of England and Ireland as James I from the union of the Scottish and English crowns on 24 March 1603 until his death. The kingdoms of Scotland and England were individual sovereign states, with their own parliaments, judiciary, and laws, though both were ruled by James in personal union.
James was the son of Mary, Queen of Scots, and a great-great-grandson of Henry VII, King of England and Lord of Ireland (through both his parents), uniquely positioning him to eventually accede to all three thrones. James succeeded to the Scottish throne at the age of thirteen months, after his mother Mary was compelled to abdicate in his favour. Four different regents governed during his minority, which ended officially in 1578, though he did not gain full control of his government until 1583. In 1603, he succeeded the last Tudor monarch of England and Ireland, Elizabeth I, who died without issue. He continued to reign in all three kingdoms for 22 years, a period known as the JACOBean era after him, until his death in 1625 at the age of 58. After the Union of the Crowns, he based himself in England (the largest of the three realms) from 1603, only returning to Scotland once in 1617, and styled himself "King of Great Britain and Ireland". He was a major advocate of a single parliament for both England and Scotland. In his reign, the Plantation of Ulster and British colonization of the Americas began.
At 57 years and 246 days, James's reign in Scotland was longer than those of any of his predecessors. He achieved most of his aims in Scotland but faced great difficulties in England, including the Gunpowder Plot in 1605 and repeated conflicts with the English Parliament. Under James, the "Golden Age" of Elizabethan literature and drama continued, with writers such as William Shakespeare, John Donne, Ben Jonson, and Sir Francis Bacon contributing to a flourishing literary culture. James himself was a talented scholar, the author of works such as Daemonologie (1597), True Law of Free Monarchies (1598), and Basilikon Doron (1599). He sponsored the translation of the Bible that was named after him: the Authorised King James Version. Sir Anthony Weldon claimed that James had been termed "the wisest fool in Christendom", an epithet associated with his character ever since. Since the latter half of the 20th century, historians have tended to revise James's reputation and treat him as a serious and thoughtful monarch

History of the King James Bible: God's Perfect word
in the year 1516 A.D. a man named Erasmus restored the true Greek text from Antioch to the people of Europe.
Two men would make translations to their people from this text. Martin Luther in Germany and William Tyndale in England. Both men
had to disobey the laws of the roman catholic church to make their translations.
The bible that William Tyndale began would eventually become the greatest book in the history of the world.
One evening William Tyndale was having a discussion with a catholic bishop on the authority of scripture.
The bishop said that he respected the word of the pope more than the bible.
To this William Tyndale replied; "I defy the pope and all his laws; if God spare my life ere many years, I will cause a boy
that driveth the plough, shall know more of the scripture than thou dost."
Tyndale's desire was to make the bible available in english instead of the latin bibles used by the catholic clergy to keep the people in
bondage.
in 1534 he translated the new testament into english from the greek text of Erasmus. In 1536 William Tyndale was executed by the Roman catholic church.
His crime? Giving the people in England the word of God in their own language.
A tyrannical church like Rome could not have their authority undermined by an english bible. William Tyndale had to be killed if the pope wanted to remain in control of the people of England. William Tyndale's dying words were "Lord open the king of England's eyes"
He was then strangled and his body set on fire.
In the year 1604 A.D. King James the first of England authorized a translation of the holy bible into the english language. 54 of Europe's greatest scholars were gathered together for this monumental task which would take seven years to complete. Men like Lancelot Andrews who could speak 15 languages and wrote his own private devotional books in Greek. Henry Seville was Greek and mathematical tutor to queen Elizabeth. John overall was an expert on the early church fathers. These 54 men were separated into six groups. Two at Cambridge, two at Westminister, and two at Oxford.
The translators would use the Greek text of Stephanus which was an updated copy of the Erasmus text this Greek text is known today as the Textus Receptus.
Over the next seven years these men would translate and design the greatest book of all time. Each book of the bible had to pass 14 tests before it was accepted as scripture. The authorized version was completed in 1611. This great bible is commonly known today as the King James Version.
William Tyndale's dying prayer to God had been answered.
English speaking people all over the world finally had the Word of God in their own language.

Malcolm X (
/ˈmælkəm ˈɛks/; May 19, 1925 – February 21, 1965), born Malcolm Little and also known as El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz (Arabic: الحاجّ مالك الشباز), was an African-American Muslim minister and human rights activist. To his admirers, he was a courageous advocate for the rights of African Americans, a man who indicted white America in the harshest terms for its crimes against black Americans. Detractors accused him of preaching racism, black supremacy, antisemitism, and violence. He has been called one of the greatest and most influential African Americans in history.
Malcolm X's father died—killed by white supremacists, it was rumored—when he was young, and at least one of his uncles was lynched. When he was thirteen, his mother was placed in a mental hospital, and he was placed in a series of foster homes. In 1946, at age 20, he went to prison for breaking and entering.
In prison, Malcolm X became a member of the Nation of Islam and after his parole in 1952 he quickly rose to become one of its leaders. For a dozen years Malcolm X was the public face of the controversial group, but disillusionment with Nation of Islam head Elijah Muhammad led him to leave the Nation in March 1964. After a period of travel in Africa and the Middle East, he returned to the United States, where he founded Muslim Mosque, Inc. and the Organization of Afro-American Unity. In February 1965, less than a year after leaving the Nation of Islam, he was assassinated by three members of the group.

Plot: Captain Smith is spared his mutinous hanging sentence after captain Newport's ship arrives in 1607 to found Jamestown, an English colony in Virginia. The initially friendly natives, who have no personal property concept, turn hostile after a 'theft' is 'punished' violently on the spot. During an armed exploration, Smith is captured, but spared when the chief's favorite daughter Pocahontas pleads for the stranger who soon becomes her lover and learns to love their naive 'savage' way of harmonious life. Ultimately he returns to the grim fort, which would starve hadn't she arranged for Indian generosity. Alas, each side soon brands their own lover a traitor, so she is banished and he flogged as introduction to slavish toiling. Changes turn again, leading Smith to accept a northern-more mission and anglicized Pocahontas, believing him dead, becoming the mother of aristocratic new lover John Rolfe's son. They'll meet again for a finale in England.

James succeeded to the Scottish throne at the age of thirteen months, after his mother Mary was compelled to abdicate in his favour. Four different regents governed during his minority, which ended officially in 1578, though he did not gain full control of his government until 1583. In 1603, he succeeded the last Tudor monarch of England and Ireland, Elizabeth I, who died without issue. He continued to reign in all three kingdoms for 22 years, a period known as the JACOBean era after him, until his death in 1625 at the age of 58. After the Union of the Crowns, he based himself in England (the largest of the three realms) from 1603, only returning to Scotland once in 1617, and styled himself "King of Great Britain and Ireland". He was a major advocate of a single parliament for both England and Scotland. In his reign, the Plantation of Ulster and British colonization of the Americas began.
At 57 years and 246 days, James's reign in Scotland was longer than those of any of his predecessors. He achieved most of his aims in Scotland but faced great difficulties in England, including the Gunpowder Plot in 1605 and repeated conflicts with the English Parliament. Under James, the "Golden Age" of Elizabethan literature and drama continued, with writers such as William Shakespeare, John Donne, Ben Jonson, and Sir Francis Bacon contributing to a flourishing literary culture. James himself was a talented scholar, the author of works such as Daemonologie (1597), True Law of Free Monarchies (1598), and Basilikon Doron (1599). He sponsored the translation of the Bible that was named after him: the Authorised King James Version. Sir Anthony Weldon claimed that James had been termed "the wisest fool in Christendom", an epithet associated with his character ever since. History of the King James Bible: God's Perfect word
in the year 1516 A.D. a man named Erasmus restored the true Greek text from Antioch to the people of Europe.
Two men would make translations to their people from this text. Martin Luther in Germany and William Tyndale in England. Both men
had to disobey the laws of the roman catholic church to make their translations.
The bible that William Tyndale began would eventually become the greatest book in the history of the world.
One evening William Tyndale was having a discussion with a catholic bishop on the authority of scripture.
The bishop said that he respected the word of the pope more than the bible.
To this William Tyndale replied; "I defy the pope and all his laws; if God spare my life ere many years, I will cause a boy
that driveth the plough, shall know more of the scripture than thou dost."
Tyndale's desire was to make the bible available in english instead of the latin bibles used by the catholic clergy to keep the people in
bondage.
in 1534 he translated the new testament into english from the greek text of Erasmus. In 1536 William Tyndale was executed by the Roman catholic church.
His crime? Giving the people in England the word of God in their own language.
A tyrannical church like Rome could not have their authority undermined by an english bible. William Tyndale had to be killed if the pope wanted to remain in control of the people of England. William Tyndale's dying words were "Lord open the king of England's eyes"
He was then strangled and his body set on fire.
In the year 1604 A.D. King James the first of England authorized a translation of the holy bible into the english language. 54 of Europe's greatest scholars were gathered together for this monumental task which would take seven years to complete. Men like Lancelot Andrews who could speak 15 languages and wrote his own private devotional books in Greek. Henry Seville was Greek and mathematical tutor to queen Elizabeth. John overall was an expert on the early church fathers. These 54 men were separated into six groups. Two at Cambridge, two at Westminister, and two at Oxford.
The translators would use the Greek text of Stephanus which was an updated copy of the Erasmus text this Greek text is known today as the Textus Receptus.
Over the next seven years these men would translate and design the greatest book of all time. Each book of the bible had to pass 14 tests before it was accepted as scripture. The authorized version was completed in 1611. This great bible is commonly known today as the King James Version.
William Tyndale's dying prayer to God had been answered.
English speaking people all over the world finally had the Word of God in their own language.

The Muslims who have accepted the religion of Islam have never bombed any churches, have never murdered any little girls as was done in Birmingham, have never lynched anybody, have never at any time been guilty of initiating any aggressive acts of violence during the entire 33 years or more that the honorable Elijah Muhammad has been teaching. The charge of violence against us actually stems from the guilt complex that exists in the conscious and subconscious minds of most white people in this country. They know that they’ve been violent in their brutality against Negroes and they feel that someday the Negro’s going to wake up and try and do unto them as the whites have done unto us.
We aren’t a violent group. We are taught to obey the law, to respect everyone who respect us, we’re taught to display courtesy to be polite, but we’re also taught that anytime anyone in anyway inflicts or seeks to inflict violence upon us, we are within our religious rights to retaliate in self-defence to the maximum degree of our ability. We never initiate any violence upon anyone, but if anyone attacks us, we reserve the right to defend ourselves.
So to accuse us of being violent is like accusing a man who is being lynched, who is being hung on a tree, simply because he struggles vigorously against his lyncher, the victim is accused the violence but the lyncher is never accused of violence. And I only point this out because the various racist groups that are set up in this country by whites and who have actually practiced violence against blacks for 400 years are never associated or identified or made synonymous with the term violence, but whites speak of Muslims almost synonymously with violence. Whenever Muslims are mentioned by them, violence is brought up, but it’s not connected with any other group. This is a sort of a propaganda tactic or what I would call psychological warfare to in some way make the image of the Muslims in this country the violent image rather than a religious image.

Mr. Hurlbut: You were born in Omaha, is that right?
Malcolm X: Yes, sir.
Mr. Hurlbut: And you left -- your family left Omaha when you were about one year old?
Malcolm X: I imagine about a year old.
Mr. Hurlbut: And why did they leave Omaha?
Malcolm X: Well, to my understanding the Ku Klux Klan burned one of their homes in Omaha. There's a lot of Ku Klux Klan--
Mr. Hurlbut: They made your family feel very unhappy, I'm sure.
Malcolm X: Well, insecure, if not unhappy.
Mr. Hurlbut: So you must have a somewhat prejudiced point of view -- a personally prejudiced point of view. In other words, you cannot look at this in a broad, academic sort of way, really, can you?
Malcolm X: I think that's incorrect, because despite the fact that that happened in Omaha and then when moved to Lansing, Michigan our home was burned down again -- in fact, my father was killed by the Ku Klux Klan, and despite all of that, no one was more thoroughly integrated with whites than I.
