América TV

LS86 TV (channel 2) is a television station located in La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The station is owned and operated by America TV S.A. América is also one of Argentina's five national television channels.

LS86 maintains studio facilities and offices located in Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires; its transmitter is located in the Florencio Varela Partido, Buenos Aires Province. Outside of the Buenos Aires province, América is available on cable.

History

1972: Founding

Channel 2 in La Plata was launched on July 25, 1972 as Tevedos, under the ownership of Rivadavia Televisión S.A., whose proprietors also owned several radio stations and the now-defunct El Mundo daily newspaper.

La Plata is close in proximity to Buenos Aires, and the two cities can receive each other's television broadcasts. This geographical reality led Tevedos to target the much larger media market of Argentina's capital. But with transmission facilities in Florencio Varela to the south, northern portions of the metropolitan area couldn't receive an adequate signal. This stood in contrast to the other four stations in Buenos Aires, which had their transmitters located in the city proper.

Chiapas Fútbol Club formerly known as Club de Fútbol Jaguares de Chiapas is a football club based in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Mexico currently playing in the Liga MX. The team plays their home matches at the Estadio Víctor Manuel Reyna. They are also known as Chiapas Jaguar.

The club in its Chiapas reincarnation was "founded" on 27 June 2002. They played their first game on 3 August against Tigres de la UANL, losing 3–1, with Lucio Filomeno scoring the club's first ever goal. The club's first win came on 25 August, a 1–0 win over San Luis. They finished the Apertura 2002, with a record of three wins, seven draws, and nine defeats. In the Clausura 2005 they finished with six wins, four draws, and seven defeats, and the head coach José Luis Trejo was sacked in the middle of the season. The club then named Antonio Mohamed as manager, but poor results meant another change with Fernando Quirarte taking over for the remainder of the season, bringing stability to the team and results improved. They won the Chiapas Cup in 2004 and on 16 July 2005, they won the Chiapas Cup for a second time, by defeating Necaxa at the Victor Manuel Reyna Stadium. In February 2008 Sergio Almaguer was named manager of Chiapas.

Captain America

Captain America is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by cartoonists Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in Captain America Comics #1 (cover dated March 1941) from Timely Comics, a predecessor of Marvel Comics. Captain America was designed as a patriotic supersoldier who often fought the Axis powers of World War II and was Timely Comics' most popular character during the wartime period. The popularity of superheroes waned following the war and the Captain America comic book was discontinued in 1950, with a short-lived revival in 1953. Since Marvel Comics revived the character in 1964, Captain America has remained in publication.

Captain America wears a costume that bears an American flag motif, and is armed with a nearly indestructible shield that he throws at foes. The character is usually depicted as the alter ego of Steve Rogers, a frail young man enhanced to the peak of human perfection by an experimental serum to aid the United States government's imminent efforts in World War II. Near the end of the war, he was trapped in ice and survived in suspended animation until he was revived in the present day. Although Captain America often struggles to maintain his ideals as a man out of his time with its modern realities, he remains a highly respected figure in his community which includes becoming the long-time leader of the Avengers.

"America" is an American political advertisement released by the 2016 presidential campaign of Bernie Sanders. It premiered on January 21, 2016 via YouTube, and to air on television in Iowa and New Hampshire shortly before the Democratic Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary.

The advertisement features "America," a song recorded by Simon & Garfunkel for their album Bookends (1968).

The ad starts with scenes of everyday American life over soft humming and gentle guitar strumming. As the line, "let us be lovers, we'll marry our fortunes together" plays in the background, a middle-aged couple dances at a small Bernie Sanders for President rally. Then Sanders is seen speaking to a few people in a backyard. As the ad continues, the crowds grow larger and more enthusiastic. A montage of many Sanders supporters appear, as the words "They've all come to look for America" flash on the screen. Sanders is then seen addressing a large outdoor gathering, interacting one-on-one with supporters, appearing before more energetic crowds, finally ending in a large auditorium filled to capacity with cheering people.
