RESEÑA Pulp Banda formada por Jarvis Cocker con amigos del colegio a finales de los años 70, cuando tan solo tenía 14 años. En un principio el grupo se llamó Arabicus Pulp. Comenzaron con discos un tanto experimentales que no tuvieron mucha repercusión pero desde jóvenes iban cogiendo tablas en numerosos conciertos que daban por Inglaterra. A partir de 1992, Pulp cambió de discográfica, firmando con el sello Island Records. Dejando atrás cuatro discos que reflejaban su progreso, crearon en 1994 His 'n' Hers, un disco con mayor acogida internacional y que reflejó cómo un grupo musical entre amigos de Yorkshire aprendió lo suficiente para componer un disco tan elogiado por la crítica como éste. Sin duda la cumbre de la popularidad de Pulp llegó con la edición en 1995 de Different Class, para muchos, el mejor disco de Pulp. Habían llegado al dominio perfecto del ritmo en cada una de las canciones. Los singles más conocidos de este álbum son: "Common People". "Disco 2000", "Something Changed", entre otros. Disco 2000 es una canción que alcanzó el puesto #7 en la lista UK Singles Chart. Fue lanzado en 1995 como el tercer sencillo del álbum Different Class, después de "Common People" y el lado A "Mis-Shapes"/"Sorted for E's & Wizz", obteniendo ambos sencillos el puesto #2. La canción está basada en una historia personal de Jarvis Cocker en la que narra enamorarse de una amiga de la infancia llamada Deborah, quien es más popular que él y preguntándose cómo como sería la vida cuando sean mayores, precisamente si se encontraran en el año 2000.
